Mission: Coonhounds & foxhounds make great family companions and our non-profit advocates for their adoption with our Long Ears Alive vet fund and other programs.
Target demographics: Homeless coonhounds, foxhounds and mixes
Direct beneficiaries per year: 148 homeless coonhounds and foxhounds using our fund in 2023
Geographic areas served: Animal Welfare and Advocacy
Programs: Long Ears Alive veterinarian fund for homeless hounds; Project Hound to rescue one at a time; laminated adoption advocacy posters for shelters and rescues; networking at-risk hounds to help them get out of shelters and into rescues and homes. Coonhounds and foxhounds are usually overlooked in shelters and pounds, leaning to disproportionate euthanasia rates. They are also frequently abandoned when hunting season ends in the south.
