Family Promise has very caring helpful people who remember you and show empathy. They'll help with shelter, support services, and more. I have witnessed this organization go above and beyond to help those in need of a home by addressing specific demands of each individual or family. Their contributions to the community by offering opportunities for a better life are more than commendable. There's not much more to say other than "Job well done!" I will continue to support.
Family Promise been a huge help to the community it serves. I have had the opportunity to see the program work in a successful way for a homeless family. The family gained so much knowledge and growth from the program. They received shelter services and resources that led to self sufficiency.
As a Clinical Therapist in the field, I've had the pleasure of witnessing Family Promise's Executive Director LaVeeta Hamilton and her robust care team assistant my patient who was experiencing an unfortunate crisis and needing immediate shelter. Ms. Hamilton was extremely compassionate, caring, and helpful in ensuring the family had a safe place and a continuum of care plan. Family Promise is by far a top notch organization serving the Collin County community.
Family Promise helped a homeless family I was working with. The Executive Director LaVeeta Hamilton showed so much empathy and compassion. She was able to help them rebuild self esteem and worth. This charity keeps it's promise to the individuals it serves.

I have served as a Social Worker for many years. The true testament in helping families experiencing a crises, work through that crises, is their ability to connect with an organization that offers healing and hope. Family Promise of Collin County is that organization. The time and support they give those they serve is amazing. As a community partner and now a member of the board, I have witnessed their strategy for success up-close.
We are so fortunate to have them in Collin County.
This group works hard to lift families out of homelessness. I have loved my experience with the leadership team, and I strongly recommend volunteering with them. Reach out and ask how you can help!

Family Promise is a solution driven organization. Many can talk about homelessness and do nothing but family promise is a successful program that everyone should know about. God won't ask what you did to help yourself, but He'll ask what you did to help others. Family Promise is truly doing God's work.
This is a wonderful program for families with children. They keep families together and walk with them on their journey to stability.

Family Promise is a wonderful organization made up of volunteers and staff who really care about the families they serve. Churches are able to utilize their buildings to house families and use their volunteers to provide food and fellowship, while staff provides support and guidance for families to help them get back on their feet. As a volunteer and church coordinator I felt blessed to be a part of this program!
Family Promise allows our church members to live out their faith through their interaction with the guests. This program allows us to live out the scripture without ever opening a bible. It allows ordinary people achieve great results.
Family Promise is an amazing organization that provide a safe place for families who are experiencing homelessness due to evictions, job loss, or any other issue that would cause them to lose their home, by giving them an opportunity to get back up on their feet again. In 2019 I referred a family of 11, which included a mother, father, eight children, and a grandmother to Family Promise when they lost their home in Allen, Texas and had no place to go with children still in school Thanks to Family Promise the family was able to get the necessary resources to move back to their home town in Louisiana. Awesome!
I have volunteered with Family Promise of Collin County for over 10 years as a volunteer. Even during this pandemic they have still been able to serve families with children who have become homeless. Instead of the standard rotation schedule they have been using 2 static locations to shelter the families and continue with their programs of case management, budget classes, car repairs, gift cards for groceries and many other supportive services.
Family Promise has helped many families in Collin County get out of homelessness. It’s a well run organization.
Family Promise is compassionate cause that does not judge. Ran heavily with a volunteer staff and board, the money goes where it is needed most. A great cause that achieves great success.
Family Promise is an exceptional non-profit. It has a dedicated staff who coordinate with volunteers to serve those in need. The families are provided meals and gift cards to ease their daily burdens. I am impressed by their ongoing commitment during the difficult times we have endured due to COVID 19.
I have been a volunteer through my church since the program's inception and have served on the Board for the past 4 years. I have seen this program change the lives of many families and gotten to know a few well enough to realize that their stories could be anyone's, including my own. Of course, none of this would be possible without our host churches and network of volunteers because it takes a village to provide for the well-being of the situationally homeless in our community.
As a volunteer with Family Promise of Collin County I have seen the impact that this organization has on homeless families. Families are given the help, hope and hand up that they need during this extremely difficult time. Lives are changed. The staff are caring, loving individuals, the church network of volunteers are passionate and active.

Giving a hand up to families in our community experiencing homelessness, Family Promise works with area churches to house and support people when they need it the most. I have been touched by the families who are so thankful that people care about them and want to help them. Homelessness effects families so profoundly. I can not help them all but through Family Promise, like in the Starfish story, "I helped that one".
I have been our Church's Volunteer Coordinator for over 8 years working with Family Promise of Collin County. The staff is very dedicated and goes above and beyond in assisting the families in the program. The families all come with a variety of issues and the Case Mangers works very closely with the families. Each family is provided gas cards each week and UBER passes when they first come into the program for emergencies If clothes are needed, FPOCC has connection to get them needed items. Budgeting classes and Counseling are also available for the familes along with many other support services.
I have volunteered with Family Promise of Collin County in the past and truly enjoyed the experience working with and getting to know the families in the program! The staff is amazing and the volunteers working with families are stellar!! I recommend this program to families in crisis due to homelessness.
Family Promise is a great organization. I volunteered for over 5 years and enjoyed how well organized the staff was and how well organized the program was. It is very user friendly and families are well served with this program. I am looking forward to getting back to vounteering.
This is a great nonprofit that is very efficiently run. The model is sustainable, something that is not easy to do in any environment thanks to the partnership with churches. If a family is accepted into the program and willing to move forward and establish good habits, listen and learn from all the support that is offered, they will succeed.
Family Promise serves people in such a real way, by offering them love in the form of food and lodging. It is a pleasure to be able to volunteer to welcome Family Promise guests. I have learned that the guests are just like me and my family, no different at all. My family has had a few close financial calls when we could have come near to needing help, and I do my best to remember this fact. I am grateful that this organization exists!
Helping families that are experiencing homelessness with dignity and normalcy is what Family Promise does best. The children usually can continue to attend their schools with their friends, teachers and activities. Every effort is made to make things family-centered and not institutional . As a volunteer, I have enjoyed interaction with the children to be the most rewarding. Playing games, helping with homework, celebrating birthdays and holidays, and even the simple things like coloring pages in a color book can add a sense of family normalcy and naturalness to the unnatural situation of homelessness.
This organization is wonderful!! Several churches including my church at Grace Presbyterian of Plano support these families that come into Family Promise of Collin County who are homeless and need support until they can get on their feet again. They are families with children who need help to get back on their feet. Life has not been kind to them but they are good families that need support from several churches until they can live on their own again.
Grace Presbyterian was one of the founding churches that stepped up to support this worthy organization and we continue to be there to support these good families.
As a volunteer and now board member of this organization, I've been privileged to be involved in the lives of many served by Family Promise. Volunteering here gives my husband and I the chance to offer a hand up. We have been blessed to cross paths with some amazing families who are working hard to rise out of some tough situations. I would encourage others to consider giving of their time and money to support this organization!
The current director has no idea what she is doing. This message board does not have enough room to speak about what was witnessed. The program can be much better and should have expanded in the last 4 years but it hasn't. Too many families need to be served. This organization does not have any marketing experience and the one person who did have the experience walked away from the program because of the director's behavior with a client or what they call guest. The ground work for the program is really good, however, they need a director in place that knows what they are doing.
