Jen is an amazing caretaker to the cats and goes above and beyond for them everyday. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to other rescuers and provide advice. Jen is an inspiration for other cat lovers!
I don't know that words can express my gratitude and appreciation for Doodle's Ranch and Jennifer. In addition to the dozens of cats she cares for daily, she extends her care in person, online and over the phone.
When my cat, Davis had symptoms of diabetes, I was panicked and at a loss on how to help him. Even my vet was limited to advise on the level of care I could provide him. I contacted Jenn whom I knew helped her own Diabetic kitties, like Doodle, their namesake.
Jenn did a thorough assessment of my situation and helped me feel like it was manageable, which was my biggest concern. She suggested some things I could purchase and found her way to our home to educate us on how to test Davis blood sugar. She was kind, warm, funny and easy to work with. Davis and his sister of course took right to her. And I was on my way to better understanding and managing my boy's new health condition.
Without Doodle's Ranch, I don't know what we would have done. I'm eternally grateful for Jennifer and her devotion to all cats because she believes and so do I, that every cat deserves a chance. I am proud to be part of this important and very valuable organization.
Doodle's Ranch and Sanctuary has two main functions. They take in cats that may otherwise be euthanized due to treatable problems, including diabetes. But they also educate people in how to take care of their own cats, and manage their health in their own homes. I've greatly benefited from the education that they do.
I used to volunteer to help out with Doodle's as well, but they moved out of my area.
Doodles Is a great place! It’s mission and effort for special needs cats is truly unrivaled . Jen goes above and beyond in the care of all her sanctuary kitties !
I have known Jen since before Doodles became a 401c. We met on Facebook through the mutual health conditions of our cats. Jen helped guide me and is always available for assistance, suggestions, and at times just even moral support. She is the strongest woman I know who truly puts the well being of 40+ cats above and beyond her own. She has been, and will hopefully continue to be, a blessing to the special needs cat population.
I have known Jennifer from many years back when we both had diabetic kitties. It has been an honor to have her as a friend. Most recently, in Saturday, March 21, 2020, I had a 10 month old rescue kitten exhibit signs of urinary blockage. The first person I went to was Jennifer. Her knowledge and love for the cats is immeasurable. She was right there to help me in any way she could. She puts her own needs aside for any cat who needs her help. We ended up having to take out baby to the ER vet and have surgery to insert a cathedar. Had it not been for Jennifer we most definitely would have lost him.
Jen helped to organize the adoption, home check and vetting of a special needs kitty from over 600 miles away from me. She helped bring Milkshake into my life and for that I will be eternally grateful, she was the light of my life. Jen and Doodles has always been there to assist in any capacity or just to talk and help allay some fears. Though Milkshake may no longer be with us (She passed away last year sadly) I will always be thankful to Jen for bringing her into my soul.
As an admin on a popular social media page who networks and secures placement for the most vulnerable population of cats that are scheduled for euthanasia at high kill shelters, I have had the opportunity to work with Jenn on many occasions in the past. She is an upstanding woman and rescue. She is especially knowledgeable about diabetes in cats. She has a heart of gold and has saved so many lives from certain death. She goes above and beyond for the cats!
I met Jennifer in November when my Vet suggested that I surrender one of my cats to her. The cat has issues that no one can figure out. Jennifer was kind enough to let me come visit the cat after she had been there for a few days. From my first visit I was so impressed with the level of care each cat was given. Soon after my 1st visit I wanted to be able to do more to help cats too. I now volunteer there as much as I can and I am learning so much more about cats.
I began following Jenn and Doodle on Facebook before she became a nonprofit. When she moved her organization to Wisconsin I was able to meet her and start volunteering , helping to care for the cats. Now I am also a member of Doodle's Board.
But it is as a client that I was able to see how well Doodle's mission to help others really works. With her support I was able to rescue an old, feral, FIV+, diabetic cat. Clover is now a happy, healthy, snuggle bug who has not required insulin in over 10 months! He sleeps next to me every night! I can definitely say his life was worth saving.
I met Jennifer when I had a question about an FIV+ kitten. She was amazing and was able to calm my fears & show me where to get the most accurate & up to date information. I soon started volunteering at Doodle's, where I met all kids of special needs cats - diabetics, CH cats, cats with FIP, as well as cats with behavioral issues. Doodle's truly is a sanctuary for these cats - a place they call home for the rest of their lives and where they get the medical care they need and the love they deserve, all in a home setting.
I have always loved cats and after adopting a very special senior cat from the NYC ACC in 2017, my mission became saving senior cats from high kill shelters. I met Jennifer (Founder and President of Doodle's Ranch and Sanctuary) after adopting a 20 year old diabetic cat named Smokey from the ACC in 2018. Jennifer saw a post I made in a diabetic cat FB group and reached out to me, generously offering her time and significant knowledge on diabetes to help me care for Smokey. She spent hours with me on the phone, guiding me and eventually consoling me when I lost Simon not long after adopting him. All the while she was giving selflessly of her time, she never told me that she had her own hands full with Doodle's Ranch! After learning of her own mission to save special needs cats, I was even more impressed.
I have come to learn that Doodle's Ranch is an amazing organization that, primarily through Jennifer's efforts and care, saves and houses 40+ special needs cats, ensuring that they always receive the care and medical treatment that they require - no matter the cost or personal sacrifices that she must make for this to happen. Doodle's also helps owners with their cats through education (like she helped me and Smokey), providing owners with donated supplies for testing and medications, and providing a safe haven for the special needs cats who have been abandoned. I haven't come across a more amazing organization than Doodle's.

Thank you so much, Brian! Milkshake was a very lucky kitty and your love for her was well worth any small effort made on my part. - Jennifer
