Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Human Services, Senior Centers, Seniors
Mission: At the Eagle Senior Center we understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle for everyone, but especially those effected by the inability to independently transport themselves to community services. We also want to enrich the lives of those who reside in Eagle. Our mission is to provide a catalyst for real change in the lives of those who have lost independence, and those who need help and a loving community. By offering free fares to our riders, we can help those who are on lower and fixed income statuses.
Results: Since the start of our transportation system in Eagle, Idaho we have grown exponentially. Our dream is to be able to expand our range and ability to the farther reaches of the Treasure Valley and be a viable opportunity to more people who are effected by the inability to reach services that they would normally be able to. We have gone from taking only a small amount of passengers to medical appointments and daily meals at the senior center to over 1500 a month. We have a limited amount of drivers and are still working to feed and arrange rides for the growing city. In order to keep up with the demand we have decided to expand our program to more avenues.
Target demographics: People of Advanced Age, People with Disabilities, and all who qualify for service
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over a hundred local seniors and people with disabilities
Geographic areas served: The community of Eagle, Idaho
Programs: Free rides to and from medical appointments, shopping, restaurants, special events in the community and throughout the Treasure Valley.
