Our family's relationship with OCMS started last year and immediately it became an integral part of our childrens' development. The school provides a nurturing, personalized, and dynamic environment for children to grow emotionally, socially, and academically. The faculty and staff are all closely involved with every child and provide constant feedback to us parents. The classrooms and other facilities are ideally suited for young children to explore and grow in line with their interests and abilities. Our daughter learned to read within the first few months in school and her most proud day of her young life was when she brought her first book home to read to us and to her grandmother over the phone that night. Every ounce of energy and resources that the school has is devoted to the students. Our children love going to school every day and I am confident that their experiences at OCMS will have positive life-long impacts on them.

"Why do you have to go to the hospital again, Mommy?" "Am I going to get cancer like you?" These were some of the questions we were dealing with from our then 5 year old daughter. We answered honestly, careful not to hide information (they always know anyway), and careful not to say too much. I worried about her. I worried that she was worried about me. One of the things that most comforted me was the warm, loving arms of my mother, waiting unconditionally and at any time to comfort her. The other source of joy and centeredness came from OCMS. In a sense, each morning she bounced into school there, and was gently welcomed with smiles, she was walking into a hug. The sense of community at OCMS comes pretty close to a family. During my seemingly endless chemo treatments, I took much solace in the thought that she was happily occupied in such a warm and loving environment. Thanks, OCMS.

Since attending Old Colony Montessori School(OCMS), our daughter has developed a passion for learning and a respect for others. She adores her teachers and is excited about school everyday. We love the activities and programs. It is truly a caring and academic place for my child.

OCMS is truly a special place! I have two children in two different Children's Houses and they've both had different but exceptional experiences. The Montessori method brings its own values and curriculum, but this school is so much more than that...it has history in the teachers that have been there for decades and in some cases first as students now as teachers, it has compassion, love and balance, it has a vibrant, intelligent, and giving family community, it has a sense of calm in this crazy world we live in...it is a community where my children have learned to love learning and been given the gift of curiousity...and it is a community where I have learned to be a better parent, a better teacher, and a better listener. For that, I am eternally grateful to every student, teacher, parent, volunteer, and administrator at the school.

My daughter's experience at Old Colony Montessori School (OCMS) has been exceptional. She is currently in her third year in the Children's House and has gained a wonderful sense of confidence about her own abilities and a sense of appreciation for the world around her. At OCMS, she has learned useful skills as varied as sewing, African Drumming, counting, writing, resolving conflicts... all building a strong foundation for a lifetime love of learning. She continues to thrive in the wonderful and supportive environment that defines OCMS, where the staff truly goes above and beyond... and the parent community steps up their involvement because we all share in a strong commitment to early-childhood education.

My g/daughter's day begins when we roll up to the school where "everybody knows your name." The smiles begin and for the remainder of the day she is surrounded by loving professionals, This year some of the offerings will be Science Sizzlers, Suzuki violin, yoga .Today they were visited by an organic farmer who planted with them at their school. When the summer came the only complaint I heard from my little one was why do we have to have a vacation??"Out of the mouth of babes" I could not praise the teachers more, and the director who is the tops.I have been to other private schools for this age but there is NO comparison to what her experiences are here.

The staff could not be more professional, kind and generous of spirit. I would love to turn back the hands of time to send my two older children here as well!

Since my daughter began attending Old Colony Montessori school, she has grown intellectually, socially and emotionally by leaps and bounds. The staff, parent community and all that volunteer their time at OCMS care so deeply about the students - they come away from their classroom feeling confident in themselves and respectful of others. My daughter feels as if the world is her stage to learn, play and grow. Old Colony Montessori School has embraced that open mind and heart and truly helped her to spread her wings.
