I've visited this sanctuary on numerous occasions. These animals are relocated to this protected environment from all over the country. Most of these wolves were purchased for pets. Wolves are not pet material, they're wild animals and belong and deserve to be in the wild. The Sanctuary holds educational guided tours on a regular basis during the day and on Full Moon evenings. They also have arts and music festivals to share nature and bring in revenue. The wolves are fed and medically maintained by the sanctuary owners. They are protected from us by heavy fencing. They live in packs and when a wolf is new to the sanctuary, it's kept separated until it can be safely introduced as a healthy addition to an existing pack. The animals are named and they keep to themselves and care for one another within the bounds of pack rules. Visitors can donate and 'adopt' a wolf, photos and the wolf's story as the sanctuary understands it are sent to the donor. It's a wonderful peaceful and educational trip to the Lancaster, PA area.
