We visited McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary and were so impressed with their love and care for their animals. It was meticulously kept with knowledgeable staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our day…we traveled approximately 118 miles to visit and it was well worth our drive.

I’ve been visiting McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary for almost 20 yrs. Each time the property is more beautiful. It is clear the love and great care these animals get as they all look so healthy and seem very content and calm. The staff is so knowledgeable and seem completely invested in the well being of all the animals. The tour includes a look at the kitchen area where the animals food is prepared which is pristine clean each time.
It’s a wonderful place to visit and is crucial in getting education to our younger generation for they are our future. Bravo to the McCarthys and their amazing staff and gorgeous animals.

McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary is a place I’ve visited since 2011. It is by far the cleanest sanctuary I’ve seen in my lifetime. What a pleasure it is to see all the animals truly happy and healthy. There is a definite bond between the animals and their caregivers. The animals enclosures are so clean and have enrichment items specific to their species. McCarthy’s has set the bar high for what a sanctuary should be like for the best life of its animals.
McCarthys has the most amazing animals and the tour guides are very knowledgable about them. The homes for these animals and birds are beautiful, clean and so well kept. Everyone should go visit McCarthys!

I took my aunt to McCarthy's last year when she and a friend visited me. It was the first visit there for all of us and we went back again this year! What a beautiful sanctuary with amazing animals, especially big cats! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about every detail of the park and every animal. This is definitely a place worth seeing!
For about 10 yrs now I have been enthralled with McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. It's my go to happy place! I talk about it all the time and send as many people as I can out there to enjoy an incredible experience. Never in my life have I ever been to taken by a place and their animals. So well cared for. Clean. No animal smell. And the stories behind each animal is worth hearing. I highly recommend McCarthy's to send friends, family , anyone out to enjoy the experience. LOVE THAT PLACE!!!!!

If I had mores stars to pick for rating it would have to be about 20 million more to show what I feel about McCarthy's. They have to be one of the best sanctuary's anywhere. The care of all the animal's. How clean and well maintained the whole campus is. The The knowledge and expertise to care for and rehab any animal that comes to them for care. Latest example a bobcat named Roy who was there for several months after being hit by a car and released not too long ago. I call it my happy place due to the happiness I feel when I leave there. McCarthy's in my opinion is impeccable and I would advise anyone that has the chance to go visit. You will not regret it.
Have been going here for over 10 years. At one time I had bottle fed or romped with most of the big cats.
Awesome experience for bird lovers, big cat lovers, reptile lovers or just animal lovers!

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful place, a gem. The facility offers a guided tour, which is both informative and fun! The sanctuary is spotless and very well managed. All the creatures are extremely well cared for and truly loved. I’ve never experienced anything as fabulous as McCarthy’s. You will not be disappointed. The love Aneth and Mark have for all of the animals, birds and reptiles in their care is obvious. The big cats are amazing to see so up close! Run don’t walk to McCarthy’s! We love it there.

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is by far the most beautiful, unique, and interesting places I’ve ever visited. It is well run and absolutely spotless. You can sense immediately the love and dedication that Mark and Aneth McCarthy have for all of the animals in their care. The private guided tours are exceptional. The tour guides are witty and well informed. I always enjoy the back stories about some of the big cats! It’s educational and yet a lot of fun, for all ages. The tours are modest in both time and cost. Much better than any zoo where you are basically left on your own and don’t really learn anything about the various animals, let alone see them as closely as you do while at McCarthy’s.
A visit to McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is a priceless experience. You will NOT be disappointed. We love it there. You will want to return again and again!
The experience is both educational and magical. It is evident that the tour guides and staff have deep, loving relationships with all the animals. There are opportunities to hold all kinds of different animals from furry to slimy! This is a wonderful way to support the rehabilitation and conservation of a huge variety of exotic animals.

The owners and staff have such a loving bond with their animals and it’s obvious they go above and beyond for the animals in their care. They not only rescue & rehabilitate native Florida wildlife but also offer a permanent loving home for endangered species. A tour at this beautiful facility is a once in a lifetime experience that provides the public with an educational look at animals from all over the world. The zookeepers that work with the animals everyday give the tours and not only tell the guests about the species but also about the individual animal’s backstory on how they came to the sanctuary. By giving guests this personalized wildlife experience, the public leaves their tour not only with wonderful memories of a lifetime but also with knowledge on how they can save these species in the wild.

