I have been working at The Road Ahead for the past 8ys. I first began working as an intern and now as a licensed MFT in providing therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. RAFS offers a great trauma based training for MFT trainees as RAFS has given me the skills in utilizing a multidisciplinary approach including Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-focused Therapy, Narrative therapy, and Family Systems therapy in helping people deal with severe trauma-related issues including involvement with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The employees at RAFS have been great to work with and have consistently provided a safe, warming, and supportive environment for clients, trainees, and other professional personnels. RAFS has been great at consistently providing the community with mental health services in English/Spanish for individual therapy, psychoeducation groups, monitored visitations, and meeting court approved program requirements. Overall, RAFS has been a great contributor to my journey as a therapist!

Client typically report experiencing a warm and accepting environment. The facility specializes in trauma and provides solution focused and trauma informed CBT treatment in the form of individual, couples, family, and psycho-educational group therapy.

I am currently working as a therapist in training at the Road Ahead Family Services. RAFS provides a welcoming environment for clients and staff. At RAFS I am learning how to use evidence based treatments and solution focused theory to help clients with a variety of challenges. Clients often share their thoughts on how well they are being treated by fellow therapists and staff at the agency. RAFS continues to be a great place for me to build my skills as a therapist while providing direct service to people in the community.

I worked as a therapist in training for a hear and half at the Road Ahead Family Services. RAFS provides a welcoming environment for clients that are experiencing devastating challenges. My time as a therapist at RAFS was invaluable. I worked with a variety of clients experiencing a variety of challenges while learning and practicing evidenced based treatments. Clients at RAFS report feeling seen and heard and that a testament to the staff and Carla.

I have worked at this center a little over a year. I have to say that it has given me great experience with providing community based mental health services at a non-profit clinic. Also, extensive opportunity to develop skills in applying trauma-focused CBT therapy and working with a variety of issues ,including victims of crime. The staff is very warm and easy going. Supervision is more than expected.Carla is an amazing supervisor who has helped me improve my skills and learn so much since I first began. Great supportive environment that provides quality service to the community.
