I have been a supporter of this rescue for a few years now. I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt I know this rescue is all about saving those that are forlorn, forgotten, abused, neglected, and misunderstood. They use the donations for the animals and their care and not for profit for themselves. They are my heroes and I am so proud to have found out about them and the saving grace they perform without hesitation when it comes to those furbabies that need help the most. The least I can do is donate when I can to this very special rescue group who in my opinion are true angels on this earth!!!!i am truly honored to be a supporter!!!

I can’t say enough about the whole adoption process. You can truly see that they genuinely care and love each and every dog that is under their care. From nursing them back to health to being very selective in finding them their forever home. Thank you for everything. Blu thanks you too.

We worked with Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue twice in the last few years. The first time we tried to adopt we had a precious, cranky, old pitbull and we tried to match her with a younger dog. FTTF was very patient and understanding as we tried to find a dog that she would put up with. Didn't happen so we went on our way.

A year ago that precious, cranky, old pitbull passed away and in the spring we decided to start looking again. Based on our previous experience with FTTF, we headed right back to them and started over. After looking at several pictures and visiting with one other dog, we met our match.

What we love about FTTF is that they take the time to learn their dogs and figure out with what kind of family each dog would be a good fit. More rescues than not couldn’t tell a potential adopter one end of their dogs from another and that scares us. We didn’t want to end up with a dog who would eat the couch or injure our cat. We also had another specific requirement: she had to love our kid who’d been waiting for years for a dog to call his own. FTTF was very sensitive to that and made sure that we only considered dogs who fit the bill. There was never any pressure and they kept on working with us every though it took some time. It’s very obvious that they are most interested in finding the best home rather than moving the dogs along. Quality over quantity. Should we ever want another dog, they are our rescue.

This rescue is truly committed to saving animals - Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull - takes on the dogs forced to fight, dogs that have been shot, critically abused, the blind and the deaf, and any other special-needs case rejected by other organizations or dogs sentenced to death row at the shelters.
Jason Flatt has devoted his life to improving the well being of animals who would have no future life without his organization.

Friends to the Forlorn is an excellent example of A+ charity. Not only do they carry out their intended efforts to rescue PitBull's in need but they also rescue other animals and even humans when they cross their paths. The founder is a truly generous stand up human who can not turn his back on one in need. If he is not able to offer the help himself for some reason he will do all he can to find the help needed. The volunteers are great, dedicated hard workers. They want nothing but the best for the animals and those who are involved in protecting, educating, rehoming, and improving the lives and spreading the knowledge of pitbulls and pitbull type dogs. The area they serve is better because of them.

I work at a large open intake shelter in metro Atlanta, and FTTF has been a long term partner of ours. They are one of my favorite groups!

FTTF is my go-to for many of our dogs because the care they receive is truly exceptional. They have rescued protective mom dogs and litters, behavior cases, puppies, severe medical cases, hospice seniors and our at-risk dogs. I trust them. They work with such integrity and transparency. Many of the dogs they pull from us require some specialty care, and that's exactly what FTTF gives them.

FTTF also has many long term fosters. They seem to feel supported and are committed to the mission. I often receive updates on the dogs they pull, many of them are very special dogs that needed FTTF to thrive.

I'm grateful we have FTTF in our community. Their commitment to improving the lives of animals in our area is truly making a difference. They are a model group that sets the highest standard for the animals in their program.

FTTF is an amazing rescue founded by Jason Flatt. Jason is an unsung hero for the animals no one else will save. He steps up, follows through and goes above and beyond each time. This year I had the privilege of fostering my first dog with Fttf. Liberty was in distress and sick with worms at the pound. Jason didn’t hesitate to get her out of there and get her what she needed for treatment. She is thriving today and healthier than I could have ever imagined. Thank you Jason and the entire FTTF family for never giving up on any animal.

We can't even begin to express how wonderful this rescue is. We adopted our beautiful Macie from FTTF 4 years ago. From the minute we were told our application was accepted we felt like family. They truly care about each dog they adopt out to be sure it's getting the proper home. Our dog's foster Mom Robin cared so much, that she drove from GA to CT to personally see that our pup was safe and secure.. Now that's dedication. This is what this rescue is all about, dedicated to each and every pup or any other animal they rescue. Everyone involved in the rescue goes above and beyond to be sure every pup is safe, loved and treated with care. They give back to their community. They do things the right way!!

I worked with FTTF earlier this year providing fospice care to a wonderful dog that had congestive heart failure due to advanced heartworm. Despite the bleak prognosis, FTTF was determined to fight for a recovery, sparing no expense and providing enormous support for me. When it became obvious that recovery was not possible and the end had arrived, the founder came to the vet with me and stopped to get the dog a grilled steak and so his last moments would be amazing. There is a devotion at FTTF to give largely unloved pitties all the love and care they didn't have previously.

