Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Education, Literacy, Remedial Reading & Encouragement
Mission: Reading with Sola aims to eradicate illiteracy within underrepresented groups via the promotion of literacy and the supplying of educational resources while addressing systemic racism and social justice through the power of books and reading. Together, we can normalize reading and help provide children with a foundation for success and a lifelong love of reading by creatively engaging and empowering them.
Results: Reading with Sola works to get books directly into the hands of underrepresented children and schools. Moreover, the organization provides story time, which is one of the most powerful learning experiences for children because they naturally make sense of the world through story and play. Story time promotes language and literacy skills, but also strengthens cognitive and social-emotional skills as well.

Direct beneficiaries per year: we directly helped get books into the hands of hundreds of children spanning the Bahamas, Nicaragua, Manor, Texas and the surrounding areas.
