The foundation has been helping me with travel expenses for 2 years and it been a blessing.I really appreciate the help and support they give cancer patients.Its an amazing foundation that we have here in the Rio grand valley Gob bless them for they do.And may God give them more so they can help more peaple.

My first encounter with Brother Boss and Brother Moises was at the Vespers of Our Lady of Carmel. When he shared his experience with us when how our Blessed Mother Mary was with him during an accident and also of when a family confused him for a priest even when he explained that he wasn't a priest. He carried extra scapulars with him and shared them with the family. You could feel the love he has for Our Lady of Carmel. That emotion touched me as I started crying not out of pity or sorrow but of love I felt for our lady. He also has being an inspiration for many people when he was undergoing a serious medical situation. He looks so much better with his smile that reaches his eyes. You can sense his strength of faith when in conversation with him. May Our Almighty Lord and Our Holy Mother Mary embrace and protect him as he shares his faith with all that he meets.??????????????????

I work at a community bank that believes in giving back year round. With my fellow ladies at work we formed a group that helps various non-profits every month - but I can say without a doubt the work we did for the Aurora House meant the most to me. The Aurora House works to get homeless women off the street, into safe housing, and back on their feet. They come from all walks of life, with kids, addictions, doubts - but and each and everyone of them is cared for when they walk through the Aurora House doors.<br> The Aurora house is located in a beautiful old historic home and with an emphasis on 'old' - that's where I came in. After touring the house I rallied my coworkers to come together and provide some needed updates one of the rooms that could use a little love and inspiration to the woman who dwelled within.<br> Over a single day in March, a group of us completely restored the room, right from the paint on the wall to the pillows on the bed. We wanted to create a positive space where the woman occupying it could feel at home. We donated all of the supplies and were happy to pitch in a hard days work.<br> This was especially meaningful to me because our efforts directly helped a woman who was just like me, but whose path had lead her to rough times. Through the love and support of those gathered to work, we were able to lift her spirit and help her on the path to achieve greater things.<br> The photo attached is her room after we restored it!

While volunteering at the nature center I learned a great deal of information concerning the native animals such as the Indigo snake, Mexican Milksnake and the Texas Tortoise as well as the native plants and the birds and insects they attract. They have a great education program that allows kids of all ages to enjoy the beautiful environment that surrounds us while learning on how to take care of the animals that inhabit those areas. I am no longer scared of snakes because I would have to take care of the snakes they have there by cleaning there tanks and feeding them and make sure they are happy in their setting. I would also help with bird counts, education festivals and presentations at local schools. I have learned so much about my native environment all thanks to the nature center. I am currently still helping them out with field trips and school events. Having fun while learning.