Mccarthys Wildlife Sanctuary is a once in a lifetime experience. It will truly blow you away. It’s so much better than any zoo. You can tell the animals are loved and extremely well cared for, and all of the zookeepers are so knowledgeable. They not only rescue native Florida wildlife and rehabilitate them, but also give a permanent home to wildlife from all over that world that have come to them through all sorts of situations. The owners have hearts of gold and pour everything into the animals in their care. There needs to be more places and people like this to teach others about animals and the importance of conservation. 5/5 stars doesn’t even come close to describing how wonderful this sanctuary is!
This is the NICEST private sanctuary I’ve ever seen. All the exhibits are spotless and the animals are definitely put first. The owners are extremely down to earth and dedicate all their time to the animals. Super cool place to checkout in West palm beach!!
Mccarthy wildlife sanctuary is a wonderful experience! Our guide was so informative and the collection of animals is so unique. They are all so well taken care of. Mark is also a wonderful person. Recently he and his team rescued a beautiful bobcat and nurses it back to health. He truly cares about all animals!!!!!
The McCarthy sanctuary was such a pleasure to visit. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and respectful towards the animals, all of which seem to be thriving under their care. The grounds were well maintained and sets the standard for animal rescue organizations.
Anytime we find an injured animal McCarthys is always there to help. We are so thankful for them! Recently they answered a call for help from one of our local FB pages. A bobcat had been hit by a car and was injured. They nursed him back to health and released him back into the wild. McCarthys thank you for all you do!!

McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary set such an amazing example of what wildlife facilities should be. When you step foot through their gates, the first thing you’ll notice is how immaculately clean every walk way and enclosure is. How organized they keep their food prep room and food donations. Every person working there has a smile on their face and you can tell that they really love the work that they do to better the lives of these animals. And everyone is extremely passionate in articulating the educational facts necessary behind each animal. McCarthys is an overall 10/10 experience and they are such well deserving people for the hard work and dedication they put into their sanctuary.

McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary is South Floridas best kept secret and an absolute must see if you find yourself in the area. Tour goers are able to experience the beauty of multiple species of big cats, birds, reptiles, and more up close and personal. Nothing but positive things to say about this facility and their staff.
I have been here several times with my family. Everyone has a wonderful time. Visits are limited to two small scheduled groups per day. Our family has learned so much about the animals that have been rescued. The enclosures are clean and well thought out with different options to keep the animals busy and occupied. It is great to see how loved these animals are. You can clearly see how much effort the caretakers put into ensuring the well being of the animals. They are all rescues. We love hearing, although most are not good, the backstory of each animal and now seeing how much better off they are now. We also learn about what the animals eat daily, their health care, how they are cared for during storms, and the costs that are incurred to maintain the care.
I highly recommend a visit.

I was first introduced to Mark through my wife who had known him for years growing up in the exotic pet industry. Mark would and still does support our shop and stops by for supplies and feed for his sanctuary. By far, Mark and his Wife Aneth with his whole staff are the most wonderful people. Transparent, giving, genuine, authentic humans who care for their animals in ways that most only dream of. Up before dawn every morning, Aneth personally deals with the Venomous animal collection and oversees the start of the day, the intricacies of the actual day and into the night she continues working hard to ensure both her and her family are the role model of animal husbandry. You will not visit a cleaner more well ran facility in most of all the world. Mark has been a staple of desirable change in the industry since his start. Seeing all the good and the bad, much more of the latter... He embarked over 30 years ago to change the way people viewed animals. From the way the animal industry markets itself, the way it has a reputation amongst society, to what is actually being done by good people.. Mark has been there to see it all and steer people like myself and our family away from the selling of animals and viewing them as just potential monetary gain to actually caring for and giving animals the absolute best that someone can. Mark has taught his friends and visitors to cherish, preserve, speak to and have relationships with our fellow creations on this earth. His example has encouraged many that are following now in his footsteps to stay the course, keep the faith and continue to help humanity stay in contact with the wild life in our wild ride we all call life. Right, left, whatever the issue.. animals bring us all together, as has McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. McCarthys Wildlife is an amazing place. You can see the animals in an intimate setting, and enjoy them for as long as you like. The guides are right there to answer any questions, and will let you hold some of the smaller animals. My favorites are the tigers. It’s a great place to go.
This is a true gem found in Palm Beach County and how lucky all of the animals are to be a part of this awesome sanctuary! We spent a few hours there complete with a guided tour who explained in detail each animal we encountered. You can tell that all of the animals are happy, so well taken care of and loved.
I have been to the sanctuary several times and always enjoy the tour. The care and knowledge of the staff is impressive. So many souls have been saved thanks to this dedicated organization.
McCartheys is the absolute best wildlife rescue I’ve ever visited. It’s a beautiful space and the owners and staff take such good care of the animals. I highly recommend visiting and taking a guided tour.
McCarthy’s is in my opinion, after an African safari, the next best thing you can do for a wild animal experience. And even better, you are closer to the animals!
The staff is knowledgeable, entertaining, engaging and caring. (They’re the caretakers as well as the tour guides.).
Aneth and Mark McCarthy aren’t in it for the money (not even close!). They truly love all their animals and it shows. The enclosures (can’t call them cages) are clean and engaging. With that many cats you’d think there would be an aroma but nope. Even in hot humid Florida it’s delightful.
Go. Take your over-five kids. It’s awesome!
McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is a “very special place”.
The owners Mark and Anath are two very warm people that open their home to care for a selection of amazing animals (big cats) and treat them all as family. Some of the animals have sad stories but have been saved and lead a happy life at the sanctuary. Others have bitter sweet moments in that they receive individual care, get healthy enough to be released back into the wild. I would highly recommend you visit and experience first hand the great work and care this non-profit conducts. Its one of my favorite places in South Florida. I am sure you will learn something on their small intimate tours and not be disappointed. Be sure to make a reservation.

