Mission: To restore the Quinnipiac River and its watershed for the health and enjoyment of the citizens and communities along its reach, and to educate students, families, individuals, businesses and governments to be informed stewards of the river. Quinnipiac River Watershed Association is the only organization dedicated solely to the restoration and enjoyment of the Quinnipiac River.

Geographic areas served: Quinnipiac Watershed, towns from New Haven to Plainville
Programs: Student Training Programs QRWA volunteers teach canoeing skills to area schools, youth clubs and Quinnipiac University students demonstrating how to become stewards of the river. QRWA also trains students CT DEEP protocol in collecting samples from the river to monitoring water quality. The 3M/QRWA/High School Environmental Education Program includes field trips to the QRWA headquarters where students from area high schools can participate in "hands on" projects both physical and chemical testing for water quality, an also receive lessons in kayaking, fishing and tie-fly instructions. Students also experience raising trout in the classroom with a release of the trout celebration at Hanover Pond and Red Bridge in Meriden. Buffers QRWA began four (4) demonstration projects with muncipalities to restore vegetation along rivers and streams. We arge for more protective buffers in land developments to protect water quality and wildlife.
