Mission: Our mission is to provide bereavement support groups to individuals and families struggling in the aftermath of loss to substance use or an overdose death.
Results: Utilizing virtual meetings, we have increased the number of members including individuals joining us from throughout the U.S. Created a public website and a website for members only Our organization has had TV and newspaper coverage providing us an opportunity to raise awareness about the need for overdose grief support Formed individualized support groups: - Sibling Group - Grandparents Group - Those who have loss more than one to an overdose - Those who have loss their only child - Those who found their loved one and are potentially suffering from PTSD
Target demographics: We help those to cope with the life-altering effects of the traumatic loss of a love one to substance use or an overdose death
Direct beneficiaries per year: We will never know the overall impact we have had on people, the services they used, the resources they took advantage of from our website, social media platforms, and other areas. Many times it is later when we hear from someone or a family member as to the difference we have made.
Geographic areas served: Long Island, New York and throughout the U.S.
Programs: Support Groups, Art Therapy, Garden Projects, Art Therapy with Inmates, Art Therapy with At-Risk Students and Special Needs
