Mission: Verité is an independent, non-profit socially responsible auditing, training, capability building and research organization established in 1995. Our mission is to ensure that people worldwide work under safe, fair and legal working conditions. We achieve this by linking collaboratively with local, grassroots NGOs; governments; international institutions and corporations. Our experience spans over 70 countries and territories. Our approach is grounded in the belief that only by increasing corporate accountability and strengthening the capacity of local NGOs to monitor compliance with acceptable labor standards can participation in a global economy promote the development of just and humane civil societies.
Programs: Verite undertook 18 independent, high-quality, original research projects for 12 funders in multiple countries providing original research on key issues and challenges in responsible supply chain sourcing. We leveraged our grassroots access to provide a unique, bottom-up, objective view of labor conditions at the commodity, product, sector, and country level.
