Alpha Omega Veteran Services in Memphis, TN truly makes a difference serving those who served US. Over the last 7 years our involvement with the AOVS team, Veterans, and the Board has turned into a wonderful friendship/partnership. One of the many services that AOVS provides is counseling for Veterans. Meeting them where Veterans are in life, this service continues to provide the space to say "I am not alright and I need help".

During a recent world event, the AOVS team offered their counselors to the team here. The Veterans were appreciative and the company indebted. Thank you AOVS for all you do for all of us.

I have never seen a group that has done more for a community than Alpha Omega. You can visit any one of their facilities and see first hand the difference they have made in so many lives. Not only do they help well deserving veterans on a daily basis, but their efforts are spilling over to others in need. Their strategic partnerships with other nonprofits is one example as to how they magnify limited resources to help as many in need as they possibly can. Their efforts truly have life changing results and I cant thank them enough for what they do for my brothers and sisters.

I have had the pleasure of partnering with Alpha Omega Services to raise awareness and funds for our homeless veterans. This organization is truly passionate and dedicated to our veterans and assisting them in housing, food, supporting their physical and mental health care needs.
There services range from urban farming, several housing locations and services provided at a range of levels based off the veterans needs.

During the past 2 years Hilton and Alpha Omega Veterans Service has partnered on a number of activities to support the Veterans served by Alpha Omega. It has been a true pleasure to work alongside Cordell Walker, Vicki Azlin and the entire team to support Veterans in need. Cordell and Vicki educated our Team Members on the services provided and the additional needs of the Veterans. We were able to partner on donations, support benefit fund raisers along with hosting a cookout and activities for the resident Veterans. It is humbling and intensely inspiring to experience the immense passion the Alpha Omega Team has for our Veterans in need. Cordell epitomizes the quality of a true leader to run a first rate organization. Our team is so proud to be a part of the Alpha Omega community partnerships in the greater Memphis area.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services is such a fantastic organization! My first time volunteering for AOVS, I had the pleasure of helping cook and serve Thanksgiving dinner for a group of veterans. It ended up being one of the best Thanksgivings I've ever had. I got to spend time with some of the veterans and hear their stories and how AOVS has helped them in so many ways. It makes me so grateful that AOVS exists and especially proud that Memphis has such a great organization to help our veterans. Veteran causes are especially near to my heart and I love how AOVS cares for vets in such a well rounded way. Their staff and board are also outstanding and always so friendly and grateful for support. Alpha Omega Veterans Services is just wonderful.

I like helping organizations that are well managed and serious about what they do. That would be Alpha Omega. When I donate anything, I know Vicki and the crew will make sure the right folks get the right things to make their lives a little better. When I ask what is needed, I always get a solid, honest, straight forward answer.
A man was walking on the beach. He was taking sand dollars that had washed up on the shore and putting them back in the water. They can't live long without the ocean. A little boy walked up and asked...Why are you putting sand dollars back in the ocean? There are millions of them and you can't help them all! The man replied...You are right young man, but I can help these sand dollars.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services, Inc. was founded in 1987 by a Memphis family who had two sons who were Vietnam veterans and they ended up living homeless on the city streets. Since 1988 Executive Director Cordell Walker said AOVS has helped more than 11,000 veterans sign up for their VA benefits, provide them with food, shelter, clothing and training to assisted them in becoming independent and productive citizen who overcame addiction, PTSD, or other issues connected to their military service. I volunteered in 2015 to help Cordell Walker and others to support this valuable mission. AOVS currently houses 140 veteran clients. Our motto is "Helping Veterans Help Themselves".

I first met Cordell Walker 3 years ago when he spoke at our church and told the story of Alpha Omega Veterans. Having served 16 years in the USNR, and 6 years in the Tennessee State Guard I knew I wanted to help veterans as a volunteer and that's how I got started. In 2017 I was elected to serve on the AOVS board and become part of a great community Team. It is a proud and rewarding thing to help our veterans who've suffered and need assistance to rebuild their lives and become a contributing member of our community again. Thank you all for your Military service. J. David W.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services have partnered with our veteran service organization many times over the past few years to serve Memphis's veteran community. Each year they host an outstanding golf tournament that raises money for the homeless veterans they house and provide care for. We have participated in it several times and have always had a great experience. We also partnered with them to tour their facilities and were really impressed with the level of care and services they provide for such a large group of homeless veterans of all ages, gender, race, and creed. They are doing outstanding work in the Memphis area!

