Causes: Adult Education, Children & Youth, Education, Literacy, Remedial Reading & Encouragement, Youth Development
Mission: The Capital Area Literacy Coalition helps children and adults learn to read, write and speak English with an ultimate goal of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency. We achieve this through direct services and by ennhancing literacy efforts of community organizations in the Capital Area and throughout the state of Michigan.
Programs: Basic skills tutoring - recruiting and training volunteer tutors
family school partnership - train high school students to tutor elementary students
english as a second language programs for adults and children
succeed - instruction and montoring for children in grade and middle school using volunteer tutors
