Circulo de Vida and Carmen Ortiz are nothing short of amazing. Carmen's clarity about the needs of Latinas and their families following a cancer diagnosis never waivers no matter the obstacles, which are many. Carmen has been relentless (in a good way) about finding funding sources to keep the doors of this Center open, and expanding programming whenever possible. We all need to support this important work to offer culturally relevant services following such a devastating diagnosis. Carmen and the Circulo de Vida team are a tremendous community asset, and they rock! I have been in awe for years of this organization and its leader.

Conard House is a SCAM. ANNE IOBST alienate and ABUSES her as a HOUSE MANAGER. DR WENDY has known about ANNE IOBST MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. ANNE IOBST Threatens residents health due to her short term memory problems. She treats people like her little dolls to dress up and direct in a DANCE SHOW. FORCED GROUP THERAPY GROUPS and THREATENS Residents when they dont want to learn her DANCE exercises. She behaves like a KAREN. SHE RUNS THE WASHBURN LIKE A TYRANT. Every resident and staff MEMBER HATES her. SHE steals food runner deliveries to food to BRING 1385 mission. DR WENDY lies ABOUT ANNE. ANNE has ridiculed me in private over GENERAL ASSITANCE errors that affected my rent. SHE IS A HOSTILE CHILD. ANNE has been sent on multiple sabbaticals over the last 4-5 years for up to 6 months . SHE IS UNFIT TO WORK WITH ANYONE IN THE HEALTH INDUSTRY. ANNE IOBST WILL KILL SOMEONE WILL HER AGGRESIVE BEHAVIOR

I had graduated from Ohlhoff Women's Residential in San Francisco. It was a 6 month for profit treatment center. I had relapsed after treatment and living in a seedy hotel in San Francisco. I was homeless, scared, broke, exhausted, angry and hopeless. San Francisco can be scary place for a single young woman on her own.<br>Good Shepherd Gracenter was recommended to me by a dear friend in AA from my previous hometown. It was clear that I need more support and time to address my drug abuse, medical issues, psychological, social, vocational and legal problems. It was at Gracenter where I met the Sister Marguerite, Executive Director and Sandra Munoz, Program Director. I learned that kindness, love, knowledge and generosity was given to me without a price tag. It was honestly foreign to me. Gracenter simply wanted me to get healthy and back on my feet to go out in the world and be a clean and sober, self sufficient woman.<br>Sister Marguerite, Sandra Munoz and all the staff helped me help myself. I learned to do to the footwork for permanent housing. I got a sponsor in AA. I returned to the job where I am happiest. I got my back taxes filed. I cleared up my legal issues. I started a savings account. <br>To this very day, I am in touch with Sandra. The clients there at my time of stay are my closet friends. <br>Gracenter is here for all the right reasons. It is a hidden secret located in the San Francisco City limits. <br>After my 90 day stay, I was accepted into permanent housing in San Francisco that was recommended my Sandra Munoz at the beginning of my stay at Gracenter. I've never been this sober, happy and grateful.<br>

I completed a three month internship with the Mental Health Association of San Francisco and I am incredibly pleased with my internship experience. My internship provided me the opportunity to learn a wealth of information in regards to the mental health system. I had the chance to bridge my psychology background to a working environment to enact change. One of the things I enjoyed the most about my internship experience was that I felt I made a contribution to the organization. As the event planning intern, most of my responsibilities centered on the 2008 Hoarding and Cluttering Conference. The responsibilities I was given were not vacuous assignments as I had the chance to make an impact from the beginning. The aspect of my internship that really helped shape my experience was the great staff. They were incredibly receptive to any questions and concerns I raised and gave me the opportunity to voice my opinion. I couldn&rsquo;t have asked for more welcoming and passionate co-workers and fellow interns. The smaller working environment provided a great opportunity to learn from one another, collaborate and share in our experiences. I was extremely impressed with the organization as it works with consumers as well as mental health agencies. To be part of a dedicated organization striving to improve the lives of the residents of San Francisco through its advocacy and policy work in addition to the educational programs has been wonderful.

HCN has become unorganized and has lost professionalism since 2020. They do not know what salary they want to offer employees, they do not communicate with employees and potential employees about goals and objectives, they do not have good time management or communications anymore. Development and Comms seems unorganized and lacks open communication with staff.

I was a volunteer crisis counselor for several years at San Francisco Suicide Prevention. They are the oldest crisis hotline in the U.S. <br> <br>They train their volunteers extremely well in order for them to be helpful to callers. As a counselor, you can't really ask for a role that gives you more direct impact on helping people improve their lives. They really respect all their clients and convey that mindset to their volunteers. They are also doing extremely important work - filling key gaps where the U.S. mental health system is falling down on the job. They also provide a great training ground for many MFTs. <br> <br>I've also found they are extremely frugal with their money - not spending where they don't need to. So, a very large portion of the money going into SFSP is funneled directly into program activities.

I was an employee.....I <br>enjoyed helping the community for many years and would probably have stayed there for the rest of my career. Unfortunately the upper management hired a manager who was basically incompetent and unable to get very much done but was an expert at covering her mistakes.

