Mission: We are a 501c3 in Cheyenne, Wy specializing in all breed equine rescue helping keep at risk equines out of auction and kill pens by working with current owners to find solutions. We take pride in offering sanctuary care and finding perfect adoptive fits for the horses in our care. We also partner with the community to offer programs for the disabled, elderly, counseling, and a place to heal while interacting with equines in a tranquil, healing environment.
Results: We have assisted or directly placed over 75 horses in the greater Laramie County and Northern Colorado area.
We have developed our own veterans support program for Veterans and their families to partake in.
We partner with memory care facilities in the area for experiences with dementia and Alzheimer's patients.
We have reading programs for children who are working on reading confidence by reading aloud to horses.
We strive to create positive experiences of out reach and education with the community to shed light on the large number of equines needing homes and the slaughter industry to raise awareness of backyard breeding issues and responsible pet ownership.

I had to make the difficult decision to find a more suitable retirement home for my anxious senior gelding.
I found Casa Ventosa online and reached out to inquire if they had the space and resources my guy would need to succeed.
Emma was always a prompt communicator and happy to share any information I was curious about. She was able to accommodate my horse last minute when a hopeful retirement home fell through and I was at a loss for where to take him.
Since dropping him off, Emma has sent photos and updates and has taken the best care of him. He is visibly more happy and healthy than ever before. I was so relieved to see him thriving and at peace.
I’ve been able to visit him and check on him personally and it has really eased my mind knowing he has the best care.
Emma has even offered to help me with my new horse by providing advice, support and body work.
I couldn’t be more thankful for Casa Ventosa, their mission, their passion and commitment to the horses.
Thank you so much for all that you do!
I had the privilege of helping build new corrals for the horses of Casa Ventosa. What an incredible job Emma is doing in saving horses but also giving back to the community by helping Alzheimer patients, young kids through therapeutic riding, volunteer opportunities for young adults who want to learn about horses and how to care for them. So worthy of your monetary support as its a gem within the community! I liked the organization I volunteered to be on the board.

The horses find themselves at this rescue, under a variety of reasons. However, they are then met with a variety of opportunities to meet their needs. while striving for more than the basics of healthcare but the mental and emotional health as well. Additionally, the rescue partners with others - collaboratively - to develop further initiatives and fit needs producing unique opportunities for the horses in their care, and the local human community. The sanctuary is a unique point that in my opinion, isn't mentioned enough - as just as much goes into the residents as those prepping for adoption.
