This is what I encountered when volunteering for Voices Against Violence Plymouth NH (2024).
The current Executive Director talking about having an intimate encounter at the AirBnB that the outreach coordinator ran with a random man, in fact the ED said she "rode him good". I did not ask her about this, she just talked about it in the office, after asking us to guess what she did that past weekend?
I experienced the current Executive Director asking me if I wanted to "fu*k her"? when she was drunk at a after hours volunteer and employee gathering. I declined and left and never went to another after hours volunteer gathering again. I wasn't the only volunteer to made to feel uncomfortable by the level of drinking and behavior during intoxication, two other volunteers stated that they wouldn't ever return to a gathering like that again.
I heard directly after being asked what the good news the ED had about her life? That she was no longer pregnant and about the E.D's miscarriage from a police officer she had been dating this is while at Voices Against Violence office, during business hours. I didn't want to hear about a miscarriage; professional boundaries do not exist with the Executive Director. I have professional boundaries and do not talk about my personal intimate life, solicit staff or talk about what happens between my legs or in my bedroom at work, a place that serves victims of s.xual as.ault the executive director should consider what topics are appropriate at their place of business. She was often filthy and disgusting, and made s.x.al innuendo jokes. I did not want to hear her stories but there weren't any warnings about what would come out during conversation, whether it would be instructional or if it would be of a too personal nature for business.
From other volunteers there are stories about the demands of the Executive Director on other volunteers time, and demeaning attitude. Often noticed for looking people up and down like she was assessing their bodies which made other volunteers feel uncomfortable.
I made another review but unfortunately that went to the SMOC location in Massachusetts and not the Plymouth NH location which this is meant to address.
Volunteers and interns are encouraged to act like everything happening is normal, when the experiences at this business is far beyond normal.
At this time they are soliciting a business that is run by a pedophile for their sock hop ball. They have awarded the Beverly Seavy award to community members who have stolen from their businesses, been investigated for embezzlement, and been fired from their positions for violating HIPPA.
