I recently began at Pratthanadee Foundation as a volunteer teacher and the experience has been wonderful. I absolutely love the concept of the school, and it’s an honour to contribute some small part towards it.The staff could not be more friendly, helpful, courteous and welcoming, and the experience of teaching the women in my class is a true pleasure. The students are so wonderfully polite and eager to learn. As I teach, I constantly see a room of smiles looking back at me, which is a very rewarding experience. The students not only learn from me as their teacher, but they are also so helpful and willing to assist one another too. We all learn together as a team.I can only say the best things about my time with Pratthanadee Foundation. It’s a great organisation and a great school.Regards,Jay Scott

Hi my name is Howard and I have been living in Thailand since 2010, originally from the UK. I am a Coach and Trainer based here in Asia.
I became a volunteer when I first arrived in Bangkok and supported the original Goodwill Foundation. I was always impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm that the staff provided together with the commitment and motivation from the students.
I am now able to offer my support again and truly have felt privileged to be able to volunteer to such a fantastic organisation.
Thank you and I hope to see more smiling faces, learning and feeling confident to reach their potential. Truly inspirational
[A story from - Jitsupa Chin]
I have had the privilege of volunteering at the Pratthanadee Foundation for the past three years, and it has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am consistently inspired by the students, who demonstrate unwavering commitment to their English language learning in pursuit of their personal growth. It is an honor for myself to know that I may contribute to their future success.
The staff at the foundation are consistently professional, polite, and helpful. For these reasons, I am dedicated to continuing my volunteer work here for as long as I can.
[A story from - Suppapong Sooksangchaya]
My experience as an English teaching volunteer at Pratthanadee Foundation has been tremendously rewarding. The staffs of the Foundation work hard and are so committed to deliver the best services to volunteers and the students. I have been receiving great support from all the staffs in carrying out my classes effectively. I enjoy working with them so much.
Teaching the students of the Foundation can’t be more satisfying. They are so humble and so eager to learn. Their desire to improve themselves and be better at English helps encourage me to keep the classes moving forward.
I am so proud and grateful for being part of the Pratthanadee Foundation.
[A story from - Chantal Lalonde]
It has been a privileged to be volunteer as an English teacher at the Pratthanadee Foundation for the past year. I was looking to join an organization that worked to help women in Bangkok and this Foundation has given the most rewarding volunteer work I have ever experienced.
The women I work with are so resilient, dedicated and hard-working. They inspire me to do better every week, and I am proud to be assisting them on their journey to improve their lives through education.
Furthermore, the staff is as good at supporting their volunteers as they are dedicated towards improving the lives of underprivileged woman.
Thank you to the staff and the Pratthanadee Foundation for being so efficient at accomplishing their mission.
[A story from - Malini Tochamrat]
I have been a volunteer at Pratthanadee for many years. I'm happy to share my knowledge with students. It challenges how to make students understand lessons easily. I can plan teaching freestyle. The staff always supports my teaching and takes good care of me. Thank you.
[A story from - Marisa Pim Howell]
My experience with Prathanadee has been wonderful. I've volunteered with the foundation for several months now, and I've really gotten to see the amazing work everyone here does. The staff is attentive to both the teachers and the students. It's obvious that they truly care about the mission. It's also been amazing to see how my students have grown in confidence as well. They're amazing women and being able to support them in their journey to empowerment has allowed me to reflect on myself as well. It's been an overall unforgettable experience and I'm so grateful I've had the opportunity to be here.
[A story from - Allen Cooper]
I have had the privilege of being a volunteer teacher at the Pratthanadee Foundation (PF) for
over 12 years, and it has been an absolute joy from day one.
The students are amazing, most of them only get one day off a week, and they spend part of
that day at school doing their best to improve themselves. They work well together, and the
classroom always has a positive vibe. The students are very appreciative of the time spent
to teach and help them, little do they know how much of a lift it gives us, the volunteers.
Sarochinee Unyawachsumrith (Khun Beer} has been the Program Director at PF for the
whole time I have been a teacher there. She is very dedicated to her cause and is assisted
by a great group of staff members. It is not just a job for Beer and her team, they truly care
and want to give as much as possible towards the betterment of students.
It is my intention to remain a part of PF for as long as I am able to contribute, in some small
way, to the continued success of the foundation.

So impressed and happy to meet Weena, Beer, and Duang and shared their current projects in Ubon. Thank you for giving up your time to keep me into the foundation success and current and future ‘Better Me’ program.
For my part, I will continue to share your foundation’s vision with my friends and people I meet along my travels and impress to them of their responsibility (social) to donate to the foundation.

Volunteering as an English teacher at Pratthanadee Foundation has been nothing short of transformative. From the moment I began my journey with Pratthanadee, I was struck by the unwavering commitment and passion of everyone involved. The foundation’s mission is clear: to empower women and girls, providing them with the tools to improve their quality of life. What truly sets this mission apart is how it is embodied in everyday actions and interactions.