My family has known the Mccarthys for over 10 years. My mother was a solid volunteer up until the year she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is cancer of the bone marrow. Sadly since she’s lost her battle but Mark and Aneth have become more like family with their check ins and attendance to her funeral and one of a kind genuine gifts given to my loyal mother to their nonprofit. She loved those beautiful wild animals and my father is a sponsor to their charity. Mccarthys Wildlife Sanctuary are Amazing caring compassionate people who love animals and that love extends to us humans as well!!

We had no expectations when we toured McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary, it just seemed like something interesting to do. So we were beyond surprised at how great it was. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and handled the questions from children to adults with grace, candor and intelligence. They have a great facility - clean and well laid out.
They are awesome the staff are friendly and Knowledgeable. Took my grandkids and they let them experience touching some of the animals which made it a great experience for them. I love they rehab and return animals back to the wild. I recommend going to McCarthy’s to everyone.

Absolutely a great experience! I recommend making your reservations now and take a tour. You are taken around by a tour guide who tells you how they got the animals and even about the animals personality. The tour guides are also the ones who care for the animals so they bring the animals up close for you to see. Just by looking you can tell the animals are well care for and have bonds with the tour guides.

Where do I start. I love this place...the people, the animals, just everything. It's our escape to nature. Nestled in a residential community are the most elegant and well cared for exotic animals at the McCarthy's Sanctuary. In fact (the Owners) Aneth and Mark McCarthy have their home right in the center of this fabulous place. The guides that tour you through the Sanctuary (appx 2 hrs) are so knowledgeable about the animals and their history that it will amaze you, and most of the guides have been with the animals since their arrival. Now this is not a zoo so don't scrunch your face up. THIS is the absolute best place these big cats, reptiles, birds and other species could ever hope for. Come see for yourself just how well maintained, clean and well cared for these guys and gals are. You will be up close and personal with endangered species and other animals that you only dream about. McCarthy's are special people with amazing skills and extensive knowledge about each and every animal here. You will find that these gorgeous creatures are healthy, happy and well cared for. You might even face your fears.
We have come to know Mark & a few of the workers. We’ve witnessed their release efforts and visited the sanctuary. The knowledge of every animal, their back ground and lifestyle habits is impressive. It’s impeccably clean, and the variety is awesome. I recommend to everyone. Truly passionate about his work!
The facility is so clean and the animals are clearly loved and well taken care of. I am not a fan of zoos but I was comfortable with McCarthys. They do wonderful work in animal rehab.
As soon as you walk thru the gate you know the animals are taken care of. I've been to the sanctuary many a times and will continue. The private tour of the sanctuary leaves you with knowledge of how the animals were "rescued".In fact they just release a rehabilitated bobcat back to wild! Go visit say hi to Blue!!!!

We have now traveled twice from California to West Palm Beach Florida over the past year and a half, it is that amazing. The genuine care & love Aneth & Mark show for all their animals shines through in the well kept facilities, the feeling of comfort seen with the animals while touring. They take great pride in all they do. But to me one of the most important things they do is educate people about these animals. I learned so much from my visits there, and I always feel welcome to ask questions. This will be a place we go to for many years to come.

