I am a native Floridian who now lives in California but I still have family in Florida and love my home state with all my heart. My beaches, when I was growing up in Florida, were Jacksonville and Neptune and Atlantic but I also love St. Augustine's Crescent Beach. When I visit family I spend a lot of time cleaning Florida's beautiful beaches. Then one day I found out about the turtle patrols and I was hooked on their mission. I am a lover of all wildlife and wild spaces and that's why it pains me to see the degradation of Florida's ocean environment from tons of trash and beach furniture that traps and kills so many of our precious sea turtles. I was spending all my time alone trying to fill in holes that really needed an earth mover to fill. I spent countless hours picking up all kinds of beach furniture and human garbage. I can hardly wait to visit again, once it's safe, and meet up with this group and work alongside them. I am a proud supporter of the turtle patrol and of the turtle hospital in St. Augustine. If it were not for our sea turtle patrol this wonderful species would surely be suffering much more and would likely be in decline. I thank God for them and the work they do! I love you, Beaches!!!

BSTP monitors sea turtle activity along approx. 10.5 miles of beach in Duval County, FL. BSTP maintains a web page which provides a lot of useful information about sea turtles in general and more specifically about nesting and false crawls in the local area. Many public information events are planned each season.

Beaches Turtle Patrol are some of the most dedicated humans on this planet. The work they do is wonderful for the planet and our sea turtle friends, but what alot of people don't know is the work is hard and tedious at times and mostly if not fully compiled volunteer hours.
I work with many turtle patrol groups, Beaches Turtle Patrol are always professional, organized, and efficient.
