Mission: The Mission of Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania is to facilitate independence, enrich the quality of life, and empower individuals who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled through prevention, employment and educational awareness programs.

Geographic areas served: Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and Perry Counties
Programs: Production facility: provides meaningful employment and on-the-job training for visually, physically and mentally-disabled individuals. Employed 62 individuals with disabilities. Provide 85% of agency's revenue.
PA association for the blind projects: provided 3,550 preschool vision screenings, 4,448 preschool and 1st grade health and safety programs. 286 adult vision screenings were performed and 3,048 adults attended health education programs.
Vrocp provided 40 no cost eye exams and 102 discounted eyeglasses (in addition to 27 at no charge). Provided 397 individuals who are blind/visually impaired and deemed financially and visually eligible with services such as case management, mail reading, bill paying, grocery shopping, necessary errands, etc. , transportation and escort to medical appointments and support groups.
Access technology - the at department provides high-quality training in the use of computers and assistive technology equipment for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Training is individualized and includes applications such as word processing, database management and using the internet. Provided 154 individuals with low vision aid evaluations. Trained 18 individuals who are blind to use computers and provided an additional 30 individuals with technical phone support.

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Council for Blind and Low Vision Services (NAC). NAC is the only accrediting body that solely focuses on standards and best practices for blind and low vision services with the consumer in mind. Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania has demonstrated that it meets or exceeds the standards set by NAC for delivery of blind and low vision services. The determination for accreditation is a rigorous process that involves self-examination by the organization, an on-site peer review to verify processes and procedures by a team of professionals serving in the field and a review of the findings by the NAC Accreditation Committee. NAC congratulates Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania on its accredited status.
