My experience with International Student Exchange (ISE) has been deeply disappointing and, at times, incredibly frustrating. When we decided to open our home to an exchange student, we did so with the expectation that this would be a mutually respectful cultural experience. As host parents, we agreed to provide a safe, stable, and supportive environment, while expecting that the student would respect our household rules, values, and family dynamics. Unfortunately, that was not the reality we encountered. One of the most troubling aspects of this experience was how the authority of host parents was repeatedly undermined by ISE staff, particularly our coordinator, Ana Lise. Decisions that were made in our home for legitimate reasons were questioned and criticized without any effort to fully understand the circumstances or the context behind them. Rather than supporting us as the adults responsible for the student’s well-being, the coordinator often seemed more concerned with appeasing

The Marty Lyons Foundation is a fantastic organization which grants second wishes to terminally ill children. The team and volunteers are amazing individuals. Their wish kids enter and remain as family. The Foundation members have a true passion for what they do and the impact they have on the community is lasting and unmatched.

was a client in said shelter in bay shore ny one of the worst places to live.The case managers are unqualified and have no idea what they are doing. Theres no hope of moving out if you believe it will be from the help of these workers. They run this agency like some sort of secret society, they do not provide contact information to their supervisors or board of directors. No grievance ever leaves the house, its tightly controlled and purposely thrown under the rug. Their system is set up to basically get paid while your staying their and keep you stuck. WORST PLACE TO BE. If you ever end up here, request transfer asap youll have a better chance of getting out of the shelter system in another shelter where the case managers actually know what they are doing and are working towards helping you find housing.

As a full time Mom of an LGBT youth, I want commend the LIGLBT Network for their services and advocacy for my entire family. As a young man 'coming out,' my son received not only support, but was welcomed into the larger LGBT community in which he is now flourishing. I don't know where we would be without them. Thank you.

This is what they call a shelter for low income and homeless people. That may be right. There is a terrible infestation problem with they house. My son was exposed to mold as well as the rest of my children but my youngest have developed Asthma and allergies due to this I have doctor's papers to prove this, there was actually mushrooms growing out the wall it was so bad. Not just that but the roach infestation in the apartment I have never saw any thing so bad in my life. I told them just let me out of my lease whatever I owe to him we can call it even. I will not take him to court for my son's doctor's bills and I will just go in peace. He said okay. when it was time to leave his whole story changed he said I owed money. He said I couldnt leave until. I didnt have heat for almost 2 months, and this is the end of December now. He sent in someone to do a quick job in the bathroom knowing that the mold goes much deeper than the exterior of the paint. The outside property was only cleaned up once while I was there. and I have been here for a little over a year. I told him to just let me go but its always something with them and they property. I have lost so much since I have been here. Including my sanity. The upstairs tenant would send her dogs out to the back of the property which is my entrance to use the bathroom. Where my son plays during the summer and right under kitchen window. Seem like with this property its one thing after another. Recommending them for anything. The only thing I recommend is sending the health department in to see that everything I spoke about is true.

this organization has provided me with comfort, care, and expertise when i needed them the most. i am nothing but thankful for all their hardworking, determined volunteers.

I am a theatre professor with a specialization in plays by women, so I have been interested in Airmid for awhile. The summer before last, I was in New York for a research trip. I took a train to Long Island to see both Airmid's children's play and a fabulous production of Aphra Behn's The Emperor of the Moon. Both productions were staged outdoors in a beautiful park, and both were very good. The company operates on donations, bringing free theatre to its community. I think they also serve an important function by bringing attention to neglected classic works by female authors. I am impressed with what they were able to do on a shoestring budget.

Pronto is a great suporter of or community, Helping people in need, from food pantry, social services, education, clothing and many other services. Most of the staff are vounteers and they are lcated in a very sensible diversiy comunity.
