Boulder City Nonprofits and Charities

Starting in August 2023, I and my family have been trying to get Lend A Hand of Boulder City to respond to repeated requests for assistance.<br><br>We have left several voicemails, filled out the online form twice, sent an email and still have not received a response from this organization.<br><br>My VA social worker had called them and was assured by the director that <br>veterans in my situation would be given assistance. This is the only organization in this area that supposedly does what they claim they do.<br><br>I have yet to hear back from them. It would be nice to at least get a response even if it is a no instead of being “ghosted”.<br><br>It is now January 2024 and I still have not had any response from this organization.<br><br><br><br>

This organization is phenomenal. They not only advocate for seniors but actually give us hope and joy. The compassionate staff go above and beyond to help with any need a senior may have. They have a home safety program building ramps and installing grab bars, fixing plumbing issues and AC problems for seniors, deliver a hot meal daily to local homebound seniors along with a wellness check, serve danish and coffee in the am and a fresh hot lunch during the week on-site, they have a food pantry specifically for seniors, pet food pantry, a cell phone and computer class, and more activities than you can shake a stick at. They try to plan something fun every month and give folks a reason to want to keep going. They do everything to help keep money in my pocket from register me for food stamps, filling out energy assistance forms to pay my power, give me groceries and paper products to help cut back my food expenses, and the list goes on and on. They provide connections-real heart felt, helping hand wonderful connections. Thank you SCBC, you make life worth living!

I lived here Bulverde campus great place I would recommend to many other kids! I moved about three years ago but my sister still resides at the girls home! Staff are amazing they teach us life skills and stuff like that. I personally loved living in the group home. Also they love us. And care for us. A staff member of this organization hasnt been there for me since I was moved to St Judes Ranch after being ripped away from the arms of a mother who loved me, and torn apart from my younger siblings who needed me.the state of Nevada decided my family didn't deserve to be a family for whatever reason. My family was broken apart and scattered and blown away in the wind all in different directions and for me personally, blown into the direction of St Jude's Ranch, where I have been subjected to the care and custody of a 'house parent' who doesn't care if i eat, and won't even take the time to buy the groceries she is required to provide with the money given to the organization to feed me. Its to the point to where I often go to bed hungry. How can this so called 'houseparent' not provide the food paid for by donors and taxpayer dollars? This organization profits over 2 million dollars a year, but ask this organization how it utilizes their two million dollar profit to help the children they claim to care about? What bicycles toys phones computers or games have they bought us with their two million dollar profit? everyday, I see daily, St Judes staff members getting paid take care of children they themselves neglect. We 'clients' have all been taken away from our families because supposedly our families weren't fit to take care of us, and we have been imprisoned in an environment where not only are we neglected, but we are mentally abused, manipulated and not even fed. Our medical needs are neglected and for my opinion, staff members get paid for nothing. There is no accountability for their actions or inactions. We are actually threatened when donors and visitors come by to observe us like animals in cages. We are forced to act happy and pretend were cared about by the staff members fails to protect our interest in th schools we attend in the community, they fail to protect our interest and fail to abide by what is in the best interest of the child which is according to the law of the land, the reason why we were ripped away from our family and real homes through child protection services that don't even protect children from institutions like St Jude's.