I was placed in Walden House by the Veterans Administration because they had no other housing available earlier this year. My personal belongings were delivered there by Hope House VA where I previously resided for storage during my stay. When I was discharged and went to collect my belongings after securing a storage locker, my brand new $1400.00 guitar and brand new flat-screen TV were missing/stolen. I am now pursuing recovery of my belongings by first, as required by law, seeking a meeting with the principals of Walden House to ask for my property to either be returned or to receive equal compensation for my missing/stolen property. My alternative to satisfactory resolution of this meeting is to take appropriate legal action which I intend to do if necessary. It is a travesty that an organization like yours employs predators who prey on clients who already have nothing!!

This was my first time at this conference and it was wonderful. So much good information and training about a population that is often sensationalized by the media and then quickly swept under the carpet by the general public. I really enjoyed the speakers and was pleased by the amount of teaching and research that is available in this area. I look forward to attending again next year!

I received amazing case management from the Treasure Island Office. My assigned case manager was there to support me while I faced domestic violence, life threatening emergency surgery AND A LENGTHY RECOERY PROCESS. CPS TRIED TO REMOVE MY CHILD DUE TO TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS RECEIVED. CASE MANAGER WAS THERE. PROPERTY MANAGER TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY DIBILATATED CONDTION AND ALLOWED MY UNIT TO REMAIN UNINHABITABALE FOR 10 MONTHS. CASE MANAGER ADVOCATED WITH NO SUCCESS. SO I SUED AND THAT IS WHEN I SAW WHAT THIS NON PROFIT REALLY WAS. AFTER SUBPOENA PROVIDED TO CASE MANAGER. THE AGENCY CALLED ME THEDAY BEFORE COURT TO INFOMR ME THAT MY CASE MANAGER COULD NOT COMPLY WITH A SUBPOENA NOR COULD SHE TESTIFY TO ANYTHING PERTAINING TO HER KNOWLEDGE OF MY SITUATION WHILE I WAS CLIENT. A COUPLE DAYS LATER REMOVED MY CASE MANAGER. I NOW RECEIVE NO SUPPPORT. AT A DESPERATE TIME. I HAVE AN UPCOMING HOSPITAL ADMISSION AND I REQUESTED SUPPORT TO AFEGGURAD MY FAMILY WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL. NO RESPONSE. I GO TO THE HOSPITAL IN LESS THEN 2 DAYS. THE UPERVISOR AT THAT SITE SAID SHE COULD HELP UNTIL SHE DECODES TO ASSIGN A CASE MANAGER. AND IN ALL REALITY I CAN VERY WELL BE DEAD. I HAVE A 36% SURVIVAL RATE APPROACHING AND IT IS NOW THAT THE ONE PERSON WHO HAS SUPPORTED ME AND I GREW TO TRUST. CATHOLIC CHARITIES REMOVES BECAUSE SHE TRIED TO ADVOCATE FOR ME. NEXT TIME I AM SUPPOSED TO KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT AND MAYBESOMEON WILL HELP ME. OR MAYBE IT WIL BE TO LATE

San Francisco SafeHouse is a healing community that works with some of the most invisible and forgotten people of our city: women of all ages who are homeless victims of sexual exploitation, prostitution and human trafficking. At SafeHouse, we make women stronger and more independent and work with them, one on one, to help them plan for their futures and then execute those plans. We began reaching out to the women of the streets in 1998, long before "trafficking" was a commonly recognized issue.<br>I worked at SafeHouse for 5 years and am now continuing my connection by serving on the Board. I especially appreciate that such a small program can offer such personalized care and make such a big impact on individual lives. My own contribution to SafeHouse is overshadowed by what was given back: a chance to meet and work with an incredible group of very brave, very determined and unique women, each taking change one step at a time. <br>

Alcoholics Anonymous meeting serve this Central Office and its groups take direction from its manager. Between Rent and management of this office 3/4 of the income generated is used. The remaining funds pay for travel and utilities less then $1000.00 goes to support its committees of volunteers who carry the AA message to suffering alcoholics.

I've been with this organization for almost 6 years and it's so rewarding to watch clients become self-sufficient and lend their hand out to help another. We do believe in second chances. One hand helping another!!

HOMEY is an amazing non-profit that has supported at-risk, opportunity youth since 1999. It has impacted over 300 lives since 2010 and continues to provide direct services to young people in San Francisco.

Unethical fundraising, discrimination based on sexual orientation (against heterosexuals), charging a fee to enter AA meetings and physically preventing people from entering who haven't paid, bullying and shaming online. Stay Away. . .or just Drink.

The HRTC is a revolutionary practice in the field of mental health in that it builds on a person's strengths and respects their interests and intensities of focus and change. Most amazingly of all, the HRTC addresses the wide range of possible options for improvement and, unlike traditional mental health (or even places calling themselves harm reductionists), the HRTC truly practices harm reduction. Best way to put it: If me or my loved one needed help with drug issues this is the first place I would eagerly take them!