I have been going to McCarthy’s since 2011. I have romped with 8 different animals. The place is very clean and the animals are very well kept. I always do the tour with my romps. It’s great to see how much they all grown year to year!
This place is amazing!! Very clean. They must rake leaves and pine tree areas every hour! Awesome. I wish they were closer to New York!! I would visit once a month. There was one "cat" under 40 lbs so we got to hold it and play with it. They have lots of animals and snakes but I wanted to spend all my time with lions and tigers. The animals are lucky to get such good care. We were so thrilled to have this opportunity play with baby tiger! I have held huge snakes in Thailand and a baby lion in Mexico. McCathys is the best! Best place to take your children to learn about wildlife! They are very knowledgeable, the sanctuary is very clean and we’ll maintained. I also seem to get sad when I go to a zoo! Mccarthy’s Is nothing like a zoo, you can tell the animals are well taken care of loved and happy.... I recommend McCarthy’s 100% especially if you ever went to the zoo and got sad for the animals. You won’t get that feeling at McCarthy’s!!
i have been to McCarthy’s several times and it is always a great experience. The property is impeccably kept and the animals are all happy and relaxed. The guides are knowledgeable and you can see the mutual adoration between them and the animals. You will not regret supporting this sanctuary. It is truly one of the best experiences you can have.
I was so happy when I found this hidden gem of a sanctuary. I love the place and the family that lives there. They are doing an amazing job. I especially love the encounter opportunities..which I call once in a life time experience each time I get to go. I hope they keep up the great job with all the animals and learning experience for guest on the different type animals and some of there endangered status. It's sad the rest our world is depleting the species.

We took our son and two grandchildren (ages 10 and 14) for a tour of the sanctuary. Our guide was wonderful! He regaled us with stories about the individual animals and the species that we were viewing. We were delighted to see the animals responding to the attention of their keepers. The enclosures were clean and there were appropriate stimulation devices for the animals. The serpentarium was second to none!! I highly recommend this tour! I am pleased to have been able to support this excellent non-profit Sanctuary in their mission to help injured and abandoned animals.

On our trip to West Palms Florida we had the pleasure of going to McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary to see some amazing animals up close! If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend going! Our tour guide was amazing! She gave us info on all the animals we saw like what they eat in a typical week (A LOT), what their personalities are like and how these animals found their way to them. She made sure to wake up the big cats and make them play so we could see them in action! All the animals were within a couple feet. Truly an unforgettable experience!
I got to visit this place back in April and I loved it there! All of the staff there was super friendly and knowledgeable of all the animals. I'm a huge animal lover and am obsessed with the big cats so it was great that you can get up close and personal with the animals. You can tell they take very good care of all the animals. I will be definitely visiting again the next time I'm back In West Palm Beach!
McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary has been important to our family for over a decade now. My kids have grown up loving these animals. Our experiences there have been amazing! I was previously a volunteer and learned so much helping to take care of the animals and their living spaces. Love to see the beautiful animals and be able to interact and learn more about them. The staff is amazing and we've loved watching the sanctuary grow. I recommend this to everyone we know as a must do when in South Florida.

I have been here twice each time it was a really good experience. The first time I brought my family. It was very educational and really nice to see the animals are extremely well taken care of. The fact that this is a sanctuary for God's creatures that may not otherwise be well cared for is what touches me the most. This is not a place for animals simply to be kept to amuse people. I brought friends from New York on a separate occasion and they were very impressed with the care and cleanliness well as the information we received from our guide, who was personable, respectful and informative without coming off as smug and "know-it-all" like. I highly recommend McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary as a place to visit for people of all ages.

I was a volunteer at McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary last summer! I was in charge of a lot of different tasks from cleaning cages, raking, preparing food for the animals and more. I also was given the opportunity to experience the wildlife tours with the zookeepers ! There are a range of animals that I got to see on these tours including ones that everyone could hold such as a Macaw and a Kinkajou ! The zookeepers are so educated and nice and answer any questions you have ! I loved volunteering and going on the tours and would definitely go back :)
I've been a fan of McCarthy's since I was a kid. The team works harder than anyone I know and has a deep connection and cares for the animals within the sanctuary whether they are permanent residents or in the rehab/release program.
I have never seen a cleaner, better maintained Big Cat rescue facility. But more importantly, the love, care and maintenance provided by Mark, Aneth and staff is beyond extraordinary. They also care for birds, reptiles and other various animals. McCarthy's offer tours and occasional "romps" with a young big cat or another rescued animal. A trip here is a once in a lifetime experience and well worth every single donated penny! Do Not miss a chance to visit McCarthy's!
I've been to McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary two times with my family and our experiences were fantastic! The tour guides are very knowledgeable about all the amazing animals that they have there. Their professionalism is outstanding. Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy are always around to greet visitors with a smile. The animals and their enclosures are very well taken care of, and the fact that you can interact with some of the animals is just great! I'm always mesmerized by the big felines that they have there! I'm grateful that sanctuaries like this exist because they are the key to protect endangered species and give them the best care that they deserve. Can't wait to visit again!
My wife and I were extremely impressed, Manny the guide was fabulous! His knowledge was incredible as well as his interaction with every animal The enclosures were very clean, secure and sizeable. It was evident that the animals were comfortable and well taken care of. I am a big cat lover and the variety of the cats was awesome, including the rarest and most endangered of species! I'm a huge fan and will certainly be back soon!

