Description: "In battle and in the face of danger and death, he discloses those divine attributes which his Maker gave when He created man in His own image. No physical courage and no brute instinct can take the place of the Divine help which alone can sustain him."
This is a beautiful quote from General Douglas MacArthur and actually sums up what Operation Bandanas mission is. Soldiers on the battlefield need to be reminded that God;s presence is with them. The Psalm 91 bandana that Operation Bandanas provides to our troops are inspirational and remind our troops that they are supported, remembered, appreciated, and being prayed for back home. The bandana is also a useful tool for a soldier, ie, to cover the mouth, nose and ears from the sand and dust; tied around the head as a sweat rag; and as an emergency wrap for a splint, sling, or tourniquet. One Chaplain also shared with OpBan that he often sees the bandanas used to wipe the tears from the eyes of a soldier at a memorial service for his fallen comrade.

Target demographics: Our deployed military. Also, those serving in other parts of the world away from their families and home.

Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 40,000

Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: help fold and package the bandanas. Write notes on the cards we enclose with each bandana.

Geographic areas served: Whereever our military are training and preparing to deploy, and those deployed and serving in hostile environments and around the world.

USA locations: Fayetteville, NC, the home of OpBan, and military intallations scattered all across the USA

Board Members and Affiliation: Operation Bandanas has a Board of Directors made up of ten individuals who serve in various capacities in our community.

Mission:
Ministering to our military with a Psalm 91 bandana, one soldier at a time.
Results:
As of 9/11/11, Operation Bandanas has provided 180,000 Psalm 91 bandanas to our deployed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. By year's end, we fully expect 200,000 bandanas to have been provided. We have donors from all over the country now. What started as a ministry to cover and bless deploying Ft. Bragg soldiers, has turned into a nationwide ministry of spiritual support and encouragement.