Teaching English at Pratthanadee has become a highlight of my week, not only for the joy of teaching but also for the incredible learning experience it offers me. Each class is a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences, where I am continually inspired by the students’ resilience, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. Their dedication to their own growth reflects the foundation’s commitment to their empowerment, fostering an environment where mutual learning and respect flourish.
Their progress is a testament to the strength of Pratthanadee’s mission and the tangible impact it has on their lives. Witnessing their journeys—from initial hesitancy to confident expression—has been profoundly rewarding. It reaffirms the power of education and the significant difference one can make through genuine, heartfelt commitment.
Beyond the classroom, the sense of community at Pratthanadee is palpable. The staff are caring, professional, and genuinely supportive—they truly value both their students and their volunteers. Being part of this community has deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by underprivileged women and girls and has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and empowerment.
As I continue my journey with Pratthanadee, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause and to be part of a community dedicated to making a real difference.
Volunteering at the Pratthanadee Foundation has been a fulfilling and wonderful experience!
When you walk into the foundation, you can feel the kind and welcoming energy from the staff and the women they serve.
You feel a sense of belonging.
They genuinely care about the success of the women and the support received from the volunteers.
I am truly grateful to be in the company of such amazing individuals.
I have volunteered my time at many organizations around the world and the Pratthanadee Foundation has been my favorite!
I look forward to continuing to be a part of this wonderful organization.
Thank you!
[A story from - Khun Air]
Seeing the world as it is today, I realized that many women still lack opportunity to fully realize their true potential, so it has always been my dream to help strengthen the women community. Then I found out about the Pratthanadee Foundation, whose goal is to equip underprivileged women the skills they need to thrive in today's ever-changing world. Volunteering as an English teacher here has been one of the greatest experiences in my life, very fulfilling and rewarding. Here are the reasons why: 1. The Foundation has a structured procedures in place to enroll students. This ensures that only those with the need and ambition are allowed in. Plus the Foundation is close to the BTS station, making it very easy for both volunteers and students to get by. 2. The staff are passionate about their jobs. They continuously improve the curriculum and activities to meet the students' needs. They even sacrifice their personal time to listen to the students' problems and give them advices. And despite all their hard works, they are very warm and welcoming. I am always greeted with smiles. The environment here is always full of goodwill, exactly reflexive of the Foundation's name. 3. All the students are really diligent, hard-working and considerate. Even with all the hardships they face, they are doing their best to become the better version of themselves. All of these combined lead to an invaluable experience as a volunteer. I deeply appreciate all efforts that the Foundation has put in to make this happen. And I believe that together, all of us can help uplift the women society.

I had a chance to attend the 'Claim Your Rights' workshop which was arranged by Pratthanadee Foundation. It's useful for the girls who attended this workshop so much. Because it's updated and they can apply in their daily life. I impressed with the techniques and creativity of the trainer that motivated all the attendees to intend and enjoy it until the end of the workshop.

After attending activities with Pratthanadee Foundation, I saw the intention of all staff that dedicates to prepare and create wonderful activities. Girls enjoyed these activities and learned about the dangers that could happen in daily life. They also learned the technique to prevent and protect themselves if they face a dangerous situation. The more supporters they have, the more girls can learn these great activities.

I have been an English teacher at Pratthanadee Foundation for 5 months. I am very impressed with the Foundation’s accomplishment and strongly believe that the current training programs provided are excellent curriculums. The Better Me Program, in particular, has a solid foundation and is packed with impactful activities.
My experience as an English teacher here has been very rewarding. I have high respect for my students for their strong determination. They choose to spend their free time (only 1 day off per week) to better themselves. The main goal is being able to use the English skill to enhance and progress at work. I am amazed at their consistent progress and dedication. More importantly, they have all-together created a very friendly and soul-nourishing learning environment at our Wed class. I am so thankful for this fulfilling experience.
Finally, I would like to thank Khun Yada and the foundation’s admin team for being so professional, supportive, and caring. You all have done an excellent work. Thank you.

[A story from - Fiona Hamilton]
It's fabulous! Pratthanadee is well organised and provides wonderful education for the women who take the courses. The women in the office are helpful and caring. I am always amazed that many of the women I teach have only one day a week they don't have to work and they choose to spend half of it studying English. All power to them! I am pleased to be able to contribute in a small way.

Pratthanadee is a wonderful organization with very dedicated staff and volunteers. Their passion is clear and shown through the excitement and confidence of the women who enter the program. I am so happy to have the opportunity to volunteer with them and meet many friendly people. The work Pratthanadee is doing is remarkable and life-changing.
