18 years ago, I went into the hospital to get a "so called" large ovarian cyst removed. After waking up from surgery, my doctor said they took out a rare form of ovarian cancer. Cancer?? What?? No one in my family had ever had cancer - they had everything else under the sun. I was in total shock and quickly called Support Connection from my hospital bed. Maria spent so much time on the phone with me, answering all of my questions, helping me to take a deep breath and gave me tips on how to move forward. She was experienced, so kind and compassionate and saw me through one of the scariest times of my life. I'll never forget how she also helped me prepare questions for the gynecological oncologist and followed up with me many times to see how I was doing. I couldn't turn to anyone in else in my family or circle of friends for advice because they knew nothing about ovarian cancer. The only ones to call were the staff at Support Connection. They were there for me and I always feel very lucky to have them by my side.
Support Connection is a wonderful gem in our community, and we are so lucky to have them. They provide resources to those in need and are always there when the community needs them.

Support Connection is a true partner for the community and the first place I recommended when I learn someone is dealing with a Cancer diagnosis.
When I was diagnosed in 2019 with OC, I went on a hunt to find information and support. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found Support Connection. Robin is warm and kind, and provided me information on activities I can participate in even on the West Coast as well as calling for counseling any time I need to talk. Thank you so much for what you do!
My first introduction to SUPPORT CONNECTION INC. was 5+ years ago. Initially, I was looking for a support group to help a friend who had just received a diagnosis of breast cancer. Support Connection responded immediately, contacting my friend and offering help and emotional support. It was needed information, and very helpful to her at this very low time.
Subsequently, they continued to respond to her questions ... what's normal, what to expect, etc. but more than that, being there at every low moment to speak with her and offer hope. As anyone who has gone through breast cancer knows, emotional support, clarification of medical terminology, and just being a voice to reach out to in this dark hole is invaluable.
My friend eventually succumbed to breast cancer. I am eternally grateful to the support this group gave to her. They are knowledgeable, understanding and a voice in the darkness of this devastating disease.
An amazing staff of people. 5 1/2
N 4 1/2 years ago had very early stage DCIS Breast Cancer in milk ducts only picked up by mammography. No lumps. 8 mos apart between breasts non invasive but radiation with both. Needless to say original diagnosis overwhelming enough since I just turned 70 but to be told 2 nd time was devastating n having to repeat entire journey from biopsy to lumpectomy to radiation. If it wasn’t for Support Connection n their team of angels could never have made it thru alone. The phone sessions the compassion empathy was outstanding along with understanding n relating to all my fears and anxieties they having all been through same themselves. Just can’t say enough thanks to them n praise all the time effort and work this organization does
Forever grateful always. Cecile Wall
My Mom passed away fe Ovarian Cancer a few years ago . She was a big supporter of Support Connection (as is our family) and they were a big supporter of her. The women that work there treat everyone like family and truly love what they do and care for the people that go there.
My dear friend (and more like a sister), Maria Anna Asked me to walk in support of her. I absolutely agreed to do the Walk in October. First, I would like to say that Support Connection is highly organized and makes you feel that you are part of the event. They are gracious and supportive of all in attendance. I had to send my contribution in later which I indicated in my sponsor sheet and I was called as a reminder. The interpersonal skills and general conversation was painless and I was at the bank and I sent a money order to fulfill my obligation. I would volunteer if I had the time; I have volunteered in many capacities since I was 12 years old in the City of Yonkers and beyond.. Thank you, Support Connection Mary (Yonkers, New York)
