These guys are amazing. They give veterans who may not have a chance to hunt or fish that opportunity. They provide meals and take care of everything. If you do not have a weapon or rod, they will make sure you have one when you get there. They give vets the chance to share stories and be with one's who know what they are talking about and understand where they may be coming from. These guys go out of their way to make sure things are perfect for hunting or fishing. The camaraderie that happens when you come back from hunting and just share stories is what makes it great. Made many friends since being joining OFO.
OFO continues to do great things for the veteran and first responder community. I have been fortunate enough to be selected for a few events with them and each time has been a blast. The camaraderie during these events is amazing no matter who or where you are from. I can’t wait to participate in more events and hopefully one day assist with an event for our veterans and first responders so I can give back to these great communities and keep supporting what OFO does.
I have been out with Operation Freedom Outdoors twice.
The first was a ferral pig hunt. It was a night hunt and I was in a blind alone until just after 11:00 pm. There was interaction with others both before and after though limited because before everybody wanted get out, after everybody wanted to get home LOL. There were no pigs harvested but they were seen. Please don't misunderstand, that is how still hunting hogs is done. The host outfitter was very knowledgeable with top of the line gear. Safety was paramount. This was my very first hog hunt and I enjoyed the entire event immensely.
The second time out with Operation Freedom Outdoors was a Dove Hunt. This trip was loaded with other vets with tons of interaction. The host opened his home and lunch was served. The conversations with all involved was free flowing and engaging. I was able to offer some advice and information to a much younger vet concerning navigating the VA process. Again, no birds were harvested but that is not the point of the outting. Loved this trip, loves the people. Operation Freedom Outdoors puts in an incredible amount of care and effort into everything they do. You get an immediate sense of pride and excitement from these folks about what they do.
I recommend this Non-Profit to other veterans as often as I can. I hope to get out with them again soon.
I’ve been around OFO for several years. They have done Great things in the past for Veterans and continue every day to make sure each veteran, active duty or first responders enjoy a day in the outdoors. I enjoy this groups heart felt attachment to their cause. Truly a hands down top notch non profit organization ran By Veterans!
Was able to take a crappie fishing trip with OFO. Great guys who’s only thoughts are to help Veterans get outdoors and joining in communion with others and strengthen the bond between Veterans.
So I found this organization on Facebook for a chance to enter a hunt. I was selected to go on a tournament hunt. Things didn’t go as planned but still made the most out of the day and had a great time. Month or so I was asked if I would like to volunteer and be on the board and I agreed. Being a board member was the best kind of therapy for me to being able to serve our veteran community and give back an opportunity like I was afforded! I find it so much more rewarding to use my outdoors skill set to give the best opportunity at a successful harvest and to create a life time bond with each veteran I’m blessed with in the great outdoors!
OFO had a draw hunt for black bear my son won one of the hunts. these guys were awesome he had a hunt of a lifetime seen a few deer didn’t get lucky enough to take a bear. enjoyed the experience I got to hang out at camp with a bunch of the veterans definitely a great time good food and company
Great organization for a great cause. Went on a bear hunt and could not have asked for more out of the camp. Met a lot of great people and had an awesome hunt with plenty of opportunities at a harvest.
My name is Les Standstipher I'm the owner of S&S Guide Service on lake Eufaula in oklahome, I have had the privilege of being a part of OFO on both sides of the spectrum by offering my services taking veterans fishing and also being a veteran myself. OFO has been helping vets deal with all manner of issues in life by getting them in the outdoors and providing some relief of the stresses of life, would highly recommend Cody Smith and his staff at OFO. These guys make dreams happen for vets!
This origination gave me a wonderful experience. The amount of knowledge between everyone shared is worth it’s weight in gold. Sometimes all you need is someone that cares and I felt that with all the people I’ve came across with ofo.
This is a an Awesome organization, I’ve been out with them a couple of time and am looking forward to many more adventures.
We went dove hunt. Had a great breakfast and shot a couple of bird.
