I just had a pick up that I donated a beautiful recliner chair and the two gentlemen Carlos and Victor, pure gentleman, courteous very careful and very quick. I highly support this group.

***PSA to adopters: Nightmare experience**** I adopted a kitten from a pet store (thru Kitty Karma of Delray). The store did not have any history of the kitten and said to call Lori. I asked Lori is the cat healthy? I have another older cat at home. She replied “Yes, very healthy. Ready to go home today! And I’ll give you his medical records in the next day or so”. I bring the cat home and introduce it to my older cat. Then I finally receive the health record and the kitten is Feline Leukemia Positive. I call Lori and she said oh yes but it’s not contagious to my other cat and kittens live 14 + years with FelV. I go to the vet for first visit. The entire vet staff say “Feline leukemia is HIGHLY contagious to other cats, and kittens diagnosed rarely survive 6 months to a year” they suggested I return the kitten to protect my older cat. I call Lori and she says the vet is telling me false information and denies the cat is sick and continues to tell me it’s not contagious. I thought she was confused with FIV but she said she knew what she was talking about (FelV). I speak to another vet for a second opinion. They explained to me that most kittens who have this are euthanized at shelters because of how contiguous they are (via grooming, litter boxes, food/water bowls) and don’t survive long. Lori continues to deny what the vet says. I now had to make the choice to either give this contagious kitten back to her (and infect more cats at her organization) or keep the kitten completely separate from my older cat for the rest of his short life he had left and make him as happy as possible. I chose the latter vs having Lori infect the other cats at her rescue. The kitten passed away 3 days shy of our 1 year with him. The last 10 days of his life was in the animal hospital dying from feline leukemia and us trying to save him but like the vet said kittens don’t survive a year with feline leukemia. This was the most heartbreaking experience and not to mention thousands of dollars in vet bills. Before you even think of adopting a cat from Kitty Karma, get the health records first before bringing it home. I can’t imagine how many other families have suffered from this. Rescues should always disclose if there’s a special needs cat so the adopter can be fully aware ahead of time. If you knew the kitten was FelV+ (the deadliest virus among cats), you tell the potential adopter and not surprise them with the news days after you bring the cat home. This is negligent and harmful to my older cat.

Thirty years ago I and a group of very close friends (all with children under five years of age) met one evening to convince one of our group to start a pre-school program. We were strongly frustrated by the lack of quality pre-school options. Quality for this group of moms was all about play rather than early academics. We wanted art, music and the outside to fill our little ones day. This musician mom was free-lancing as a music teacher at a number of local pre-schools. We convinced her that she would be a great in her own pre-school. We started in a rental space in a local church. Now, thirty years later we have our own facility and programs for children from birth to six years old. We achieved our mission as has the school. Sunflower Creative Arts is a very special place as every parent, child and staff member will attest.

22 Project was an amazing experience for me. As a female that experienced combat and has spent more than a decade in austere environments, I have had some unique experiences and injuries that I had not been able to address. <br>I was unable to find anyone that could relate to some of my experiences and personal situation to help myself find answers.<br>The support and treatment that is provided with 22P was a supportive, unconditional acceptance that I haven't found anywhere else.<br>Everyone involved is genuine and supportive.<br>I hope to have this group in my life forever.

Wayside House saved my life over three years ago! I went to several rehabilitation places and programs but they were not at all near what Wayside House taught me. If interested after the initial stay at Wayside, they offer step down programs which I accepted. I wanted to stay connected to Wayside House so I also did their PHP program, IOP program and OP program. I am now Alumni and stay connected through their Peer Support group which I love. Ted and his team went above and beyond <br>our extensive reporting requirements and often sent updates, even though they <br>weren’t required by our agreement. In addition, Ted’s breadth of knowledge of the <br>education system as a former educator and his special ability to attract other <br>supporters was instrumental to the success of the program. <br>The results from Project UpLift were exceptional, with most participating students <br>outperforming their less challenged peers by the end of the school year. When so much seems to be going wrong, the IRC is doing amazing environmental restoration work in our South Florida community! Their volunteer events allow us to get out and get our hands dirty, planting native plants and flowers that protect our land and coastlines. I also use their extensive Natives For Your Neighborhood tool whenever I am doing work in my garden, and recommend it to my friends and neighbors. It is an incredible resource to make sure that our actions have a positive impact on our environment. I especially love that I can find native butterfly plants for my backyard! I am so grateful for all of the opportunities and resources that the IRC provides! Incredible!

