As an employee at Sound Community Services, Inc. I can confidently say that I have never worked in a place that is so for its community. I see the efforts that Sound Community Services has put into ensuring that each and every one of our clients served feel secure, confident, and save. During this time of need, my fellow co-workers at Oasis have taken the initiative to prepare meals to go for any and all clients we serve. This showed our clients that they can count on Sound Community to meet their needs during moments when the world feels overwhelming. We also get to celebrate the holidays with our clients to make them feel included and special as many may not have the opportunity to spend these with loved ones. Sound Community truly stand on their core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (or CARE for short). It teaches all of us, clients and staff alike, to treat each other with respect and compassion at all times.

Hope was always very considerate and caring. The program has helped me and my family in lots of ways. Their hard work should be recognized! I enjoyed every step through the process. Thank you Hope!!

A Joyful & purposeful experience for everyone involved.

I was a student volunteer at IASC from January 2018 until May 2019, and it was one of the best volunteer experiences I've had. I feel Mike, Joe, Kathy, and Angela were all invested in the volunteers, and constantly guided us on not only work related to IASC, but also questions we have in college, law school, or work. <br><br>I worked on client matters, drafted research memos and grant applications, did client intake, organized local walk-in events, and learned file management. The legal work is personal and fulfilling, and it shaped my understanding of what the practice of law can look like. Even if I later went on to practice in a different field of law, I still remembered the care devoted to each client at IASC, and tried to emulate that in whichever way I can for my pro bono clients. <br><br>

1. A Hygienic board member had a blog on the Hygienic website for 3 months ( 3/20/09), in which he discus's "Jew artists". This was defended by other board members as "freedom of speech"!<br><br>2. That there was a case of sexual harassment filed against the president & treasurer of Hygienic Art Inc. (CHRO Case# 0740337).<br>( This suit cost Hyg. Art. Inc. over $20,000 in atty fees & settlement ) See 2007 tax records.<br><br>3. Multiple Dept. of Labor Law violations. (6) involving the same parties. monies paid = $3700.<br><br>4. A art piece that satirized the sexual harassment , was documented and witnessed as entered into the infamous "uncensored" annual hygienic (29th.) show. mysteriously disappeared when the gallery was closed for "cleaning"!<br><br>5. There is a public You-Tube video entitled "HYPOCRISY at the HYGIENIC Revealed. a performance piece " that documents myself being questioned by the wife of Hygienic's president asking " Are you Jewish?. - which implies that only a member of a certain class or group of people can advocate for their own, and not others.<br><br>6. As both ex-vice-president and original incorporating officer, I can personally attest to the above, (also utilizing F.O.I.) and also being threatened with arrest TWICE by the Hygienic president, once at a board meeting because I notified some of hygienic arts financial supporters of hygienics board anti-Semitic apathy .<br>When I went to their board meeting, I was threatened with arrest by Hygienic's president, because I sent a " f*^king letter and I signed it! - yet another board member defended said blog as "freedom of speech".<br>Now isn't this ironic, for not only was I was once an officer and leading force in Hygienics incorporation, but they decided that one of their fellow board members anti-Semitic rants was easier to defend then taking action and doing the right thing.<br>7. The board member the issued the anti-Semitic blog was also paid to create a mural on the side of the Hygienic building in clear violation of 501-C3 state statues<br>8. I was also banned from engaging on their website for speaking out on Hygienic's hypocrisy, though the anti-Semitic blog was allowed to remain for 3 months.<br>9. To rid themselves of any contention, they solved their problems by eviscerating the blog feature in it's entirety. Thus hugely diminishing community involvement and discourse. <br>It's also ironic because Hygienic Art grew to fame due of it's annual "uncensored" art show. (Please let it be noted that Hygienic Art was started by a Jewish artist! )<br>10. The Hygienic gallery managers have changed faster then leaves on a tree, yet in order to be hired they must sign a NDA - Non-Disclosure Agreement form that prevents them from speaking out against their former employer. This actually enables previously mentioned parties to continue harass employees and artists in residence.<br>11. In the article published 2/16/21 in the local newspaper entitled" Hygienic Art trying to evict resident artist at the center of online dispute " details a atmosphere of harassment and racism. If one reads the CHRO files mentioned above, there is clearly a pattern established here by Hygienic's power structure. <br>12. Nepotism: The Hygienic website is not transparent when it comes to disclosing it's board members and officers. The Hygienic's president's step-daughter is a board member. His wife is also heavily involved in day to day operations.<br>13: My original posting on this site remained in place for over 10 years until recently. The other review on this site is posted by a current Hygienic employee. Another example of censorship by a once wonderful art organization that has a ongoing history of censorship, corruption, nepotism and sexual harassment.

My roommate introduced me to work and learn 2018 Back then we met in a room at a church. With Covid and play it is being done differently now is online. I had a pleasure of Pastor Al, Dan and Polly His wife, Robert, and Hanns all came together and shown Me the process of work and learn And the greatness of God. They had pastors, mentors and a lot of other great people come together two teach us Valuable lessons each week that lined up with the work and learn workbook Weekly lessons. Back then I was struggling and they Continuously showered me with their love and the love of God. I did not look forward too much but I will forward to Tuesday’s work and learn classes . To me that was the best part of my week. I graduated from the class and I had never gotten so proud. Recently I met up with my friend who brought up the work and learn program and I got excited to know that they are still doing it online. I am doing better now I would like to reconnect and take the course again. There is so much to learn from the workbook and the people that come together to make work and learn happen . I look forward to taking a course again. I highy recommend everybody does take the course Regardless where are you might be in your life right now the corse will put you on the right path to help you put your life back together. The Coast Guard Academy produces generations of maritime leaders for America, and the alumni association continuously improves the facilities and programs for cadets. They maintain traditions, support athletes, and keep alumni connected to this unique institution. The staff and volunteers are very dedicated, and terrific to work with.

Grampy's Charities is a regional pediatric health foundation focusing on providing un-restricted operating support to child health related charities with a mission of direct service to families and their children. <br>They have a flexible, hands-on Board of Directors and they are able to give support quickly in areas that is most needed. <br>Grampy's Charity volunteers work hard to raise the profile of recipient organizations and seek creative ways to raise and distribute more revenue.

Well rounded educational and mentoring organization. Teaches teamwork, math skills, sailing, navigation, boat repair to endangered youth.

The New London Public Library, mostly privately funded, is a vital source of not only books and movies but internet access for those without it who need it most and a safe quiet place for people to look for jobs, kids to do homework, and more. The librarians are incredibly devoted and helpful and the library is such an important and vital part of the community.

Provides safe temporary housing for women and their children that are victims of domestic violence and helps them break the cycle of abuse and gives them the tools and resources to take their lives back. A superb, committed, excellent, devoted group of people who make a huge difference in bettering the lives of victims of domestic violence.

This parade has grown significantly over the last 5 years. It is a great event in the city of New London for families. This years parade filled teh streets of the city with huge crowds. The ST. Patrick's Day Parade in New London is simply amazing for all. One of the best events that happens in New London.
