I am forever grateful for the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation (SAB) because they are the main reason we currently have our daughter. In November 2014, our beautiful baby girl was relinquished to a fire department using the Safe Haven Law. Our greatest gift, our greatest miracle, our baby girl came to us because of the hard work of this foundation. SAB's tireless efforts in getting the Safe Haven Law enacted and to be well known allowed our birth mom to make the best decision possible for her baby by allowing her to be adopted instead of abandoning her in some unsafe place. Because of SAB, our baby girl was given a chance at life with a family who loves her beyond words. I cannot say enough about this foundation!
Love this wonderful organization! They do such incredible work saving abandoned babies and giving them the loving families they so deserve. Last year our organization, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, gave the founder of Abandoned Babies, Dawn Geras, our 'Friend of Children' Award at our annual statewide child abuse prevention conference. Dawn and her team of advocates are incredible as well as the families and children this organization helps to support.
Save Abandoned Babies Foundation (SAB) does amazing work. They promote Safe Havens as a means of keeping vulnerable infants alive. In fact, more than 100 children are alive in IL because of their efforts. And, more than 4000 children are alive across the US because the leaders from SAB work cross-functionally with other states to promote Safe Havens.
SAB has worked to get our Baby Safe Haven Law passed, improved and improved again. They work to educate youth, young adults and teachers about the Law and how it works to save lives. They also train law enforcement and fire fighters about the Law. They are the group who puts advertising up on bus stops, on city buses, and in the shopping malls. Their tireless work to help save newborns is awe-inspiring. They are my heroes!
