Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: "What happens to my animals if something happens to me?" Furever Friends Rescue is a 501(c)(3) corporation that has been designed to answer this question. As a result we are helping to reduce the number of intakes and euthanasia in Maricopa and Pinal Counties by helping people with life changing circumstances find new homes for their beloved pets. Individuals facing assisted living, nursing homes, hospice or those dealing with the death of a loved one now have an option: to relinquish their pets to us directly where they will be put up for adoption bypassing public intake. When space permits we take animals from public intake facilities to help reduce the number of animals euthanized.

This is an AMAZING organization run by AMAZING people. When an dog/puppy visits us for a quick hello, it's often with tail a-waggin! That is VERY unusual for a kennel situation, I would imagine. The animals and the animal parents are treated with care, dignity and respect. It trickles from the President down as far as expectations and the experience for both the adopter and adoptee. It's often a heart wrenching time for someone surrendering an animal be it due to death or long term care. Also, when an animal is given a second chance and comes to us from the Kill-List at county, often times, the little guys are petrified of everything. Everyone does their best to make sure they are getting the love and attention deserving of a living creature and help re-hab our newest residents. It's more often than not, a two way street.

I have had the opportunity to meet both Shari and Nancy of Furever Friends on several occasions. Their care and concern for the animals they take in is amazing. I have been to their facility multiple times, and I cannot get over how clean it ALWAYS is. Anytime you walk in you are welcomed with a warm hello, and you can just tell how well cared for the animals are. Furever Friends is a blessing to our community.
