Programs: Mercy medicine is a christian primary care charity clinic. The volunteer physicians treat patients who cannot afford medical insurance and do not charge them for exams or medications. Medical treatment is provided to patients ages 18 - 64 years with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes or chronic diseases that require medical attention at least every six months. The patients receive free lab work, x-rays, mammograms and certain necessary surgeries at the local hospitals. Adults without insurance ages 18 and over are eligible for dental care that is life-sustaining. The all volunteer providers include physicians, physician's assistants and dentists. During the year, mercy provided medical care to over 500 medical patients and 400 dental care patients culminating into over 2600 patient visits. The patients are serviced on site by a monthly average of 8 different medical providers and 6 dental providers. Additional dental and medical surgeons as well as other specialties volunteer their time for mercy medicine patients however, it is usually necessary for these patients to be treated offsite. Over 120 individuals volunteered over 3000 hours of medical and dental care. These medical personnel were supported with over 5400 hours in non-clinical volunteer assistance used throughout the ministry.