I have been a volunteer here off and on for the last three years and I can conclusively say that it has been one of the best things I've ever done. The amount of care and respect everyone who works here has for these animals is stunning. The educational tours are impeccable, thorough, and fascinating. All in all, an amazing place to work and visit!
I was fortunate to volunteer at McCarthy's Wildlfe for a few years. To this day, that experience is still one of my fondest. I have always been a huge animal lover and the love and respect and genuine care that Mark and Aneth have for their animals shines every time you visit the sanctuary. I absolutely love McCarthy's wildlife! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!
Additionally, Mark did two years of birthday parties for my daughters and each year was better than the last. The parties focused on education, conservation and rehabilitation which is exactly what McCarthy's focuses on. The parties were absolutely the best we have ever had, still!

I'm not even a huge animal lover but I found this place to be amazing! I recommend it to everyone. The animals are stunning!! The staff is so well educated on these animals. Our guide happened to have a bond with one of them, Blue, and the way he responded to her was just incredible. The animals are very well taken care of and you can tell that the owners really care about them. The tour is not some mediocre short run-through but rather a detailed look into the lives of these animals. It was so fascinating that my 6 year old never complained once. Can't wait to go back!
I went to McCarthy's in december and it was amazing. You can really see the love and passion that is put into this place. So much lovely details and such dedicated and nice workers. The guided tour was very professional and I learned a lot. Very nice for kids too !
The McCarthy Wildlife Sanctuary take great care of the adopted animals. All the animals have ample space to enable movement and playtime exercise that is essential to them. All the animals look happy and healthy. The animals are safely guarded from causing any harm to the guests. Mark, Aneth and all the volunteers and staff are friendly. They show passion and pride in taking care of their Animals. Future expansion in order to accommodate more animals would be fantastic! Great wildlife Sanctuary.
Amazing place. Mark is the best and has a true passion and love for each and every animal at his sanctuary. From the smallest creature to the largest, they all get the best care an living being could ask for outside its natural living environment.
This facility is absolutely amazing. The animals are truly loved and cared for here, and the staff is all so well-educated on the animals. It's incredible how close you are able to get with the animals and how clean the sanctuary is. I can not express how much I enjoyed McCarthy's Wildlife! I recommend it to any animal lover!
If you are considering a trip to West Palm Beach, I would highly recommend a visit to this wildlife sanctuary. The guided tours are full of good information, and the place is extremely clean and peaceful.
Amazing facility!!! The staff and tour guides are all extremely well educated on the animals. The entire facility is spotless and the animals are all very well cared for. You do not get lost in a huge crowd of people, they only do small private tours of about 20 people so you are free to ask questions, and even handle some of the animals. This is a very UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL tour, nothing like you will ever experience at a zoo!!!!
Our visit here was awesome. The staff and volunteers at McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary are dedicated to their animals, conservation, and education. The experience was unforgettable and we're looking forward to many future visits.
This is a wonderful animal sanctuary. The animals are loved and cared for and each animal's needs understood. MCCarthy's is impeccably clean. It is a n amazing place for humans to visit but, even more important a place where animals who could not be out in the world can live a good life.
We love visiting McCarthy 's Wildlife Sanctuary. For any animal lover like myself this place is a close as you can get to heaven on earth.
We go to McCarthy's as often as we can. The tours are wonderful and you learn so much about the animals and how they live. The sanctuary is always so clean and everyone is so nice and is such an awesome experience! I can not say enough good things about McCarthy's. Try it and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Really impressive! We had a blast, and it was so much better than visiting a zoo. I couldn't believe how close we could get to the animals, or how well-maintained things were. Everything was really clean, and there were so many kinds of animals. I definitely recommend a visit or two!
I've visited the Sanctuary back in January 2013 while I was in the US, and I have to tell you that it left a mark on me. I was really impressed about the owners, the entire volunteer staff and by their devotion towards all the animals they have there. The story which impressed me the most was about the owner and his lion / tiger (can't remember exactly which one was), him being the only person the cat would allow him to approach and feed and also pet. Visiting McCarthy's Wildlife is a wonderful experience for the whole family! The tour guides are exceptionally knowledgeable and they tell engaging stories about each and every animal as you walk around the Sanctuary. The animal encounters are such a special experience too! ! It is definitely worth the trip for a visit!!
