After reading “Marihuana, the Forbidden Medicine” and while studying pharmacology at university in the early 90s, and then passing the book over to a friend, who’s mother had multiple sclerosis and was suffering markedly at the time, without any respite in sight, just a plethora of medication that had bad side effects and made her feel even worse at times… She started to imbibe small doses of marijuana, and the doctors were amazed at how her symptoms of MS suddenly dissipated to the point her life actually became enjoyable again. Seeing how this illicit substance actually was more effective at treating MS than any legal medication available, the dichotomy of Western society’s prohibitive law’s on illicit substances came under scrutiny in our minds. As the internet was just starting out around this time, I did a web search and found MAPS. MAPS is an American nonprofit organisation working to raise awareness about the beneficial aspects of psychedelic substances… And after speaking with them briefly, they seemed like they not only really cared about the wellbeing of people in general, but they also actually cared enough to challenge the dogmatic views about the place certain entheogens should hold in the healing of humans and how we relate to the earth. The courage of these gals and guys is unlike any I have seen in the research world. They have worked with other charities and inspired people to seek new ways of healing, not only for conditions such as PTSD but also addiction, and depression too. They continue to work tirelesdly with respected government and academic organisations the world over to bring about more effective treatments for debilitating conditions… I honestly believe that these gals and guys will one day help heal the world in more profound ways than all the drug companies put together with all their years of research. But, before that happens, we need people to help support them work through the hurdles they are facing in a world still dominated by dogmatics views about psychedelics in general and the revelatory treatments that could be derived from these substances so we can essentially free people from debilitating conditions i.e. multiple sclerosis, PTSD, addiction, depression, etc. without a never-ending prescription of medication… So come on… Let’s give MAPS some big love and much needed support.

To say that The Connection Practice changed my life would be a true understatement. I was first introduced to the organization when I was hired as the Marketing Director with no prior knowledge of the practice. Rita Marie Johnson, the founder who I also consider my spiritual mother, encouraged me to take the course so I could better understand the work. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would impact my own life. Through learning and practicing the Connection Practice, I began experiencing a level of insight and emotional awareness I had never had before. The tools helped me regulate my emotions, reduce anxiety, and approach life with more clarity rather than confusion. As an artist, clarity of vision is everything. The Connection Practice gave me tools to better understand myself and move forward with intention, helping me create the life I envisioned as an artist in New York City while building my business and connecting with a community that aligns with my values.

This group literally saved me when I was a new mom and new to the area. We moved to California when I was 36 weeks pregnant with my first, leaving behind my whole family, friends, our first home, my dream job, etc. Everything in our lives changed. Three weeks after moving my son arrived. The sleep deprivation was so bad, the nursing journey was hard and unfortunately I ended up having PPDA. It was scary and felt lonely but this group saved me. I made mom friends thanks to this group and I will never forgot the day Cheryl dropped everything to come to my home on a day I felt at my limit and my worst. She fed me and talked me through my emotions and helped me understand why it was happening. The leaders of this group are amazing. I continued going to the group through having my second child and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I’m in a much better place now but I honestly don’t know where I’d be if it weren’t for Supporting Mamas being there when I started my motherhood journey.

Next Door Solutions is an incredible organization providing critical services to families in crisis. Next Door getting these people into safe and stable situations is lifechanging. Having worked with Next Door for the past two years, I can personally attest to the expert leadership of their executive team, and to the level of care and commitment that the staff provides to their clients. It is amazing what this team is able to accomplish on such a tight annual budget. The ultimate proof is in the countless success stories told by the women and children who have been helped by Next Door.

Factr is reviving the soul of immigrants and refugees. Such a noble contribution to society!<br>I volunteer as a General Operations Manager and work closely with Karita to keep the daily operation around several projects smooth by collaborating with other volunteers. I think this is the most diverse team I have ever worked with where there is a sense of commitment and togetherness. Of course Karita plays a vital role to ensure we are all respected and valued while working for factr. i am truly enjoying the domain and its new learning.<br>

On Oct. 22nd, I visited the VCA facility in Jose and the ladies that work at this facility took the time to talk to me about what they do as individuals and as team. From what I gathered, they go above and beyond to bring missing children back home throughout the United States; that to me is a passion to do some good for the world. The shifts members were really friendly and excited about what they do. We need more people like you who want to make a difference in this world. I personally command you on what you do and continue to do for the community. There it is a GOLD STAR for every child you find after being separated from their loved-ones. I don't know each of you by name yet, but I hope to continue this relationship by volunteering in areas you may need help and get to know you. I do call upon our community to help in any way they can as the communities around you need your help. Make a difference in someone life, make a connection with someone you don't know, and be a hero for someone special. I am just grateful that I had the opportunity to visit and understand the extends of VCA work. Thanks to each of you for your hard work and making me feel comfortable during my visit. You guys are a great team and keep up the awesome work. There's a lot need to be done, so this is your chance to do the world some good. I have been volunteering and Donor at the food distribution for about a year through to 2 different church as well as library near my house. It’s a an amazing experience, seeing everyone happy and helping the poor make their day. Also the Volunteering team is amazing and supper helpful to the people who are unable to carry, they will go and help drop the food to their car.<br><br>

I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart, the BACA program and everyone working there. I have a troubled teen that was very unhappy and withdrawn. I just a week or two, I started seeing a smile on his face and he showed a more positive outlook on life. Everyone at BACA, from the front staff to counselors, to the doctors are there to help your child. <br>I have received valuable information, and support on how to deal with my son. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with a troubled child.

