I had a very pleasant and polite experience with Starting Over Animal Refuge. I adopted a 4 month old Shepherd mix. They answered all my text and phone calls right away and made the process very easy and accommodating. I felt bad for the animals there, so many dogs and cats in the cages. But realize they are doing everything to save as many animals that have been neglected or abused. I wish they could get more donations and volunteers to help with the overload. They are sincerely concerned about the animals welfare. Shelby, is living her best life. We love our little girl thank you Starting Over Animal Refuge.

Here at Safe Passage, we assist survivors of domestic violence in gaining back control of their lives and increasing their safety. Some survivors do not have access to a phone or a phone that is not in the control of their abuser. The phones we get for the survivors help with safety and rebuilding their lives. They have direct contact with prospective landlords and employers. Most importantly they have a means to increase their safety, with a phone without harassment and treats from their abusers. Before working with 911 CELL Phone Bank, we had very little resources to provide these phones to survivors. This program has increased the safety of several survivors and may even have saved lives. This is an amazing program. They provide a variety of services to the public and use the funds paid for those services to support nonprofits that apply to the program and help nonprofits fundraise, they have an amazing credit repair specialist that will repair your credit for one $900 payment or break that down into payments but either way you see a real difference in 6 months. They are way better than Lexington, and a lot cheaper one payment vs unlimited months of 100-200 with Lexington to hardly see a difference at all. Beyond fundraising and credit repair they do websites and all other administrative work. They not only support nonprofits but are aiming to build a ranch for kids one day. So, any services you pay for you can be reassured the payment is going to a really good cause and the services are top notch. they also provide customizable items for business or personal, or fundraising. I met Melissa years ago when she worked with the local animal shelter in our area. she cared so much for each individual animal and took such great care of the kittens there. I have nothing but the up most respect for her and her nonprofit organization. she truly is a gift to the community with all her hard work❤️

Had a pleasure attending the Easter event in the park.

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in both a gator hunting adventure and a white-tail bow hunting experience organized by Matt and his team. The network of volunteers and partners that Matt has assembled truly enhances the overall experience for veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. <br> <br>Participating in two retreats provided me with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the dedication of the volunteers who make it all possible. Matt's commitment to providing these experiences is commendable, and I can't thank him and his team enough for their efforts. If you're looking for a memorable and meaningful outdoor adventure, I highly recommend connecting with this organization.

What a rollercoaster ride it has been over the last several weeks due to Hurrican Ian and all we have endured. Our children were scared, upset and crying all the time. That all changed when they received a visit from Santa with so many presents for each of them. What am amazing man. He calmed their fears, assured them that everything would be alright, and helped to replace much of what they lost. He did what neither my husband nor I could do to help them. Who knew that Santa Claus could have that much of an impact on a child's life? God bless everyone associated with the Believe in Santa Foundation.

The Lost & Found club is my local Recovery club here in Ocala, Florida. I came to Ocala from New Mexico in 2017 for treatment in a rehabilitation facility, Mending Fences. In New Mexico, I was homeless and suffering from more than one self-defeating behavior including addiction, and then I got pregnant. <br>8 months pregnant, I was found and busted by a police officer, Ryan Holets who ten minutes into questioning me offered to adopt my unborn child. This was after I explained that I was looking for someone to adopt the baby. That was just the beginning.<br>I had the baby 3 weeks later and the adoption went smoothly. Our story reached the newsrooms of CNN and quickly became my 15 minutes of shameful fame and also saved my life. After CNN interviewed Ryan, his wife Rebecca, and myself our media presence helped pave the way for my recovery. I was offered a scholarship to treatment while Ryan and Rebecca were honored at the White House. <br>Long story short my recovery was only made possible by my creator and a handful of people and their service. Now that I am in recovery, I work in recovery and am on the Board of The Lost & Found club because in my heart of hearts I believe this is a worthy cause to serve my community here in Ocala Florida, and give back what has been given to me, my freedom. <br>If you know of anyone suffering from the disease of addiction or any other self-defeating behavior, it's places like the Lost & Found non-profit that keep the doors open for the next sick and suffering human to find safety, hope, and a home filled with like-minded individuals. <br>I am just 1 of multitudes of stories, and my continued success is largely in part because of a solution found at my local non-profit recovery club and my continued belief in doing my part for the sake of service to others.

W.A.G.S. is the real deal! When I found 4 black kittens in my yard last spring, they really helped me with their care. They provided advice, food, and medical care at great expense. They also promoted my fosters online and vetted every applicant. They take animal welfare very seriously! I am grateful for their help and I can't wait to see this nonprofit grow.