What an amazing experience! I have never seen any other place with grounds so immaculate and all of the animals so loved and cared for. It is my first stop whenever I have family or friends in town.
I took my mother here for her birthday in 2014, at the time they had blue a baby white tiger that they weren't expecting, they first show you around their sanctuary which is in TOP shape. Their big cats don't look like they have anxiety or depression which to me was my favorite part of the whole experience, I can't tell you how many times I've been to a place with big cats and seen them pacing back and fourth stressed out. They not only try to inform you of their health and care taking process but they also include tidbits like birth control for the cats. Then we touched the baby tiger. And my oh my was that the best. He was so energetic and fun and loving. The staff was well informed and looked like they're a team that works together but is also friends. We loved it there my mother had a fantastic time.
This place is amazing. I've been several times and plan on going back again and again. The animals are all loved and cared for and the facility is always spotless. I don't know how they do it, but they do, and I can't thank them enough for allowing people to visit their sanctuary.
I had the Mccarthys Wildlife come to my daughter's birthday party. It was very educational for the kids as well as the adults learning about the animals he brought for the event. My daughter remembers it to this day! Very fun and educational!
We came all the way from Denmark, to see Mccarthys wildlife sanctuary and it was totally worth it. We were very impressed with our tour guide. His passion for the animals touched me. And the way they put the animals wellbeing above anything else, is impressive.
This sanctuary is a great place to visit and is taken care of by a loving owner who takes so much pride with the animals and there well being.
This sanctuary has taken in hundreds of animals that were either injured or not wanted anymore! I've been on several tours with warm and caring employees that tell you about all of the animals and the animal's personal story. The grounds and the cages are all kept well maintained. The guides interact with all of the animals and you can tell that the animals love the guides. I've given $$ donations as well as food and other supplies because I respect what the owners have done and continue to do for these mostly exotic animals. Please check the sanctuary out next time you are in West Palm Beach!
My boyfriend and I went to McCarthy's when Blue the white tiger was still a little Kitten. We had a tour of the grounds and saw all the animals that have been rescued. You can tell these animals are well cared for and loved. If you ever have a chance to go I would recommend going. I can't wait to go again and bring the kids.
We live one block away and these folks are an amazing part of our community. They take great care of the animals in an extrodinarily clean environment, the animals are playful and happy. It is a wonderful experience to visit and we feel privileged to live so close being able to hear the roar of Aslan in the morning and evening.
We took our Cub Scout's for a visit and it was the most informative and educational place we went to. All the animals were well taken care of and all the enclosures were clean and safe... Mr McCarthy thoroughly explained the rules before we enter area, he was also our guide and we all had a great time. I would highly recommend visiting and/or donates to the McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary!
I have loved going to McCarthy's for years!! Every time we visit, you can see any money donated goes directly to the care of the animals and their habitats. Mark and his family/staff are really passionate about the well being of the animals at the sanctuary, and it shows!! We will continue to visit their as often as we can!!
I visited McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary and it was the highlight of my trip to West Palm Beach area. The animals are lovingly cared for, the grounds are kept immaculate, and the staff is knowledgable on the proper care for the vast variety of animals who call this place their home. The small tours allowed for chances to pet some of the smaller animals and the staff guided us through, explaining about each animal. In some instances they even talked about how they got to rescue the animal they had. I have been making donations to McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary a few times a year since I first visited and I plan to make a trip back there again soon. They go above and beyond when caring for these animals who would otherwise have noplace to call home.
My family and I visited McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary during a recent trip to Florida. It was really the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed seeing and learning about all of the animals that live there. The tour guide was both knowledgable and entertaining. You can tell she really loves her job. The animals are so well cared for and interacted with the guide on the tour. We have visited many zoos during our travels, but this is by far the cleanest ! The landscaping is beautiful, and the grounds are extremely well kept. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