Went to deer camp just to hang out. They guys are great to be around
Operation Freedom Outdoors (OFO) is an amazing organization that provides outdoor opportunities to veterans at no charge to the service member! Everyone from the donors and organizers to the guys accompanying you on the hunt are the real deal, stand-up individuals. I was blessed to be drawn for a hunt and OFO staff/volunteers were all highly professional and relatable. They know what being in the military takes because many of them are former military or highly supportive of service members. They are always holding drawings for more veterans to experience the great outdoors
with no signs of slowing down. I wish I could give them more stars. Thank you, Operation Freedom Outdoors!

I have seen them have a few places and have been trying to get with them when I finally was able to go out with them it was awesome got to hang out with other veterans got to go out and hunt and build that team that everyone is so used to being in the military. They do a great job with anyone that is disabled and helping them get out too a hunt along with helping if you need any sort of supplies or anything while you're out there. Great great group I can't wait to see if I win another hunt
Me and my son got drawn for a youth rifle hunt. They provided everything but the rifle, they were very respectful, knowledgeable, and courteous. They offer all kinds of trips for veterans and they also accommodate for people with disabilities. They operate on donations and are continually trying to help out the veteran community any way they are able to.
My name is Trever. I have donated and been out on trips sponsored by this organization. They instill comraderie and ensure you fell you are never alone in your struggles. The members are amazing, supportive, and knowledgeable. They put 110% of their beings into making this a successful organization. It is rare to find people with the passion to support people like this group does. Z
The amount of love and compassion that this organization shows for vets is incredible. People come in as strangers and not really knowing anyone. But, at the end of each trip, we have all gained brothers and sisters. We leave as family! This is truly a top notch organization that loves what they do and love vets for what they have sacrificed.
I have had the opportunity to work with this group at a few of their fundraisers and then a couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with them at their annual bear camp. I can not put into words to explain how good of a time that we had. This group goes over and beyond to make sure that our veterans and first responders have a first class experience. 100% of the funds that they raise goes right back to our veterans and first responders.
The best group of people working together to help veterans and first responders. The hospitality and genuine care they put forward is top notch!
I have been on one fishing trip and one hunting trip with Operation Freedom Outdoors. Both trips were a blast! These guys do a heck of a job planning the trips. This group takes care of veterans and first responders like pros. It’s not just an outdoor trip, the connections and friendship made are what they are all about.
I have volunteered for OFO since 2017, I continue to spend my time helping them year after year because I truly have seen the difference the organization has made in many lives.
This group gets it. The best way to save a veterans life is to build a community of support outside the service for them to rely on. People who can relate, who can guide towards life saving resources, and people who can simply connect on another level to help bind them to choosing life. It doesn’t just stop at the hunt.
OFO is always there when a vet or first responder is in need. Can't begin to say what a blessing they have been to me personally and I consider them family.
Matt and Wes are two of the most selfless and caring people I’ve ever met! They are true patriots and would do anything for our veterans! OFO so graciously donated a turkey hunt for my family and I. First hunt we did I got my first turkey and the next day my dad and sister both killed! Many wounds were healed and memories were made on that trip. I’m forever thankful for these guys and all they do for our veterans! Thank you Matt and Wes!
this group is verry dedicated to help those men and women that dedicated their time for our values of freedom and give them a chance to do something they may never have donr and enjoy the outdoors thanks for our efforts and time.
From day one these guys are all about the Vets and best way to get us Vets some outdoor healing experience. I can’t think OFO enough for the amazing experience.
I am a volunteer for this group and such an amazing group for our veterans it really gives the folks a chance to get outdoors doin whatever it may be to take their mind off of the every day struggle 22 . It’s my honor to be apart of this program at any chance I get thank y’all for your service and allowing me to be apart when I can !!
I have been working with Operation Freedom Outdoors for 3 (I think! Maybe 4!) years now! I have never met a nicer, more hospitable, caring bunch of people in all my life!! The biggest thing I've noticed when a trip is taken, that the veterans and first responders that go on these trips start off as strangers, but go home as family. The friendships that are forged on these trips are lifetime friendships. Ughh enough mushy!
The food is always good, the laughs are always plenty, and whether the wildlife cooperate or not, a great time is ALWAYS had by all!! I 100% recommend!!
