Mission: Our mission is to promote the health and fitness of anyone 50 years and better, while stimulating tourism in the city of Mesquite Nevada.
Target demographics: seniors age 50 and better to stay active both mentally and physically.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 1000 people!
Geographic areas served: Mesquite Nevada
Programs: The games continue to attract senior athletes from the western states and beyond looking for a venue where the healthy expression of their talents is appreciated. Attendance was similar in 2011 to the attendance in 2010. The games continue to generate local participation by advertising in local newspapers and the distribution of fliers throughout the area. The mesquite senior games attracted approximately 1,400 to 1,500 senior athletes in 2011, which is comparable to 2010 but up from 2009 which had approximately 400 participants. The games continue to reach out to all senior athletes, promoting health and an active life style through our support of the mesquite health fair, mesa view hospital and the chamber of commerce.
