Our mission is to provide opportunities for cultural enrichment through broad-based educational experiences and quality performances and art showings to people of all ages.
Results: We spent a lot of time this raising funds to cover the costs of our new facility. We share a 1,200 square foot space with the chamber of commerce. In the past we scheduled other location in the city to offer services and programs but this new space allows us to expand our impact and our services.
Target demographics: We serve the general public, youth through adults, however recent statistics from the American Census indicate that up to 38.8 percent of youth under the age of 18 in Balch Springs live below the poverty level.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 youth and adults were served in 2010 - as audience members, performers, students, instructors, and artists
Programs: Community performances, Young Entrepreneur Club (age 13-22), fine arts classes (age 3-93)

I've enjoyed watching many performances at the arts alliance. These are quality performances that include local youth onstage with professionals. As a store owner I interact with a lot of our local youth and I can see a big change in those who have been involved with programs at the arts alliance. My 10-year old nephew takes guitar classes. Several of the local teenagers participate in the Young Entrepreneur Club. These teenagers put on a halloween festival in 2010 through the arts alliance and raised funds to support the young entrepreneur program. It was an outstanding event, especially since it was youth-led and coordinated.
