I am forever grateful for the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation (SAB) because they are the main reason we currently have our daughter. In November 2014, our beautiful baby girl was relinquished to a fire department using the Safe Haven Law. Our greatest gift, our greatest miracle, our baby girl came to us because of the hard work of this foundation. SAB's tireless efforts in getting the Safe Haven Law enacted and to be well known allowed our birth mom to make the best decision possible for her baby by allowing her to be adopted instead of abandoning her in some unsafe place. Because of SAB, our baby girl was given a chance at life with a family who loves her beyond words. I cannot say enough about this foundation!
Thanks to the volunteers who spend countless hours spreading awareness about legally abandoning their babies which causes harm even death. They have saved over 130 babies from being illegally abandoned in Illinois; one of them was our daughter.
I have been involved with this foundation since it’s inception and to know that we have saved so many babies is so precious and so heartfelt. However, some babies still have died because their moms didn’t know about the Safe Haven Law. Please help us to share this truly life giving law to any and all so that we don’t loose any more of our precious babies.

I have known about this nonprofit since it's creation by Ms. Geras . And I have had the privilege to be a volunteer and witness to the over 180 babies saved. To know that there are so many more families waiting to adopt one of these safe haven babies makes it all the more important that we continue to spread the word about the IL Save Haven Law. What a truly wonderful experience.
I’ve been a volunteer and spokeswoman for 5-6 years and now am a board member. I have a personal story of being abandoned in a dumpster as an infant. Because of SAB I have been able to share my story to help save lives! It’s also been an amazing journey meeting the Safe Haven children and families! SAB has been a family to me and always will be!
We have been involved with the Illinois Save Abandoned Babies Foundation (SAB) since its inception 20 years ago. The organization was formed by 2 of our friends, Dawn Geras and Angie Adler after they saw an article about a baby that died in a dumpster. They knew they had to do something!
Now all 50 states have some form of SAB legislation.
In Illinois we have saved over 140 lives and have helped give these children loving homes and a full life. Nation wide about 5,000 lives have been saved.
This is a very rewarding experience, to have this impact on another individuals life.
So proud to sit on this board! Since it's onset over 130 beautiful babies have been saved, making over 130 grateful families! Every year we host a picnic for all the families. The children call each other cousin!

Without the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation our daughter's birth mother would never have learned about the Safe Haven Law. The compassion this foundation shown for the Safe Haven cause inspired me to become a board member so we can share my daughter's story. We provide Safe Haven locations with educational materials along with signs and other media needed to raise awareness about the law.
I’ve been involved with SAB for many years, and am delighted to witness the joy of families brought together by these efforts. Every baby deserves a loving family, and we are honored to be part of making that possible.