My experience has been great working as a grant writing intern. With the Help Our Wounded Foundation I have worked on locating grant opportunities, writing grant applications, investigating concussion-related news and scientific research, as well as drafting documents related to concussions and traumatic brain injuries. The HOW Foundation has given me an opportunity to utilize my writing skills and work with excellent interns to help grow the foundation's concussion programs to better serve student athletes receive medical-grade Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

We love the Miracle League of Palm Beach County!! My son is 7yrs old, Autistic and non-verbal, and he is able to play Baseball, for FREE!!! And the best part is, HE LOVES IT!! All thanks to the Miracle League of Palm Beach County, kids with special needs are able to play a sport, and the parents don’t have to stress about being able to afford it!! Not only do they include our child, they include us too, and we are forever grateful for all the amazing miracle workers, volunteers and sponsors for making this possible for our boy, and all the special needs kids!! May God continue to bless this amazing team of angels in the outfield!!

Ann Fonfa has worked tirelessly for many years disseminating the vast knowledge she has accumulated about healing cancer to people doing all they can to heal from cancer. Ann continually attends meetings to keep up to date with anything new. She puts on a fabulous and very informative conference annually bringing together leaders in the field of healing. My husband and I have attended several of Ann's conferences and have learned so much. Ann also takes the time to reply to anyone who contacts her with questions.

Open Hearts for Orphans is truly one of the most amazing non-profits out there. This organization gives fully, selflessly and daily to the cause of the vulnerable and the voiceless, and they work tirelessly to ensure that EVERY child has the opportunity to grow up not in an institution but inside a home. We trust and love this organization dearly.

My story spans ten years. I went from Dr to Dr. I was in agony for yrs, until a young Dr. believed me. I went into menopause. Years since thenI am now facing Cervical cancer. They don’t tell you that. I wish I could tell all the young women that are suffering don’t give up please!!!!!!

I moved here to palm beach county in 2017 with my 5 kids. I was a single mom and I was going through alot of hardship. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Haider through the school my children were attending right about November of 2017. The school referred my children to this wonderful blessed agency right before the holidays. Mrs. Haider became like our own fairy godmother. The agency was able to provide my children and I with clothing and can goods as well as helping my children get gifts for Christmas. Honestly this agency is a true blessing and my children and I will be forever grateful. Mrs. Barbara Haider is an angel. Thank you One love One community!!

We adopted Jake (now Jet) in October 2015 and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. The adoption process went smoothly and Jennifer has been wonderful. Without her, the Foster Fur Moms and Dad’s and the donations these dogs wouldn’t have much of a chance. Thank you for doing what you do!

Amazing Charity! Helping Single mothers and their children they give cars away and change their lives immediately...awesome!

This non-profit helps disadvantaged children with academics as well as exposing them to the arts. The children gain confidence in mastering both. The staff works tirelessly to promote this foundation and assist the children. <br><br>My role has been to create greeting cards to sell at their fundraisers. All profits raised by selling these handmade cards is donated back to the Milagro Foundation. This is a labor of love for me, and to see the children enjoy the arts and do well in school is a great bonus.

Our Community economy depends upon families of all financial strata living and working in our community. This Land Trust, similar to others, provides much needed affordable housing opportunities within the community. Their special contribution is provided by assuring that the housing opportunity is perpetually affordable thru a recorded deed restriction. Contributions to their mission are thus permanent and provide a Community legacy.

This is in no way a non for profit business. All the director cares about is getting the numbers of kids in as he gets paid per child. He has to be the most obnoxious person I have ever met.Talk about Napoleon complex. <br>This non (for) profit should be closed down and a real company that cares about the children of Delray Beach replace them.

StreetWaves has made such a powerful impact on the lives of children in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties over the years. I have personally watched children grow into wonderful adults that are also giving back to their prospective communities. Please support StreetWaves in anyway possible. They are an amazing group of people doing wonderful things for our future. I am so excited to see that they are now taking children sailing. The Achievement Center is a model non-profit that has done more good in our community than can ever be categorized. I am a former mayor of Delray and long time board member. I can honestly say that the Achievement Center provided impeccable service to the most vulnerable children and families in our community. Their work has helped to break the cycle of poverty for so many over more than 45 years. The staff is dedicated and top-notch, the board is committed and the community is blessed to have what I strongly believe is the finest program of its kind in the nation right here in Delray Beach. The Men of Belief are comprised of members who have an interest, awareness and knowledge of creating effective change in the personal, spiritual and social lives of members of communities. The key role of Men of Belief is to enhance the awareness and growth of youth, provide services in honor of the elderly by means of services and platforms of information. This organiaation is aimed at creating alternatives to stagnation and counter productive behavioirs prevalent in present communites. <br>The members of this organization are supported by women who are instrumental in assisting this organization in obtaining goals and implementation of projects. The projects to include cultural, spiritual and vocational and recreational. The members of the organization have backgrounds in community service and are also providers of the services within the community. We support little league baseball, boyscouts, youth scholarships, theatre workshops and educational pursuits are supported. This organizatino has made a positive impact on community residents who have visibly witnessed the growth of its members and their influence on the residents of communities.
