Causes: Animals, Wildlife Preservation & Protection
Mission: To promote compassion, empathy, and respect for all life through wildlife rehabilitation, ecological teachings, and wildlife conservation.
Results: WCNC began in October of 1997 by Sharnelle Fee. Since that time our program has helped tens of thousands of wildlife creatures, released hundreds of animals back to their appropriate habitats, and have provided conservation education programs to countless numbers of people.
Target demographics: wildlife and the environment
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1010 birds, 43 mammals, 38 summer camp students, 100+ volunteers and community members
Geographic areas served: the north Oregon coastline
Programs: • Humane care, professional medical treatment, and rehabilitation to sick, injured, orphaned and displaced native wildlife with the goal of releasing healthy wild animals back into their appropriate habitat; • Quality conservation education programs to coastal communities, now including Summer Camps; • Meaningful volunteer opportunities for young people and adults; and • Long-term monitoring of wildlife and environmental health. service.