[A story from - Sumaetin Saengtriratnukul]
Though I haven’t had much time to participate in the foundation’s activities these days, my full-15-year-long period of volunteering there can speak for itself. I started with the idea of giving back to the society, but ended up with being given. The rewarding time when I served as an English teacher has been proved one of the best moments in my life. Seeing the students having a better life and being capable of more English efficiency have resided and had a special place in my memory. Thriving to help more women in Thailand, the foundation later expanded its mission to more than the original English and Computer courses. Empowering them is worth all the effort. Life is genuinely bettered with the foundation, life of the students and the volunteers alike.
This is an amazing organization. I volunteer weekly to help teach English to a group of inspiring women. I find the commitment impressive that they come to learn on the only free day they have each week. The fact they feel so connected with each other is due to the lovely atmosphere at Pratthanadee. This semester we have some newcomers and they have been welcomed by the returnees and immediately made to feel part of the group. It's such a supportive environment; we can have a good laugh and also learn at the same time. They often get together during the week to practice.
The administrative team at Pratthanadee is really helpful and very supportive. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering here - I have a busy work schedule it would be much easier to sleep in on a Sunday morning but I get such joy from working with my wonderful group of women that it makes it all worthwhile. I am sure it's more important for me than them! If I can't come due to work commitments they immediately find a sub so I know my class will still enjoy getting together and learning.
I find the Better Me program inspirational and applaud all that this foundation is doing to better the lives of underprivileged women in Thailand.
I have volunteered with the Pratthanadee Foundation since the beginning of this year, initially as a substitute teacher, and then as a regular teacher. I can confirm that this organisation does a great job, and is fully committed to the women that it serves. I know from my own students that their work is invaluable with regard to skills building, confidence building as well as a very cherished social outlet for the women. The students themselves are fully committed to working on their English language skills - I have been nothing but impressed with their enthusiasm to learn, coming in as they do on their only day off during the week. The full-time employees are highly professional and have the best interests of all the women at heart. I have nothing but praise for Pratthanadee, and am so pleased I decided (and was given the opportunity) to work for them as a volunteer teacher. Thank you!
You will not find a better Non Profit Organization to support like the Pratthanadee Foundation. Every dollar of your donation is used to support the programs that help assist the students with education, life skills and improving their lives. They have a tremendous hard working staff who have dedicated their lives to help others. I recommend that you visit www.pratthanadee.org and make a donation today.

I've been volunteering at Pratthanadee Foundation on and off for a few years now, and would definitely recommend it!
The staff are wonderful, the students are so caring, it feels like one big family.
Nowadays, we live in such a selfish society that values the individual over the community. Teaching English at Pratthanadee has given me something money can't buy - peace of mind. Volunteering meant that for a once a week, for just a few hours, I could get away from all of my problems and give back to the local community.
Overall, the experience has and continues to be rewarding.
You'll meet some great people, make some wonderful friends, and learn about yourself.
Try it!
I've been volunteering to teach an English class at Pratthanadee Foundation for almost two months. I contacted the foundation basically looking to make myself useful for someone else and wanted to begin with the basic skill and so I volunteered as an English teacher. Teaching this kind of English class isn't the usual 'to-pass-the-test-within-the-time-frame' kind of class. It is to get the students to actually be able to use English and to really get better at using English. Thus, students are really interested in learning. It has been fun and fulfilling to be involved with this foundation. The staffs are very lovely and supportive. and the students are nice and active in learning. I've also been following other activities provided by the foundation and found that they are covering varieties of aspects in woman's life.
It has been a year since I started working with pratthanadee foundations as a volunteer teaching an English class. Most students started from basic A B C and impressively developed their english skill over times, showing strong determination to improve themselves. The staffs are friendly and supportive of overall learning experience and class arrangements. I felt thankful to the founder, committee, staffs and also the donors who help keeping this foundation and the courses running. It really creates positive impact to the students' lives as well as the volunteers'. Sharing with you a photo of my class, very energetic and joyful students.
Being a volunteer at Pratthanadee foundation is an honor to me. This is a great opportunity for me to share my knowledge and experience to other people. I would like to thank you the foundation for giving me this opportunity.
The foundation has impressed me in many ways. The first one is that it is professionally run by a group of dedicated people. It gives the participants not only opportunities to study English language, but also the holistic way of life planning. Also, it has clear schedule for a participant to see what will happen during the program. Moreover, all facilities are designed for maximum use to deliver great learning atmosphere.
Lastly, I wish the foundation all the success and be with Thai society forever.
I happened to know Pratthanadee Foundation through the introduction of a friend when I first moved to Bangkok. At first it was just for fun but it lasts until now that I decided to register as a long-term volunteer at this organization.
I really admire the energy of these women, each one has a different situation, a different job, a family to take care of but they all take the time to come here _ Pratthanadee Foundation at least once a week to learn, perfect themself to have a brighter future for their family. Seeing them work hard and laughing together, I feel my efforts are all worthwhile.