Supposed to save money and get barista training and get into choir for those fundraisers . Must be open to deep prayer. I have worked for few non-profits over the course of my career, and I would say the past three years at FCS have demonstrated to me the amazing commitment of the more than 125 staff to our clients and their families. As a donor and advocate of my friends and relationships to support the work of the agency, I find that FCS inspires me each day with it's fiscal prudence; its determination to meet community needs that are ever evolving; and it's commitment to removing the stigma from behavioral health care to help people live productive, healthier lives.

Advent's primary clientele are drug and alcohol addicted teenagers, one of the most challenging groups to provide meaningful assistance. Santa Clara County estimates there are over 10,000 teenagers in need of drug and alcohol treatment. Most come from family backgrounds that don't provide meaningful support. Advent provides effective residential and outpatient treatment programs to this difficult to serve population.

NOMV is an excellent organization, with a life-saving mission. They strive to facilitate an inclusive environment, and my experiences as a volunteer have been nothing short of incredible. They do a fantastic job being respectful and appreciative of their volunteers' time and are very personable in their interactions with volunteers and customers alike. Whether you're looking to volunteer or seeking suicide prevention resources for your veterinarian self or your practice, I recommend NOMV 100%!

As a surviver of a Tramatic Brain Injury, with a resulting with a "Glowscow Comma Scale" score of 4 (kind of severe), Kaiser's head trauma unit tought me how to chew my own food, how to talk (monosyllabically though it may have been at the time), and how to walk using parrelel bars. <br> <br>From there (after going through Ca. Dept of Rehab.) I entered SBI, where they (thoses presently unknown to me (and I was quite interverted, afraid, and WANTING to "get well" but was timid on how to go about it). Those presently unknown enities quickly displayed hunane friendlyness, compassion, and empathy. <br> <br>They helped me get to the point of (with a formal education of the 7th grade - but I read a lot) and being "Brain Damaged", to entering City College, socializing, and keeping relatively good grades. <br> <br>Kuddos to SBI <br>Stan N.

Beware of this NAMI outfit they are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies like but not limited to Pfizer Inc, Eli Lilly & Co., AstraZeneca, Forest Laboratories, Inc., etc. Investigated by various Local & Federal authorities. NAMI still has more than enough money to buy protection & influenced in its teaching programs and advocacy of drugging victim/ patients that makes them appear mentally ill with it's backing pharmaceutical industry's dangerous drugs . Ask your local state NAMI affiliates what percentage of their income is received from drug provider companies, they will not be happy when you ask. NAMI only wants funds, they refuse people who really need them & only want money & volunteers. <br> NAMI is involved with hospitals who kidnap children and adults. NAMI is on the side of those who profit from medical kidnapping dishonest hospitals, dishonest doctors, pharmaceutical companies, others who find victims not limited to local police & social workers, patient advocates who profit from finding new victims from hospitals. How this crime is operating is insurance fraud if someone has no medical insurance they are fit and released in must cases before 48 hours, If someone has medical insurance the victim patient will be help as long as funds are going to hospital & system this could be two weeks or months or even years depending when funds get cut off. <br> The drugs are used by the doctors & hospitals to make patients appear mentally ill when they are not. This fraud insurance money pays the doctors, funds hospitals, groups like NAMI are part of it, police use medical kidnapping in various ways, one is to steal valuables from victims when they have been medically kidnapped and are locked up when victim gets out police claim they have no idea what happened to money or other valuables and get away with it scot-free. So in closing NAMI is part of a crooked crimnal dishonest system. I do not recommend NAMI or any group, company or person involved with them.

I work as a project manager in connection with the efforts that Hospice of the Valley conduct in reaching out to their current and prospective donors through direct mail outreach. The staff at Hospice of the Valley are not only knowledgeable in their efforts to retain their donors, but highly professional in their attempts to gain new donors, while keeping all of us updated with their messaging and mission. I have witnessed their growth over the past several years, and fully expect that growth to continue in years to come. I also have a personal connection with hospice, seeing that both my mother and brother ended their life, as we know it, under the care of hospice. I Have been involved in this non-profit for over 30 years. Initially as a volunteer, then as staff ( Executive Director) and now in my retirement, again as a volunteer. This non profit provides low cost counseling services to individuals, families and local schools giving people the opportunity for people to receive counseling when they couldn't otherwise afford it. The agency also affords mental health counselors the opportunity to receive the 3,000 hours needed for licensure. The location makes the agency easily accessible
