Mission: The Hartfel mission is to facilitate greater awareness of the individual through the arts, in particular the art of ballet. We at Hartfel want to inspire self-worth and a sustaining belief in each individuals ability to make a lasting and meaningful contribution to each other and our community.
  • Give Southern California residents a first-rate, professional ballet company, The JohnC Art Ballet.
  • Advance a revolutionary teaching program that makes a difficult art form accessible to all
  • Offer vital body awareness and art-conscious services to the blind, hearing-impaired, wheel-chair bound, as well as the economically and socially challenge

  • Programs: Classes are structured to focus on basic movement awareness with an emphasis on confidence, posture, and building spatial awareness skills. From this basic foundation the classes advance into formal ballet steps and vocabulary. Opportunities for serious students who wish to pursue ballet with a performance emphasis will become available as the program progresses, eventually leading to the possibility of a career as a professional member of the Hartfel Ballet.

I have followed the Hartfel Ballet Co. since its beginning and attended almost every performances. Their progress in perfecting their art has been amazing. They continue to delight with their professional, high quality dancing and their dedication to the art of ballet and to the company. They are also eager to serve the community with their outreach programs, but are hampered by their lack of funds. It would be great if the hard working dancers could actually get paid for their outstanding work.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The outstanding, professional quallity of their dancing and the respect and support they have for eachother.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could realize its efforts for community outreach programs, get an upgraded studio and pay its dancers.