Besides, as an English volunteer, I am not only a teacher but also a learner, I learn a lot from each student as well as the staff here everyday. It is not only about life, language, Thai culture but also about love for each other as a family.
Thank you Pratthanadee Foundation so so much for giving me this opportunity. Being part of this organization makes my life more fun and meaningful. I had such an amazing time and precious memories with wonderful students here, the staffs are very helpful and caring, they become my friends, helped me a lot with my new life in Bangkok.
Volunteering at Pratthanadee gives you an opportunity to change people's lives, including my own. Prathanadee is they are not simply a foundation, they are family. The staff there not only care about teaching English, but they also have soft skill classes for students to improve their life. Another thing I love at Pratthanadee is teaching Eglish here has helped me improve my public speaking skill a lot. I still remember how my legs were shaking at the first time I stood in front of 9 Thai women, trying to explain to them the past tense. It's over a year since that day and now I can speak, not 100% confident, but much more better than the first time, at least my legs don't shake whenever I have to speak in front of many people.
I have been involved with Pratthanadee Foundation for a number of years, as a volunteer teacher. The foundation's core mission is to assist underprivileged Thai women through education and vocational training. There has been some outstanding results with this work, with the self esteem and opportunities for many of the women improving dramatically.
The non-volunteer staff are also very much dedicated to helping the foundation's clients improve their life skills. The staff work very hard and are quite empathetic to each woman's situation. It is a privileged to be involved with the Pratthanadee Foundation.

I am a former career police officer and I have been involved with Pratthanadee Foundation (PF) for a number of years, working as a volunteer English teacher. PF exists solely to assist, encourage, and develop disadvantaged Thai women. The staff at the foundation are fantastic. They are very dedicated, and really believe in what they are doing. The various life programs, including English, are well thought out and certainly assist the women going forward.
However the real motivation for me comes from the students themselves. They are keen to learn, and they make it an absolute pleasure to teach, their enthusiasm is quite contagious! Some travel for over an hour each way just to spend three hours in the classroom. Seeing them each week and observing their gradual improvement is incredibly rewarding.
I wish the best of luck for all involved in PF, it has been a pleasure. Thank you. Allen Cooper
Thank you for giving me a chance to be a teaching volunteer with Pratthanadee Foundation.
I’m not disappointed that I’ve dedicated my time to teach with this foundation:
All students are very enthusiastic about learning, as the staff are very friendly and helpful .
I’m glad to be a part of improving the quality of disadvantage Thai women for a better life.

It is my pleasure to be part of this nonprofit foundation. I have been a volunteer teacher for 5 months . My dream goal is to maximize my students' uncovered potential which they all have already had. I have learned and realized that their smiles and happiness during and after class are priceless. I'm really appreciated that there is someone who care about others and created a place as a platform of learning and raise them up. I strongly believe that all good will will be paid off. I wish Pratthanadee Foundation is the first door to their bright and fruitful future :-)
I have been volunteer teaching with Pratthanadee Foundation for the past 10 months. I was looking to join an organization that not only educated woman but empower and develop their skills so they can better their situation. My students inspire me every week - they have a thirst for knowledge and I am so impressed with how far they have come over the months. We have built a strong relationship and I am so proud to be assisting them on their journey. The staff have been amazing and are really dedicated towards improving the lives of these woman. I am so honoured to be a part of Pratthandee – they really are doing an amazing job and may they continue to educate and develop woman across Thailand.
Cozy. Inspiring. And Delightful.
Those all I could say about my experiences at Pratthanadee Foundation. I was a volunteer in teaching English for almost 3 months and I must say this is one of the most precious experiences I have ever had.
It's amazing to teach these lovely women. And I was very surprised by their ingenuity and characteristics. I believe that every woman deserves an opportunity to change their life for the better. They make me feel like a small family and remind me of my mother and sisters in Vietnam. Every class is so moving and full of positive energy.
Besides, Pratthanadee's staffs are very supportive and helpful. I was very pleased with how they treated us volunteers and wish them all best luck in the upcoming future.
In my last words, I hope there will be more people recognizing and sharing with this amazing Foundation.
My name is Suppapong. I have been doing an English teaching volunteer for Pratthanadee Foundation for a few months now. Professionally, I work full time as a Human Resources Manager in Bangkok. I had always looked for an opportunity to use my strengths to help better Thai society. Pratthanadee Foundation helps me fulfill my calling.
I teach a class of about 10 students who are women with little knowledge of English. The class is 3 hours on Sunday. Our lessons started with basic English alphabets and numbers. It then progress through basic everyday English usage such as greeting, saying good bye, introduce friends, etc. We are now moving toward more and more advanced lessons. I find doing this teaching volunteer very fulfilling. My students are very enthusiastic. They really want to be better in English. And they work very hard. It is very rewarding seeing students apply what they learn in their work and personal life.