The MCSOF is an incredible organization with a very worthwhile mission. Not only do they help to recruit, train, and educate over 750 volunteers with a variety of functions, but they also save the taxpayers an incredible amount of funds. <br> <br>In offering Citizens Academy Classes, they also build a bridge between interested citizens and our sheriff’s department and deputies. Learning and developing an understanding of the many facets of law enforcement fosters a sense of unity and community, rather than a strained relationship based on shallow understanding. The citizens of Marion County are lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to provide support and give back to those whose life revolves around serving and protecting.

I met Captain Matthew Schwanke, a veteran, when he took me out for some fishing on the Gulf of Mexico. He started his organization to mitigate the amount of veteran suicides per day. This faith based organization is not just about the fishing, its about creating new memories and a support network for veterans, so they come know that there are folks out there who want to help them. Since my experiences with Matt, I have recently joined his BoD to support this cause. As a combat wounded veteran, it is my honor to help Matt in his mission to lower the amount of veteran suicides per day. We moved to Ocala 2 years ago. We are so grateful to have met Maria from Champaians for Champions. She was so welcoming, very sincere in wanting our son to be a part of their group. We are still with the group, Shawn loves it, I love it as well. This group gives back to the community everyday without ever asking for anything in return except to help the community. Champions is about helping our children fit in and to belong to something very special. Also to give them them the ability to have a lire that typical people have. The volunteers work very hard together to be able to provide the best for the children/adults along side Maria Roman. I feel she is well deserved of this nomination!!!

An organization full of caring people who have gathered around a worthy mission: to preserve and promote Ocala's beautiful historic districts.

This local charity group held many events to raise money for another local charity that supplies goods to teens in need. They were a wonderful group to get to know, and their hearts are bigger than the check they were eale to donate to another local charity. they truly are amazing individuals.

I have volunteered with Amazing feeding the homeless in Ocala,Marion County.

The Lukey Foundation contributes its monies to those suffering with blood disorders, like Cooley’s Anemia, Sickle Cell Anemia and various patients undergoing blood transfusions at Children’s Hospitals.

We adopted a cat through the senior to senior program and then found out he had asthma and needed treatment. The shelter has paid for his medical expenses and has been more than helpful in finding care for him when he needed it. We love the cat and we love Sheltering Hands.

A very worthwhile charity to volunteer at and donate to.

I have been a part of VOCAL from the beginning when they just started doing their fundraising. Their concept was so new and refreshing from other rescues I had to be a part of it. All of the people are kind and friendly and I really enjoy being hands on with the animals. <br> It’s exciting to see how just a little of your time can positively impact an animal’s life. They don’t just house the dogs they give them a quality of life through their Shelter Buddy Program and Saturday Night Group Walks the dogs are consistently socialized and played with. These programs keep the dogs happy, hopeful and looking forward to visitors. Moreover, it helps keep the dogs trained for when prospective families come to see them.<br><br>Additionally, their low-or no-cost spaying & neutering, trap/neuter & return programs are a priceless service to the community. The numbers of unwanted animals that are saved due to these services are astronomical. And they will soon offer these services in their beautiful new clinic. I cannot wait to volunteer in the new clinic once it opens. They have worked so hard to achieve their private clinic. What a miracle that will be for the animals.<br><br>VOCAL has also rescued many human and pet lives with their Chewy assisted food bank. When humans feel the stress of not having the funds to feed their animals those pets usually end up abandoned on the streets. Since VOCAL has partnered with Chewy to create the food bank thousands of animals are being fed in private homes and rescues. I’ve seen the appreciation in the family’s eyes when they are given that bag of food and they know they can keep their fur-babies and feed them. That is love and VOCAL gives them that security. <br>The impact VOCAL has made on our community for a small donation only rescue that just started out is amazing! I cannot wait to see what they do in the future and to be a part of it!<br>The little white kitten pictured is my first rescue with VOCAL and he is thriving. <br>

This organization has a community program called “Healthy Home” which helps seniors discharged from the hospital, without little or no support at home, continue to heal at home, safely. Through inspection we reduce readmission to the hospital thru guidance, training and even safety modifications to the home at no expense to the patient whatsoever. Won a significant award for this program in 2018 from the American Hospital Association. Correct name of the organization is “Munroe Auxiliary, inc.”

100% of everything donated goes directly to putting on free events for special needs children and their families.

U.N.I.T.Y Group Services Inc. is a great organization. The good samaritan is great, he ensures that everyone is courteous. We were provided with food, clothing and free job training, that helped me to support my family.
