We adopted an older horse from Front Range Equine Rescue in Colorado several years ago. They were very helpful throughout the process and always provided support. They are an outstanding organization with an essential mission--to prevent horse abuse through rescue and education. We are proud to be supporters of their cause.
I was fortunate to adopt a handsome thoroughbred from FRER in 1999. Hilary Wood helped in all aspects of the adoption process, making sure Tommie was a perfect fit for me and that I understood any special care that was needed. I have continued to follow this rescue for the past 20 years and am amazed what Hilary continues to do for the welfare of horses in our country. It's obvious her heart, passion (and of course hard work) are the foundations of this rescue.

When it was time to go horse shopping I happened to come across Front Range Equine Rescue. One of their horses in assessment caught my eye. He had not been with them for long and needed a lot of care to restore his health. Every so often I checked on his progress as there was "just something" about him...
Months later I made contact with Front Range and got an update. Not long after that I was able to go visit and I have to admit I was already crazy about this horse even though I knew he had not been fully evaluated. Looking back now I am so happy to have waited for this diamond in the rough. I've had the absolute joy of working with a horse who had been in the wrong hands at a young age and now can teach him even more than all humans are not bad. Our bond is so strong and he's an avid learned (and teacher to me too). Thank you, thank you to Front Range for all they do for horses and those of us who love them.
Front Range Equine Rescue is a wonderful, progressive organization that saves individual horses on the ground and also fights to protect horses from future harms, including slaughter for human consumption overseas.
I adopted two horses from Front Range Equine Rescue, through the president and founder, Hilary Wood. Both horses had been abused, but Hilary and her team rehabilitated them both to the point where they were great trail horses, loving and willing to please. FRER's commitment to rescue and rehabilitation is second to none. They are also outspoken regarding the plight of wild horses and burros, and are at the forefront of the anti-horse slaughter movement. Because of the aforementioned, I believe that Front Range Equine Rescue should be awarded your highest honors. Steve Neuman, Elizabeth, Colorado