The staffs at Pratthanadee Foundation are also very friendly, helpful, and supportive. The foundation not only provide English lesson, but also other useful training such as life planning, and basic rights that women should know. They even provide a personal mentor that women who participate in the program can turn to whenever they need someone to consult with.
Again, thanks so much for giving me an opportunity to do the volunteer work here. Giving the fact that many of Thai women are classified as so-called under privilege, what the Pratthanadee Foundation does directly contribute to the social development of Thailand. I learn that many women who complete the program with the Foundation become successful in their professional career. They can earn more, and can apply what they learn from the program to improve the quality of their life as a whole.
I can’t wait to see this free life-changing program and initiative reach out to a larger number of under privilege women and girls in Thailand.
I've been teaching English and really enjoy interacting with the students and staff!
The staff are all very pleasant and so helpful!
The students are very respectful and eager to learn English. I can see their improvement in English over the past 3 months, since I began teaching!
I get great support from the staff! They always create a positive and comfortable environment for the students and myself.
I have recommended Pratthanadee to some of my friends who may offer their skills in support of the organization.
I have been volunteering at Pratthanadee Foundation for just over 9 months and actually look forward to my classes. I teach Basic Conversation to a small group of Thai women aged 17-40 plus and enjoy it immensely. i have the greatest respect for these women who not only work long hours to support their families but show true ambition and want to improve their English and make better lives for themselves and their loved ones. I think the Pratthanadee Foundation are doing a fantastic job and assisting disadvantaged to 'better' themselves. It is my pleasure to be involved in just a small way with an organization that is trying to make a difference.

I'm working with Pratthanadee foundation since June as a internship student from Thammasat university major in social policy development. Ever since I start working here I always get inspiration every single day from staff and student. This also make me aware that many women are really need help to develop their skill and I'm proud to be part of this foundation to provide these women not just English skill but be their friend through their journey of their life.
My time with Pratthanadee has been entirely wonderful! Everything about the organization is an inspiration, form their stellar staff to their dedicated volunteers, and also their beneficiaries. I have been involved in the nonprofit and NGO sector for a long while, but never have I seen an organization so kindly and quietly dedicated to making an unparalleled impact on the lives of countless underprivileged Thai women and girls.
The foundation has actually given me a sense of living. From a person who always dream of doing volunteer job but never actually dare to do it. Pratthanadee Foundation is the first foundation that I volunteered with. They do not fail my expectation at all. I started off with being a mentor which only requires me to be there once a month and now I'm a regular teacher.
The staff are super nice. You can feel that they are doing everything for the best of the student and there's no hidden agenda. The students are dedicated to learn. I always look forward to the class and always thinking about new ways of teaching to make it enjoyable.
My 10-year of teaching English at Pratthanadee Foundation has been both enjoyable and rewarding. It always brings me great satisfaction to see students blossoming with self confidence, with enthusiasm in learning and the desire to better themselves in every aspect of their lives. Needless to say, mine has been enriched as well!
Teaching English at Pratthanadee Foundation has been valuable and rewarding experience in my life. My students are lovely and highly motivated. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication to learn and improve their English skills. I look forward to working with them every weekend.
The team customizes courses, workshop, training, actions, for Thai Woman. French expat, working in hospitality industry, i was looking for a way to participate to a better future here in Thailand. The Pratthanadee foundation trust me through workshops and together we live wonderful moments with fantastic woman.
I have been volunteering with Pratthanadee Foundation for over a year, teaching English to under privileged Thai women. It is a joy to come in every week as the students are highly motivated to learn English. The foundation also runs classes such as computer classes, self defence skills and interview preparation to help students become more well-rounded which helps them to get better jobs. I greatly enjoy my time there and look forward every week to my class.
I teach English once a week as a volunteer at Pratthanadee Foundation. Working at Prattanadee is one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences of my life. The students are highly motivated to learn and appreciative of the teacher's efforts. I am a retired secondary school teacher and also a college instructor with over 20 years of experience so I can say with confidence that Pratthanadee is one of the best places to teach. The staff, too, is quite professional and caring. It is a pleasure to teach there and to be involved with all the staff and students.
I am a volunteer with Pratthanadee. I teach there once a week. From the moment I walk into the building I feel energised. It´s such a privilege to be part of this. The students are motivated and a joy to work with. The staff is engaged and caring in natural, non-patronising way. We all need more people like them.
This charity has a powerful and vital mission, and is steadfast in its commitment to empowering disadvantaged women and girls. Importantly, Pratthanadee thinks big whilst understanding the detail of how to help each and every person that participates in its training. By their being rooted in delivering meaningful outcomes, I feel as a donor that my support is helping to improve the futures of individual women and girls, and contributing in a small way towards something even bigger and better for Thailand as a whole. I recommend Pratthanadee as an excellent steward of philanthropy and a charity that has a bold path towards delivering lasting impact.
