Causes: Mental Health
Mission: Our mission is to educate, and fund critically needed research projects to better the lives of patients faced with a blood cancer diagnosis. Besides funding research projects and educating others we also reward memorial scholarships to deserving students who have been affected with a blood cancer and provide financial assistance to families that may need help….all in Michelle’s memory. We are a 100% all volunteer organization that donates over 99% of all proceeds to our mission.
Results: We have donated over $100,000 since our inception to research projects through the LLS and the Van Andel Institute, gave away 6 scholarships to students affected with a cancer diagnosis and helped numerous families get through some financial hardships due to their blood cancer diagnosis. We registered over 45 individuals to the National Bone Marrow Registry and have blood drives every 8 weeks to help our local blood banks.
Target demographics: educate and help fund critically needed blood cancer research and provide scholarships and financial assistance to families faced with a blood cancer diagnosis.
Geographic areas served: Michigan and Grand Rapids areas
Programs: Organizing blood drives and bone marrow drives in our community and funding research through the LLS and the Van Andel Institute. We also educate others regarding leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and offer college scholarships to students that have been affected by blood cancer.
