A.H.A.V.A. is an organization that I founded to help promote English Literacy in Israel. Too often children do not get the necessary English within the school system in order to be able to go on towards higher education. Our goal is to ensure that if a child wants to learn English they will be able to, even if he has learning difficulties, lives in the periphery, or his parents have financial limitations. It gives me great satisfaction to watch a child develop her English DESPITE all the stumbling blocks in her path. We now have students who started with us in Kindergarten and are at the top of their class in Junior High. I look forward to watching them graduate University as our top chemists, engineers, doctors, sociologists, psychologists, etc.... They are the future of our country, our future Nobel Prize winners. A.H.A.V.A. is only limited by our donations as to how many children we can reach. Supporting A.H.A.V.A. is supporting Israel's future!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
running the organization on a daily basis, teaching classes, fund-raising, running special projects.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
is seeing children learn to speak and read English. It is like magic....
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
fantastic. Every volunteer and staff member gives above and beyond what they need to do. Often, I only find out at the end of the year that a teacher has been tutoring a child on the side or adding a quarter hour to her class.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
reach thousands and thousands more students in Israel.