Compassionate. Efficient. Effective. Dedicated. Determined. The team at Alpha Omega Veterans Services is that plus so much more.

I was first introduced to the organization by a co-worker. Himself a veteran, he was pursuing a non-profit dedicated to the care of veterans our company could support on our annual day of service. That introduction opened the doors, and our eyes, to the incredible work Alpha Omega does daily.

With more than 30 years of service to Memphis veterans, the team seeks to aid those who find themselves struggling with physical and mental health issues after serving our country. Many of those they serve have also found themselves without homes, support or hope. However, the Alpha Omega team walks alongside to help their clients establish benefits, housing and proper care as they reintegrate into society.

The small team offers transitional housing as they help clients deal with such issues as PTSD, substance abuse, and service-related injuries. With the ultimate goal of healthy self-sufficiency, clients are supported through their process to permanent housing and employment.

Alpha Omega has impacted thousands of people and the only way that can be done so well and so consistently is with love. The entire team, from their executive director to their administrative and facility staffs, functions from a place of loving gratitude to their clients. They don't just work to meet their clients needs, they establish relationships with each so they know they are no longer fighting their battles alone.

My role with my employer is to coordinate efforts to serve our community. We are honored to partner with Alpha Omega Veterans Services as they work to serve those who have served all of us so bravely.

This is the greatest safety net for our veterans who have fallen on hard times in the Mid-South. A faith based organization that addresses conditions that don’t neatly fit into the evolved bureaucracy related to caring for veterans and their unique variety of health conditions. I have seen first-hand the sparkle of hope and strong beat of a renewed heart that the veterans who are clients in this program demonstrate and share in discussion. To think of gaining hope and Being given a new chance to traverse the hardship of their condition and ultimately regain their position in society as a productive, independent member of society. To have a chance to repair the relationships that have been strained as a result of the “bumpy road” recently impacting their lives fuels their souls to not merely endure the process of treatments but prevail from their temporal situation.
The leadership at AOVS (i.e. the board and the executive director and his small staff) is so inspiring and committed to their clients that it sets a shining example for all non-profits supporting our veterans.
For the city of Memphis, there are three great home-grown stars: St Jude, FedEx and Alpha Omega. A world class organization committed to our veterans in need. A worthy cause without the noise of politics - just taking care of our sons and daughters who wore the uniform of the United States Military.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services was one of the first organizations to serve homeless and disabled veterans in the United States. Born out of a mother's love for her two sons that returned from Vietnam suffering from PTSD and ravaged by the effects of Agent Orange. She sought help for them and found none - thus Alpha Omega Faith Homes began in a humble duplex in South Memphis and served 8 veterans. Today it serves up to 140 veterans daily in its six facilities meeting basic needs, food clothing & shelter; continues with recovery, rehabilitation and education assistance. Success is based on having income and permanent, safe and secure housing. In our 30-years we have assisted over 10,000 veterans with over a 90% success rate. It has been a privilege and honor to serve as the Director for this organization for almost 30 years.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services changes lives on a daily basis. Whether providing temporary, permanent supportive housing or making referrals for to displace/disabled veterans, they make a difference. In 30 years, this organization has grown from a single duplex housing 8 veterans to 7 facilities that serve 125-130 veterans daily. Not only do they provide the basics of food, shelter and clothing, Alpha Omega offers and provides access to all the social services needed to fully reintegrate theses veterans back into society such as job training, counseling, transportation to any service they may need; and they have done it with a success rate of 90%.

I am truly in awe of Alpha Omega. For the past three decades, this organization has faithfully helped more than 10,000 military veterans in the Memphis area recover from physical combat and service-related conditions, including anger management, substance abuse, combat stress, PTSD and various mental health disorders. As a result of the housing, food, clothing, transportation and counseling programs provided by AOVS, many of those who served our country now have the chance to successfully rejoin society and engage in healthy, independent living. Alpha Omega’s mission is more important today than it’s ever been and certainly worthy of being one of our community’s top priorities.

Alpha Omega Veterans Services serves those who have put their lives on the line to protect the rest of us. The men and women who have paid a terrible price, their minds and bodies broken by their service or its aftermath, deserve our total and unconditional support to help them attain any goal they want.
