Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running and overall physical activity.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 2,060 girls with the support of 665 volunteers
Geographic areas served: Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess & Ulster counties
Programs: Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program for 3rd-8th grade girls. Over the course of ten weeks, girls meet in small teams led by trained volunteer coaches to move their bodies and participate in fun interactive lessons that teach life skills while training for a 5K. Each season concludes with a community impact project and celebratory 5K event, empowering girls with a tangible sense of achievement and providing a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
