Starting in August 2023, I and my family have been trying to get Lend A Hand of Boulder City to respond to repeated requests for assistance.
We have left several voicemails, filled out the online form twice, sent an email and still have not received a response from this organization.
My VA social worker had called them and was assured by the director that
veterans in my situation would be given assistance. This is the only organization in this area that supposedly does what they claim they do.
I have yet to hear back from them. It would be nice to at least get a response even if it is a no instead of being “ghosted”.
It is now January 2024 and I still have not had any response from this organization.
I love Lend A Hand! For 30 years it has served Boulder City's seniors and disabled so they can remain independent in their homes by providing transportation and in home services at no cost to the clients. As a volunteer driver I see the appreciation of clients, knowing that a caring neighbor will take the time and interest to visit with them and transportation them to medical appointments. Some trips are short, but many are 20 plus miles one way with over an hour wait in between. Many seniors could not afford the cost of paid
transportation, but gladly donate what the can to Lend A Hand.
Services are coordinated by a small office staff and provided by volunteers.
I have served as a volunteer, board member, and donor for 18 years and .
My respect and admiration goes to the ladies who created Lend A Hand 30 years ago. Since then Lend A Hand continues to grow serving our community. We are fortunate to live here.
Lend A Hand of BC is wonderful - I volunteer with them and love it! I have met wonderful people, helping them in various ways. I usually drive them to an appointment, or help with groceries and shopping. I feel great that I am being of some service.

They're wonderful!
They've taken me to doctor's appointments and surgery. They've offered to change the filter in my A/C. They do everything to help people stay independent at home. And the folks in the office are always so sweet and nice.
I have been volunteering at Lend a Hand for over thirty years and I have been thanked over and over for the unique service we provide. Many clients call us a life saver in their efforts at inde-pendent living and a bright light in their ability to leave their home environment to receive medical attention. I, personally, receive compliments for friendliness and a gift for “gab”.

Review from Guidestar
Our mission is … to help improve the quality of life for persons with disabling disorders, the chronically ill, and the frail elderly by assisting them and/or caregivers with services not otherwise available or accessible in Boulder City. This includes transportation and in-home services.
The Lend A Hand services are donation based, no other service like ours is available in Boulder City
