Mission: The mission of graham county interfaith care alliance is to meet the hunger needs of our community by aquiring, growing, and distributing food and to provide education on nutrition and sustainable gardening.
Programs: Our neighbors farm is a community farm. Its fresh, local vegetables are distributed through our food bank and other local non-profits. We also provide gardening education for elementary students and other community groups.
our neighbors pantry currently distributes food to over 1900 persons in need. The pantry also delivers vegetables grown to local non-profits serving elderly and at-risk populations. Additional distributions go to other food banks.
in late 2017 our neighbors farm & pantry received an in-kind donation of about 3. 5 acres with two buildings. This property is now known as roadrunner bunkhouse and cactus house (cactus). Cactus is being developed by our neighbors farm & pantry as housing for americorps teams, interns, and employees. As of july 2018 the property is still being remodeled using a grant obtained through a consortium including our neighbors farm & pantry and three other local nonprofits. From april through june 2018 cactus house housed an americorps team who benefited the mission of our neighbors farm & pantry as well as the missions of three other local nonprofits. Our neighbors farm & pantry intends to make all or part of cactus living space available for rent to other area nonprofits. Rent will be charged either at cost or at fair market price, depending upon agreements with partner organizations; this rental charge is expected to change from time to time.
