I have always been skeptical and even hesitant when it comes to non-profit organizations. Mainly because I've associated them with non-profits I've heard about that don't live up to their goals or mission. But, I can sincerely say that FOHI is committed to not only helping families in need, but to making it their business to equip our youths with the skills they need to thrive and succeed in this world!<br><br>FOHI isn't only focused on providing much-needed help in their own backyard; they are committed to helping those who need them most from neighboring countries too! <br>

This organization caught my eye while listening to the radio. It has reached out to homeless men/women/families etc. They give totally free services and when you think of the word free there is no hidden word behind it. The CEO has worked with the drug court and so many other facets physically on hand and that's a good work. Giving you all for a cause is always captivating and rewarding. I personally have donated items and they were used for the purpose in the mission statement on the website provided and they are really awesome. <br> <br>I would recommend them to serve all of South Florida and if anyone need anything, please reach out to them. They are a confidential organization operating with excellent without excuses... wow incredible and a one of a kind organization. They help individuals spiritually, emotionally and physically...

I have seen what great things this group has offered and done for people with spinal cord disabilities. They are a great group of people and I have experienced how much of a big help they have been for a member of my family.

This is our "10 Annual Friends & Family Day Beach, Bash, Baptism" event to help those that are less fortunate enjoy a day of food, fun and fellowship. This year we have added baptism for those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior and want to be baptized.

Your Fundraising Gala event was beautiful. Seeing the children you help was very touching. Keep up the good work!

My name is Dr. Lisa Sirota, and I am a pediatrician in Broward County, Florida. I have been priviledged to care for the children of Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options (JAFCO) since its inception in 1993. As a service organization, JAFCO has grown from a small agency caring for abused and neglected Jewish children in our community, to a major leader in the care of children in South Florida. Currently, JAFCO operates out of a beautiful campus in Sunrise, Florida, which houses a 24-hour crisis shelter open to children in need of all races and religions; 6 group homes which provide safe, consistent, Jewish family-style living in a therapeutic environment, giving siblings the opportunity to stay together; and a wide range of services aimed to support every aspect of the children's lives and families. It is amazing to see children arrive at JAFCO, frightened, alone, often emotionally or physically battered, withdrawn and developmentally delayed from neglect, and watch these same children blossom under the love and care of the dedicated staff. I see first-hand how devoted the staff are to the children of JAFCO, and how life-saving JAFCO is to the hundreds of children in its care. Construction will soon be underway on a new developmental disability center, whose focus will be creating a therapeutic, and respite community for Jewish children with disabilities, particularly autism. It is a blessing and a priviledge to work with this remarkable organization, and I hope news of this great nonprofit reaches people far and wide.

JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options)is a unique organization in South Florida that takes care of abused and neglected Jewish children in a tri-county area. The JAFCO Children's Village is the only village of it's kind throughout the nation. It consists of six group homes and an emergency shelter. To date, Jafco has provided services to over 2,000 children and currently serves over 350 children and their families through their continuum of services including: Family Preservation, Foster Care and Adoption, Emergency Services, Group Homes, Mentoring and Independent Living. Anyone who tours our 6 acre campus is very inspired by the quality of care the children receive. In addition, there is an amazing and dedicated staff. I was a social worker doing volunteer work with a JAFCO child and became increasingly more involved. I was very honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of JAFCO four years ago. It has been such a privilege to be involved with this wonderful organization and to be part of caring for "our" children in their time of need.
