Mission: Founded in 1982, Global Water is a volunteer-based, international, non-profit humanitarian organization. We’re focused on creating safe water supplies, sanitation facilities and hygiene-related facilities for rural villagers in developing countries. We believe the lack of safe drinking water and sanitation facilities are the root causes of hunger, disease and poverty throughout the developing world. Our water projects have an immediate life-changing impact, particularly for women and children, who have the responsibility to gather water for their families every day of their lives. Successful Global Water projects utilize water and sanitation as a tool to create sustainable socioeconomic development in these poor rural communities.

What an amazing organization! The Global Water office is efficient and the environment is friendly. My time spent at the office really was life changing for many peoples abroad. The contribution of my time as a volunteer improved the living conditions and dignity of underrepresented rural people. I will defiantly volunteer with Global Water again.

Global Water does incredible work for the neediest people on this planet. Not only do they bring clean water to those who are suffering, but they also do it in a sustainable, culturally sensitive way. The volunteers are some of the most compassionate and intelligent people I know. In addition, Global Water is one of the most efficient nonprofits I've ever worked with.

I started working with Global Water because I recognized that they were relieving suffering in the world in a fundamental and effective way. So much of hunger, conflict, environmental degradation and gender inequality is, at its root, caused by the scarcity of clean water and sanitation facilities. The people of Global Water (nearly all volunteers) not only have a passion for serving the poorest of people, but they also have hundreds of years combined experience in water treatment to provide smart solutions to problems. But what is most impressive about Global Water is how much they accomplish with so little. They are a paradigm of keeping it simple and focusing on what really matters. Ted Kuepper and his daughter Kathleen are two of the most bright, enthusiastic and kind people I know and it is a pleasure and privilege to work with them.

Global Water stands behind its motto of changing the world one "drop" at a time. Although a small NGO, they are long on hard work, enthusiasm and reach, having established numerous local village clean water systems throughout South and Central America largely on their own time, with limited funds and personal, tireless, dedicated efforts.

I joined Global Water (GW) as a board member in 2007. I've spent a great deal of time researching for the right NGO to join and GW thus far has met all my expectations. Among others, GW has an executive director who has the right vision, can inspire others, is committed, and is well-versed in water issues, both technical and social. Because GW is largely a volunteer-based organization, there is very little operating overhead; most of the funds raised by GW goes directly to GW's water projects and to the people in the poor rural communities we are trying to help. GW puts a great deal of emphasis on self-reliance and sustainability by making the local communities an integral part of the water projects. The local people help us build all our water systems thereby providing 3 benefits: (1) they own the project from the start, (2) there is a formal on-the-job training and knowledge transfer, and (3) they help to reduce our costs. Given its history and geographic coverage, GW also has a tremendous depth and breadth in terms of its practical hands-on knowledge in running water projects around the world that are cost-effective. With this knowledge, GW has also established a global outreach program through the technology push program where we made available on our website simple step-by-step "how to" guidelines in building water systems. There are many more exemparies but these are a few that tell a compelling story on how effective GW has been and is. I have been honored to serve as a board member of GW and hope to provide continued support in the future.

I was fortunate enough to be able to volunteer with Global Water, helping with grant writing and other administrative tasks. Unlike most other NGO's, Global Water allocates nearly all of its donations to their water projects. The most exciting thing about Global Water's projects, is not only do they help the community as a whole with sanitation, clean water and bringing in a better way of life, but in doing this women in the villages (who typically are the ones to get the water from streams and rivers miles away) have the ability to go back to school and ensure a better future for their family. This non-profit isn't just about clean water, but a better way of life for people who's governments have all but given up on them.

Global Water is an incredible organization, bringing clean and safe water to villages throughout the world. Without the help of Global Water, many people would still be living without clean water.

I am constantly surprised by not only how much Global Water does but also how much they care about those they have never even met. The passion they have for helping others is obvious within the first few minutes of talking to any of them.

With all of the corruption and unnecessary illness in this world Global Water is a refreshing change.

Thank you Global Water and everyone involved!

Ever since joining the Global Water team, I have been impressed with them. Ted Kuepper is a great engineer and very passionate about the cause - addressing one of the world's biggest problems: scarce and contaminated drinking water. The organization is full of very dedicated and smart people who can claim more true technical knowledge than any other nonprofit I've ever heard of or worked with.

Global Water is one of the most outstanding nonprofit partners we have worked with. They are an exceptionally dedicated, visionary team who has the expertise and experience to make decisions in the field that bring confidance to those who fund them. They are also always willing to go the extra mile, whatever that looks like, because their work eminates from their hearts. From a donor perspective, they vigilantly protect the bottom line-- making sure that maximum dollars go to delivering solutions and outcomes for those they serve. I find them so impressive in so many ways-- supporting them is an easy move if you are impassioned by the cause of clean safe water for the 1 billion people who lack it-- an issue that directly relates to hunger, poverty, nutrition, industry, and almost every other element of a sustainable societly.

I have been consistently impressed with Global Water. I have raised money to support their projects through several different marathon events, and they have always been incredibly professional. They helped me reach my fundraising goals, wrote individual letters to all of my donors thanking them for their contribution, and sent follow-up information demonstrating all the good work they did with our contributions. A dedicated, kind, lovely group of people!