Fttf is a great place! Not only does Jason work his butt off to save the most misunderstood breed of our time; he also does a huge amount of community outreach. From saving kittens (who are usually more ferocious than the pitbulls he works with) to bringing people food, to driving into cities full of supplies after natural disasters. He truly is a great human, with a great heart, surrounded by great people who want to save animals.

I was helped by Jason and FTTF about 5 years ago at one of his "Beat the Heat" events. I was able to bring my two cats that I had at that time and get their shots for free. At that time, we were about a week away from our house going into foreclosure, so shoots for our cats where not in our budget. This event was MASSIVE. FTTF and the other organisations that donated their time helped thousands of animals and their people. I do not think FTTF does the "Beat the Heat" events anymore, but I know they do spay and neuture hundreds of animald throughout the year for free for struggling families.

A broken baby girl found after being dumped amongst trash. A botched ear clipping left her maimed and bleeding, no longer of any value to the person who harmed her. She was taken to the pound where Friends to the Forlorn promptly rescued her. They saw her value, they wanted to save her as they have saved so many before her, and so many after her. She was taken to the vet, received vaccinations and the all clear for a foster home. My family and I stepped up to foster her but it didn’t take us long to fall in love with her and to know that she was already home. She had a hard time trusting and would try to escape routine care or cower in fear. Emotional wounds left from the physical pain she endured. Friends to the forlorn got her hooked up with a trainer which help both her and I learn how to trust and work together. This girl that someone thought to throw away is the sweetest and most loving dog that we have ever had in our family. She loves life so fiercely. That scared and hurt little puppy is growing up to be the greatest family dog. Our very own sweet Maisie! Without Friends to the Forlorn there is no telling where this black Pitbull with clipped ears would have ended up. Every dog has value to Friends to the Forlorn and they will do everything they can to rescue, rehabilitate and love as many dogs as they can. They are truly an amazing organization run with unyielding integrity and with the sole goal of saving animals.

I have be aware of Jason's rescue since it began because I had previously been a board member of a breed specific rescue that had been doomed to failure. My personal family had been in love with the breed and had several of our own for several years. We had watched breed specific rescues come and go and kept note of FTTF. It was/is amazing to watch FTTF grow, evolve and give back to the community. Dedication, education, and determination... FTTF has it all! They thoroughly screen adoption applicants and make sure each "adopt-a-bull" is matched with the right family and provides the best medical treatment to every animal that enters the rescue. This rescue is run like a well oiled machine abd is destined to leave a major positive mark in the rescue community. Jason and his entire crew do the "job" right and they do it well. As time passed, our pack got smaller and eventually we decide to adopt. I bet you can guess which rescue we went to...

Friends of the Forlorn isn’t just a charity- it’s a way that people can rebuild lives, connect with people that don’t look like each other but have a passionate connection about helping animals and each other.

There are many animal charities but none that fight as hard to survive every day. They know that there are simply too many “specialty breed” organizations that take all the “Pretty” dogs. These folks help everyone they can-the ones others are scared of or afraid would cost too much.

Money doesn’t matter to them. It’s all heart! Money just lets them help more animals and improve more people’s lives!

I have supported this incredible rescue for over seven years. I did not adopt my first pit bull from them, but I have watched them work. I have volunteered for other rescue organizations, and FTTF by far has the highest ethics, most tireless volunteers, and their program is the best. Although it is primarily a pit bull rescue, they do not shy away from bringing in other breeds or even species! They take those that nobody else will look at, and they never, ever raise money before they even know what they will need. And, if a dog cannot find the PERFECT home, it has a home for life with Jason.

One year ago, I adopted my first dog from FTTF. The adoption process was simple, and there were several members of FTTF always available to answer my questions about the process and my potential new dog. To this day, I am still friends with both of Spencer‘s foster mothers. Once you adopt from FTTF, you are always family!

FTTF helped me save a dog that pulled at my heart strings. A stray with skin hanging, cold & hungry wandered into my yard. I didn’t want him to freeze so I called animal control, only to find out if not claimed in 4 days he’d be put down. The next day I found FTTF, Holly was great, but with no fosters able to take on another dog my journey began. I began to foster this dog, I named him Zane before he was even home with me. I wanted him to have better than what he had in his past, as I continued my search to find his forever family he was already home, with ME. I ADOPTED HIM. Zane is great, and I am so glad he wandered into MY yard.

This is by far the best and most organized rescue I have ever been a part of. When I first started fostering with them I had pulled two dogs from the shelter myself. I was 25 and most rescues were blowing me off due to my age, so i got impatient and just fostered through the shelter. One was very easy and sweet and one wouldn’t let anyone but me touch her. I had gotten in over my head and needed help. FTTF came to my rescue and helped transform the dog into a sweet and loving girl who now has found her forever. Since those first two I have fostered 5 more dogs with them and they are incredible. They want the ones that nobody else wants. They give second chances to dogs who have totally given up. They are incredible and I absolutely suggest that everyone get involved with them.

Need help?