I have volunteered as both an English teacher and as a translator at Pratthandee Foundation. The lives of these women that the foundation works with have improved significantly and the foundation is making real impact everyday. As a volunteer, I was touched by the women that I taught and I could see how empowered they become after attending classes and workshops at Pratthanadee Foundation. They were able to find better jobs and/or learn to negotiate for better employment terms. I have seen how crucial Pratthanadee Foundation's work is, and I cannot tell you enough how important Pratthanadee Foundation's work is to everyone in Thailand.
I have links with Goodwill Bangkok for a good number of years.I am very impressed with the work of Khun Beer and Khun Ann and staff. They are very professional and committed.I have done some relief teaching and supported a number of programs at Goodwill. It is a very successful organisation and it's focus on disadvantaged Thai women is very purposeful. It has expanded it's programs and achieved considerable success since it's inception. I have found the students to be very appreciate of the opportunities they have been given. The students are a joy to teach.Very enthusiastic and engaged. The staff are caring and professional. They are always friendly and welcoming. I wish students and staff every success in the future.
I'm a volunteer for the project: "Textile Collecting 4 Charity" and a volunteer submitted English teacher. The mission , programs and goals Goodwill Group Foundation has is a perfect match with my principles. I always feel welcome at the office and the staff is great. I wish the Textile Collecting project will grow from collecting, business and office clothing for Goodwill's beneficiaries into a big fundraising project.
I have been teaching here fore over a year, the smile and appreciation from students have been an integral part in keeping me motivated to teach here. Goodwill's work reaches out to women in the most disadvantaged part in Thailand, educating them and preventing them from falling into a vicious cycle of life. Knowing that you can be part of the change you want to see makes you appreciate your life even more.
I have been a substitute English teacher several times at Goodwill Foundation and really enjoy it. The women are bright, funny and eager to learn. I will continue to volunteer my time there as long as I am in BKK.
I was finding where I could contribute and pay it forward back to the world. Goodwill gave me the resource needed and matched me with those in need of my skill. The staff try their best to make things run smoothly. I feel thankful for receiving such opportunity.
I am a volunteer at Goodwill and have nothing but great things to say about this humble foundation situated in the corner of a quiet soi. The staff and students alike work really hard in what they do. Coming from Singapore, where I have been privileged enough to receive quality education, I wanted my students to be able to learn the things I did too. My students - the oldest being almost 60 - are hardworking and always willing to learn. Classes run in 3 hour blocks, for example 9 - 12. Many students attend classes on Sundays at 9 am and that's their only free day out of the whole week. How motivated they are inspires me to continue teaching. What I really like about the foundation is that it does not run like a 'school' or 'tuition centre' where only lessons are given and that's it. There are strong relationships being built between the students and volunteers/staff and it makes it cosy to be at the centre where it was informal, relaxing, and fun. The centre also regularly helps to conduct useful workshops (such as Job Interview workshops) and turnouts have been great. The centre posts job listings on a board and helps students with job placement and facilitating interviews with the employers too.
Outside of the centre, Goodwill does outreach programmes to slums and provinces on important skills such as Self Defense and First Aid workshops.
There are many NGOs out there with different cause - and they are all commendable in their own rights. However, for an NGO to specifically seek to empower disadvantaged women is the first that I've come across in Thailand. It is a cause close to my heart and given how vulnerable these women are (in terms of getting into the wrong trades), I really hope that Goodwill can be given its due recognition and continue to expand and help more women in Thailand, especially those who moved from the rural areas into Bangkok, in hope for a better job.
Teaching ESL at The Goodwill Group Foundation has been the most rewarding volunteer experience of my life. The students, staff, and my fellow volunteers have been incredibly welcoming and appreciative, and I've made friendships with people from around the world that will last a lifetime. This is not a charity with a lot of administrative overhead; you can be assured that the time and money donated is used efficiently to help the truly needy.
A quick personal story: The second time I was scheduled to teach a class at Goodwill, I woke up in the morning feeling very weak and under the weather. Had it been a normal paid class I would definitely have called in sick and stayed on bed, but in this case I did not want to disappoint. By the end of the three hour class, I'd received so much positive energy back from the students that I felt completely refreshed and back to good health. In fact, I feel that all the effort I've given at Goodwill has been paid back to me tenfold by way of good feelings and priceless shared experiences.
If you volunteer at the Goodwill Group, I'm sure you'll find that two things will happen. Firstly, you will find new resources within yourself and be amazed at how much you are able to give. Secondly, you'll find that you will get more than you give.
