Not only does Homes of Hope assist Stanly County folks without homes, they involve a wide swath of volunteers from every walk of life in the community. Homes of Hope started at ground zero with no housing in Stanly County to assisting more than 1200 struggling people with a simple place to sleep while waking up the County to their individual stories. They started with one house and family in 2005 with their Transitional Housing Program which greatly expanded over the years with a success rate of families moving out into their own housing of over 90%. In 2009 they opened a overnight facility, The Community Inn, to give folks needing emergency housing a place to be. In 2011, they opened Esther House for those escaping domestic abuse. Esther House was spun off into its own non- profit organization in 2013. Homes of Hope started their Permanent Supportive Housing Program in 2017 or so to actually provide affordable housing for those who still need a little help. Homes of Hope is worthy of any assistance they can get!
