Results: Some of our recent accomplishments include:
* We continue to provide nurturing foster care in Cambodia, Uganda, and India, including our Safe Haven foster care program for trafficked or abused children. Our foster care program has allowed over 3,500 children to live in family-based care versus an institution. LWB has local managers on site in every foster care community who check on the progress of the children in their foster homes every month.
* LWB’s medical program continues to provide surgeries to children abandoned with conditions such as cleft lip, spinal tumors, congenital heart defects, and more. Our Unity Initiative for impoverished children also provides heart surgeries when their parents are unable to afford care.
*LWB's education program helps children of all ages with several different programs. Over 3,700 children have received access to education, from preschool through college. Our Believe in Me schools and centers in rural Cambodia and Guatemala provide primary school education to children in remote villages, while our education scholarship program helps orphaned and impoverished children in Cambodia.
* Our nutrition program is helping to provide much-needed formula, cereal, and hot lunches to children of all ages in LWB programs. LWB provides daily hot lunches to children in our Believe in Me schools in Cambodia and Guatemala as childhood malnutrition rates are extremely high in the rural regions where we are working.