The Goodwill Group Foundation has been open for 15 years. I was privileged enough to volunteer in their first year and now again in their 15th. They offer much needed services to Thai women. These women have had their lives changed through the educational services offered a GGF. An extraordinary step that Goodwill has done is to offer outreach in the rural areas of Thailand. There they educate women about the dangers, pitfalls of living in the city (Bangkok). Even so, knowing they will eventually come to the city regardless, they offer survival strategies. I have seen for myself how Goodwill changes iives. Many of my former students have good jobs and good lives now, all thanks to the good work that is done at the Goodwill Group Foundation.
As a part of my Canadian university degree, I did a 3-month placement with the Goodwill Group Foundation last year. Not only was I deeply moved by the initiatives started by Goodwill for women and young girls in the community, I also became so inspired by the dedicated staff members, motivated volunteers and passionate students at the foundation. My placement remains to be one of the most valuable learning experiences I have ever had throughout my academic career. I am so thankful to have had a chance to work with such an incredible organization!
I am a recent volunteer with the Goodwill Group Foundation but have thoroughly enjoyed the last few months serving with this outstanding organization. The staff are dedicated, organized, extremely caring, and have a genuine love for each woman who comes through their doors. I am impressed with how much the staff is able to accomplish along with the incredible volunteers I have been privileged to work alongside of. The staff does a great job of effectively placing their volunteers in areas that match their expertise and abilities. Goodwill does not stray from their mission which is to improve the quality of life of young Thai women via skills training and career services. The many different programs offered along with the personal interaction with the staff and volunteers give women the chance to develop in these specific areas. The women I have encountered have come from many different places and backgrounds and each one has her own unique story and talents which makes them such a joy to work with. I have never left Goodwill without a generous and warm "thank-you" from both the students and staff. It is an honor to be a part of such an effective and caring group of people.
When I arrived in Bangkok as an expat, I was keen to do volunteer work with an organisation that supported disadvantaged women and children. I contacted Goodwill after reading about their organisation. As my background is in public policy, I offered to support the team with any help they needed with editing documents in English or preparing grant applications. I was very pleased to be involved with such a great organisation. Although the team is small, I was impressed with the volume of activity they have underway, their personal support to clients and the strong research base underpinning their work. The staff treat everybody - clients, volunteers and each other - with dignity and respect and are always looking for positive ways to expand what they can do to support disadvantaged women.
I feel privileged to have been volunteering at Goodwill since 2010. The staff, as the first point of contact , are knowledgeable, dedicated, friendly, make you want to return to continue giving your best efforts. They follow up on the class progress , listen to any difficulties you may encounter and seek solutions, and always keep the interests of the students paramount. Ah ! the students , their eagerness to learn make you realise the importance of education as a stepping stone to a better quality of life and the impact it can have on their lives and their children's lives. It makes you appreciate that you can make a difference and you feel humbled by the experience. Whether to evolve an practical teaching system for usage in daily conversation in their workplace or tailor make a work vocabulary relevant to their employment is always fun. To know you can be a tool to open their eyes, ears and minds to the the ever changing world is also satisfying. You can never under estimate the importance of communication skills and how it can change your attitude, bolster your confidence and give you a much needed lift. Being a volunteer here teaches me never to take anything for granted. It is gratifying work and I do get fulfillment and pride from their progress and their determination to better themselves. I always harbour the thought ..."there but for the grace of God, go I"
To the staff and the students of Goodwill, know that I get back from you as much I am able to give. It is truly a two way street. Together, we can strive forward
I have been volunteerIng as an English teacher at Goodwill for 4 years now. The foundation brings together volunteers and students and in addition to English, offers computers, self defense, interview training and job placement. Goodwill is a simple direct organization that maximizes its impact with minimal administration. There is never a day that the staff and students don't warmly thank me for being there. There is never a day that I don't feel better after teaching than before. I feel happy to be able to give something to this great country through such an effective organization.
I think that the work that the GWG are doing is very worthy and important; the genuinely positive impact that the team are having on people's lives is apparent the moment you arrive at the Asok school, and I'm sure the same can be said of their other enterprises. I am currently studying for a CELTA qualification and will be back to GWG as soon as I graduate!
I've been volunteering at Goodwill since the year 2000. After 12 years here, I think I've gained more than I've given. The foundation is actually helping disadvantaged women in Thailand through many programs, apart from the English classes that I've taught. The foundation has been trying to improve its programs to better help them. From just English and Computer classes and some job placements, now the programs have flourished - Self-defense, job training and so on. Witnessing their lives improved, I keep coming back to help them throughout the years. I'm still now a volunteer and certain that I will do it as long as I can.
