Causes: Climate Change, Environment
Mission: The climate group (tcg) is an independent tax exempt organization that works with government and business leaders to advance the smart policies and technologies needed to cut global green house gas emissions. Together, we aim to unlock a clean industrial revolution, a low carbon economy that will unleash a new wave of wealth and job creation.
Programs: Our us activities in fy 2013 - 2014 included the following activities and impacts: climate week nyc 2013, new york, usa: with 2013 marking its fifth year, climate week nyc established itself as a milestone in new york's calendar and as a key international forum around the low carbon economy. It brought together the world's most influential business and government leaders in an exciting array of over 50 public-facing events, all focused on driving a swift, massive scaling-up of clean technologies to create jobs and boost the economy. In 2013 (september 23 - 30), climate week nyc was more visible and transformational than ever before. A grand coalition of leaders assembled to tell the world it is time to move beyond division and endless debate, and time to act immediately. Under the theme of "leadership, opportunity, security", global leaders from across the political spectrum - including world bank president, us special envoy for climate change, and former uk pm - came together at the climate week nyc opening ceremony to call for a shift from the debate on science to action on the low carbon economy. We reached an audience of 900m in the us and around the world; the climate week nyc brand was on the tv screens of 100m people; we were featured in approximately 700 media articles; and we reached 2. 6m twitter accounts. Climate week nyc 2013 was covered in numerous major media outlets, including: the daily telegraph; bloomberg; time; the huffington post; and the weather channel.