I volunteered at the Goodwill Group Foundation in Bangkok as an English teacher for 7 months this year. As a fully qualified English language teacher with 10 years teaching experience worldwide, I can honestly say that volunteering at Goodwill was the most rewarding experience I have had in my teaching career. Not only is the Goodwill Group team extremely professional and committed, but they are also very welcoming, appreciative, positive and organised. The work that Goodwill are doing is of great benefit to the disadvantaged Thai women who continue to use their services year after year. In turn, these women are motivated, dedicated and appreciative of the opportunities being offered to them to improve their future. Coupled with the supportive environment and the team's dedication to the wellbeing of these women, Goodwill Group Foundation really is a remarkable place and I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to work with such a great organisation.
I first encountered the Goodwill Group website while travelling in America. I sent an email to Mr. Kurt Heck who invited me to visit the office when I came to Bangkok. I did so on a Monday in August 2002, and I entered my first classroom. I had never taught English before but the students were ever so willing to learn and I had so much fun. I took that class for about a week and, having enjoyed it so much, went back to Australia with a new purpose. I returned to Bangkok after a little while and tried to help out at Goodwill whenever I could. I took a job at a government school on the strength of my Goodwill experience. I cannot ever repay Goodwill for my 'apprenticeship'. Today, I am unfortunately tied up most days of the week but I try to offer my services as a substitute teacher at weekends if I'm free. Whilst conducting classes, I have been able to witness the incredible job which this foundation is doing for its members. The members who come to classes every week have a wonderful attitude, they try so hard to advance their English skills, and the foundation is constantly looking for new ways to help them into their futures. I feel humbled that this foundation doing so much to help their fellow Thais. The selfless dedication from Enrique, Kurt, Beer, Nang and all others I haven't mentioned, deserves some recognition. I salute them and wish that the foundation may long continue to benefit the underprivileged. My sincere thanks for their help to me.
I've been a donor to Goodwill since its early days, but being so far away it was difficult to fully appreciate what an amazing and positive impact it has on the students it serves. Now that I live in Bangkok, I have the opportunity to see that up close, and also witness the tireless dedication of its staff and other volunteers. It is especially impressive to see the foundation's determination to focus on fundamental improvements to the student's lives, such as by insisting on self-defense and first-aid courses as prerequisites before students can take the more attractive courses. The biggest endorsement I can give good Goodwill is that I now not only donate money, but I volunteer my time, which is more valuable to me.
Goodwill Group Foundation is organized and disciplined. The women you teach as a volunteer are dedicated and a lot of fun. You always leave feeling like you made good progress and a difference in their lives.
I am a Spanish teacher and had the opportunity of visiting The Good Will Group School while being in Bangkok at the time. I was impressed by the mission of the Good Will Group. I offered myself to teach an English class and was highly impressed as well by the genuine motivation of all the students with whom I came in contact and with the unselfish dedication of its volunteers who are committed to the mission of this establishment.
I first came to know Goodwill Group Foundation from an article in a local English newspaper many years back when I was looking for a place that I could use my ability to make a good cause. Soon after that, I contacted GGF and talked with the manager, Khun Beer, at that time, about my interest in being a volunteer for the Foundation. I was told that a English teaching volunteer was required to commit his time of teaching at least for a period of 10 weeks for one class. It was quite a commitment to make for me who had not been done anything like this before. But I gave it a try in 1995 and since then I have built a long relationship with GGF friends and my students and still enjoy teaching there whenever they need a substitute teacher.
Along the course of my involvement with GGF, I have come to learn and seen it on the first hand about their main objective. That is to provide the underprivileged women with English language, computer, and other occupation-related skills for their career development and advancement.
Every time I visit the Foundation either for a teaching class or just a drop-by, I always see old and new faces of students coming to classes and feel the atmosphere of enthusiasm among my students despite that many of them have to work fulltime 6 days a week. This, I believe, is because they believe that after their hardworking in the class, there will be many good opportunities waiting for them ahead. :)
Recently I was told that the Foundation was setting up its second office in an upcountry of Thailand to serve the students there. I think it is a good initiative and believe that with the second office, people in that rural area and its vicinities will benefit from this as much as those in Bangkok.
So, after all of what I wrote above, I just want to say that if you are looking for a place to make a charity. I think GGW could be one of your choices. Any kind supports from you would make a difference to them and its students.
PS: If you don’t have time to help teaching people how to catch a fish, GGF will do that for you and they always need your kind supports! :)
Have a good day everyone & Enjoy your life!
Best,

I was a volunteer to teach English for Goodwill back in 2008. This organisation really cares about disadvantaged women and actively helps them to have a better life. Some of them get paid really low, because they don't have the knowledge, skills and don't have the opportunity to learn. This organisation supports them by giving them education, knowledge and train them or even help them to start a new business, if they have a good business plan.
What I was doing is to teach English. You wouldn't believe that if they could speak English or just a basic conversation they would really get a much better job and much better life and a much better job. It was the best experience for me to help them. I would really do that again if I have a chance.
